Explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line area today

Actually, the point is that you've been banned from this website, multiple times. Not sure what that has to do with 'ego and misuse of authority' but ok..... Just saying..... Performance Designs Factory Team -

How should Tsarnaev be handled? Criminal or Enemy Combatant?
ianmdrennan replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
He should have the same rights in the judicial system as anyone else. He will, undoubtedly, be found guilty but I'm not a fan of circumventing the judicial system simply for convenience, or any other reason. It's a system of checks and balances in place for a reason. As soon as you start making exceptions then it becomes easier and easier to do so in the future. To me, the whole 'enemy combatant' thing sets a dangerous legal precedent. I'd be curious to hear LawRockets point of view on this. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -

I hope they hold him as a criminal. I'm not a believer in 'enemy combatant' as it circumvents due process. US Citizens, regardless of their crimes should be subject to the judicial system. This kid, no matter what they call him - isn't getting away with this. Performance Designs Factory Team -

And now the disturbing thought; surveillance society just vindicated?
ianmdrennan replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
Probably, for now. Lets be honest though. With people constantly posting pictures from their phones (which include lat and long coordinates, timestamps, etc) - the days of not being digitally tracked are long gone. I'm not saying it's good, or bad, just reality. Hell, I recall something from Raytheon recently that would predict peoples movements based on scraping the above mentioned, and other things, from the internet. Performance Designs Factory Team -
Actually thats not what the Uncle said, literally. I actually watched it. But don't let facts get in your way, we wouldn't want to break any streaks you're going for..... Performance Designs Factory Team

Atlanta has had it for years. Operation Shield. Granted it's not statewide, but it's city wide and growing. Performance Designs Factory Team -
I don't expect you to get it. I do, however, expect the usual "I'm rubber and you're glue". At least you're predictable. I always know what I'm going to get Performance Designs Factory Team

No doubt, our media is in a total shambles (a whole other discussion on that topic I could go on for days
-
Actually, you did. You guys are being no better than the people you're complaining about. Who cares if the media outlets hurt your feelings. They do stupid stuff all the time, but making comments like "they must be crestfalling if 'x' is untrue" is no better than their wild speculation. You're as much a part of the problem as they are. The difference is you can actually fix it - they're always going to be a sensationalism (not necessarily fact) driven outlet. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

??? Really, you guys are pathetic. The media has been filled with speculation (equally pathetic, but I guess a product of a 24 hr news cycle. When all has been said, start wildly guessing). Me, I don't give 2 shits who did it - as long as they capture them and bring them to justice (not gonna happen for at least 1 person now). Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I'm pretty sure the OP is asking for swoop specific reasons. I believe Scott Roberts used to make some nice padded swoop weight belts that would hold up to 35 pounds (max allowable anyway). Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

What does, "or close to it" mean? Maybe we need to talk abou what the definition of "is", is Good lord dude, be a man. Admit what you said was wrong and move on. It's just not that big of a deal to twist and turn about. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Funny you should say that. I was REALLY expecting a disaster with Zach Snyder at the helm. I thought "this will look pretty but have no depth or life". The Watchmen was a great and faithful adaptation but it wasn't exciting and lacked a 'spark', and Suckerpunch was a distaster as a movie. Then, when I heard Nolan was involved from a script point of view I got a lot more interested. Now....I can't wait (and I don't recall ever being excited about a Superman movie)
-
Yeah, I don't think Superman Returns nearly deserves the panning it got. it did suffer from too much 'homage' to the Donner original and never really had it's own identity but wasn't a terrible movie by any means. It also highlighted the Superman character flaw in that he's unable to relate to. This new path makes his character all that more relatable. Struggling to fit in, struggling to find his place in the world, just wanting to be 'normal'. These are concepts the audience can sink their teeth into, relate to, and ultimately care a lot more about the character (IMO). Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

So, I'm a huge comic book fan - but never really liked Superman as a character (boring and not flawed). I'm digging this new direction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6DJcgm3wNY&feature=player_embedded Enjoy (if this kinda stuff is your thing) Performance Designs Factory Team

Pretty fucking presumptuous of you. Go away. Damn, shame on me. I thought you "had it" there for a while but I see you really have no clue. DocPop isn't being presumptuous, nor do I think he's trying to insult you. You should attend canopy coaching, especially if you're coaching students. All skydivers should, imo.
