  1. hey, not my fault you got your sinus/ear issue the day i had blocked aside for you! i will be jumping again this year the 27th thru second. i know we'll sync up for a couple this year
  2. you know that free stuff that sits on the corner table at the auto mechanic's place? OH YEAH, that is the good stuff!
  3. Damn man, sux to hear you won't make it. I will rocket my rental car through the off-road desert terrain in hopes of recreating the fun that was last year. Sounds like you have a good thing going though. Start saving for next year! b
  4. Wow, that is mighty comforting for anyone who plans on getting high and is afraid that they may just fall down if they get up to fast! Oh wait, that's balloon rides... b
  5. Fast - I think you are paralleling my thoughts here... Right. And remember when Neo was talking to the Oracle earlier in the 3rd movie? She told him about the equation, and said that she was there to make sure something happened when they zeroed it out. Think of it like an equation... If Neo = x and Smith = y, and if they equal out and x=y then 0=0 and equation wipes itself out. But, if Oracle = z and is on the side of Neo, then x+z=y would be an equation weighted in Neo's favor. But at least that's what I got out of it! I'm sure everyone has their own demented twist on it all... :) b
  6. Joe, You're definitely going to get a lot of opinions on this one, and no one is correct. I've always liked using earplugs and know that it is something i should do, but i don't do it all the time. I'll remember to wear them if the ear plugs are some where in sight; either on the zipper of my jumpsuit or wrapped around my goggle strap (this would be the type connected by the cord). If they are in a pocket, i just forget about them. My earplug use really is determined by the airplane and situation i'm in. If i'm in one of our cessnas, i really prefer to wear them. But, if i'm up with students i leave them out so that i can hear everything perfectly. If i'm in an otter, i won't wear them, but if i'm in the skyvan i wear them always. I'll even wear earplugs during our boogie when i'm loading people into the skyvan. That plane is just too damn loud. I have my pro-dytter set on HI because i have an open-eared helmet. Using earplugs makes the audible quieter, but I still always notice it. Like most others posting, i just use the cheapies that i find at the drug store with a high noise rating and a cord attaching the two so that they don't get lost. I usually pop them out before freefall. Don't know why, just seems too quiet with them in. But when i forget to take them out, the first second of freefall is a very odd sound and then i think "duh" and take them out. b
  7. Hey Deuce, Just picked up my Eloy tickets for this year, and had to watch your "3 days of eloy" video from last year to start getting me excited. You planning on shooting video for a big way again this year? I haven't really managed to keep up on the 83 pages of the thread so far. c ya there! b
  8. very stylish. i think everyone will dig pinky!
  9. I remember my first xmas boogie in 2000. I was soooo not prepared! I was in one of the DZ bunk houses, but they weren't really that warm. After 2 nights of freezin my tail off, i went into town and bought an electric blanket. In the following years, oh yea, split hotel costs. It's worth it!
  10. F^3......cooling not necessary....... The water cooling systems are neat looking, don't get me wrong.....they are a lot of cosmetics. I am running a new, ASUS A7N8X deluxe 2800athlon w/1GB ram and no memory problems whatsoever...and not water cooled. Don't worry about the cooling fans. I am running a Zantec on my CPU, my vid card, another fan on my NB. Check out www.frozencpu.com if you want to get part numbers. Don't worry, what your friend recommends oughta work, but it is a lot of extras. But its hard to tell. Fwd me your stats and I'll help u out. Let me know if u have any issues. b
  11. somethingclever? that DID used to be an old admin password to a place i used to work. see ya all in december! b
  12. Come on.... I don't know what the link is you're talking about, but i did already register fo the amazing race...
  13. skychicks gone wild? yeah, i think i remember the 'no-shirt' promotion from last year. for anyone who missed it, i'll see if i can get the originator to make some more! (but if he doesn't, i'm taking over! :) )
  14. whack whack whack whack hey it happens to the best of us
  15. eh, you're not alone. don't worry, drinking isn't just fer losers!
  16. Hixxx & All - Good to hear that everyone was enjoying the boogie and all the sights. This year was my 4th CF and it is my favorite time of the year without a doubt!
  17. i'm not on the boogie committee, so hopefully my answer isn't entirely wrong. last i heard, the ff organizers we wanted fell thru so there will not be any ff organizers. (still will be plenty of rw organizers, and another state record is planned!)
  18. can't wait!!! the countdown is almost done!!!
  19. Whoops! good question! sorry i have no clue what happened to these alleged videos that i have never seen...maybe we'll need to wake up a camera jumper or just snag their helmet and make sure it happens! b
  20. hey kate! of course i'll be there! i really wanted to hit mullins in wichita the weekend of the 23rd, but instead will be in ft. dodge getting things setup. oh well. i'm going to try and make an effort to make it on a morning load or two this year instead of sleeping in till 11, so hopefully will get to jump with you!
  21. spectre, prodigy, lightning...u name it i'll jump it - and hook it!
  22. 0 : 1 : 1 damn weather! one sweet sunset jump, and my first S/L student who backed down while sitting in the door. was my first landing in a 182! b
  23. billo

    260lb jumper...

If your guy is looking at tandem, you might be able to try AFFI in Boone, IA. I was 6'5" 250+ lbs when i made my tandem and they took me up. I would hate to send him a barrage of difficult (hefty) tandems, but what the hell, he just got a new engine in his C-182. It is located about 1 hour north north west of Des Moines and contact info is in Parachutist. The owner/tandem master is a friendly, smaller guy with 11,000+ and would be more than capable of taking this guy if he was comfortable with it. He jumps a large Vector tandem rig. b
  24. morning sunshine! help me out on this one, i'm sure you can think of something. my roommate suggested that i have the looks of brad pitt and the sense of humor of john belushi. would you go along with that? come on, i know you can think of something better than that one guy from amazon survivor b
  25. drink beer!!! i lived through 3 years of calc, but only with the help of beer and a TI-92. I'm sure they have better calculators than that nowadays that can even do integretation by parts for you!
