Yes you can...I did and still do when I fly mine. The thing is if you put the semi-symetrical blades on it, you need to change the gear on the motor since the semi blades need more RPM. That means that you need more power as well. If you are flying the flat blade (and I see very little reason not to just fly the flats) then you will be fine with just the Lipolys. Sorry chuck I had a brain fart.. as was stated above, it is when you move to symmetrical blades (which knowing you will only take a few days now that you have your heli) you'll need to change motors. Sorry for the temporary failure of a synapse fire.

THe camera send back wirelessly to a receiver which has an RCA out on it. I plug that into my PC5 skydiving camera and do a record control and record to minidv. The receiver is being run off an inverter in my car, the camera off batteries.

Okay chuck, here are my photos of my cam setup. The velcro you see on the inside is for the 9V battery. I think it is possible to tap your LiPo for the power to the cam I just haven't gone that route. It would save considerable weight.

Yes LiPos are a must! I forget I fly them because i have never used the Nimh that came with it.. went straight to the different motor, the better blades and the bigger battery. I'll take pics today of the setup I have going.

Check out the exits page on flybirdman. I haven't made the "how to excite your aircraft" page because I have no experience in that. I just feed it money and it goes. We're going through a migration of the website over the next week to a faster server. Anyone who has used FBM has seen that it is really slow loading the forums and the main page. This will be fixed. I've also been slacking on updates, hopefully I'll be able to get some new updates in as well. (anyone wanting to be a website manager?)

Sorry I missed this thread! I bought a blade cp on a whim and have been hooked! I bought the training balls but ended up ditching them after only a few flights. Seems there are two thoughts to training - 1 being using the balls and one without. I went without and did alright. I'm still getting my nose in hover down which can be a bit difficult. Check out the EHBG found here for good stuff. I also have been having fun playing with a wireless spy cam I put in the nose of the blade. I'll have to post a picture. I take my car out to the field plug the receiver into an inverter and then plug the video out into my PC5 (skydiving video) and do a record control... so I can record the flight. Bought the cam on ebay for like 5 bucks (plus 15.00 shipping). works quitely nicely. Anyway i've been through a LOT of parts.. replaced everything just about once.. unfortunately I had a f'ed up motor and i went through 3 4-in-1s (80 bucks a pop) before I figured out what was causing it. Horizon Hobby (the mfg) was good about replacing stuff, they sent me replacements for everything I had bought. I'm trying to stay happy with the blade but i'm itching to want to upgrade.... Want to be able to carry more weight! I got some cool strobes from a guy in my area that look like this they act as a LIPO alarm to let me know when my voltage is getting low.

Oo another bird @ orange, good stuff! I don't jump much in the winter as I do have enough sense not to :) but look forward to flying with you. I jump the all silver S3 (typically) - not sure if I've met you or not.

I'll say, my super-silver s3 has no signs of smoke on it with the exception of the bootie snaps. I think the silver fabric they use has some type of coating on it that doesn't stain easily. I have probably 40 or 50 smoke jumps on this suit.

Not a bad deal it seems............but that's the price BEFORE the "Big plane fee" and the "Extra Altitude fee" and the "instructor fee" and the "2 parachutes fee" and the "Gravity machine fee" and the and the and the...................... And the gas or plane ticket required to get to the DZ where you can actually use the ticket :)

Chuck! How crazy, I just picked up my first RC aircraft - a blade CP helicopter. I've crashed the shit out of it numerous times.. it is pretty good at handling crashes, though I will tell you some of them were so bad that i've replaced just about every part on the heli. Took me a few days to learn how to hover it - I fly it in my house a good bit. Pretty slick, runs on batteries. see pic. Edit: just looked up the plane you bought, it is made by the same company that made my Heli....

My understanding is it is 200 jumps or less, so say you only get 50 jumps your first year in on this new gear then you feel like to get your "deal" you should go ahead and trade up for the new stuff.

What do you guys think of this new program.. basically they are promoting downsizing within the first year (or 200 jumps) by giving you free downsized gear when you turn your old stuff in. I think this could be trouble for some...

Is that Al's plane in your picture? If so i've jumped that for a demo before... We walked out the back door to his house and got in his plane and took off.. pretty cool as it was a developed residential area with a paved runway splitting all the houses.

Probably the fact it is going to be hanging in a building starting today. I'm going - hoping to get some good pictures of the opening events
