  1. So I'm making some changes in work and I'll be losing insurance, so I need to replace it. I was hoping some of you had experience, or suggestions, with good medical insurance that covers skydiving injuries (if need be) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Thanks, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  2. Yeah, I'm not 100% sure but I seem to recall reading that on one of the very few tickets I've ever bought. Makes sense, but still sucks for the winner. No anonymity, and with that kind of cash the vultures are going to be hounding him until he's broke or a recluse. Performance Designs Factory Team
  3. I believe that the ticket actually says you have to do media stuff (not sure the scope of it). No way your name wouldn't be known after winning. Performance Designs Factory Team
  4. lol - I don't think it's Wally Gubbins, although I loved those videos too! Performance Designs Factory Team
  5. I believe the gentleman's name is "Wally"? Say some picture on facebook with news crew and the winner. Performance Designs Factory Team
  6. But, but, but.....it's different!!! Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. You should always pull the rear riser rings over, and past, the toggles before releasing the rds. The ring can spin, and flip though a brake line causing it to get trapped if you don't. It's happened to me, and I know of a few other people it's happened to as well. Personally, I like getting the rings below the dive loops, and toggles, before releasing and stowing the rds. 8. After all, it's easy to make a pretty slide presentation that panders to what someone may 'want' to believe. I'm curious though (since a lot of you research this stuff)....how accurate is this video that came across my facebook feed? http://www.upworthy.com/9-out-of-10-americans-are-completely-wrong-about-this-mind-blowing-fact-2?g=5 Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. No, you just showed up all by by yourself. See my ammended post above Ian, that's allright. No apology expected. You just know, I'm NOT your new "John Rich." Why would I apologize for your negativity? Just remember that it was you who decided to do the 'old news' post Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. Somebody brought Mr Negative to the party again..... Performance Designs Factory Team
  11. You have absolutely no idea of the circumstances under which the rig was stolen. Lets lay off the conspiracy theories, I don't believe they are valid. Instead I ask that you all keep an eye on ebay, craigslist, etc (we are too) and help us locate this gear. Thanks, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  12. Actually - yes, you are being part of the problem. You're overly defensive, and your posts reflect that. Couple that with your apparent resistance to advice that goes against what you want to hear, and posters are going to feel frustrated. It's just that simple. Now, lets move on. Welcome back to skydiving. A lot has changed, 10+ years is a long time to have a lay off - regardless of previous currency - so don't let your prior experience blind you to changing what you might have done in the past. 13. Glanced over your other thread. My thoughts: 170 until you get current (rent, demo, whatever it takes). Then, given your jump # goals and weight, a 150 thereafter IMO. Sabre2 would be my recommendation. I wouldn't be flying anything smaller until you're a lot more current, have caught up with modern techniques, and jump more. 14. Time to quit this, both of you. Marc, you're certainly not helping the situation. Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. Why is that relevant? Stolen gear is stolen gear. Someone has to pay to replace it..... Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. read your post again and ask yourself if you would give advice to such a post?!?? fill out your profile, otherwise many think you are a fu... TROLL! low drag riser on a 120...LMFAO! I competed on a Velo 120 loaded around 2.35 and even earned my pro-card on that canopy. Would you have LMFAO at me or just said hi at the DZ? Both? Performance Designs Factory Team
  17. Actually, your son and Peter's daughter were born on the same day. Sounds like a perfect set up for a future dz.com couple! Skydiver version of arranged marriage dowry.....5 rigs, 5 mains, 5 reserves, and a season's worth of jump tickets....? Performance Designs Factory Team
  18. Yeah, that's my personal opinion too. Too high profile for a jumper to do, and zero use. Performance Designs Factory Team
  19. Guys. My annoyance level is rapidly rising. Read this...http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4482657;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Performance Designs Factory Team
  20. Facts are a little scarce on this, of course, but it may have been a passer by who stole the gear, not a jumper. If it was a jumper, theres no way they could sell or jump the gear without word getting out (IMO). Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. I never called him a racist, but I did say he's a fear monger (in different words). You told me I didn't listen to him. Make up your mind. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  22. STOLEN GEAR - a PDFT rig has been stolen from Skydive City today. Looks like this, cutaway handle says GAGE, contains a Peregrine 67 s/n 18 with PD Optimum 126 and Cypres Speed 2. Thought to be local outsiders but please spread the word and share this ASAP. If you see it or hear of it please contact us at [email protected] or call a team member. Contact details on www.pdfactoryteam.com. Thanks for your help. Please spread the word. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
