  6. I have a blade CP.. i can fly it without crashing but i'm still learning.. I went to the hobby store and bought an aluminum rod which was the perfect size for a tail boom... lighter, stronger, cheaper. Also have a wireless camera for it. They're fun, they get expensive quick though! (just ask Skymonkey1)
  7. Chuck, Where are these plastic blades you speak of? Kevin
  8. Hey, if anyone in here jumps in romania shoot me a PM. Have a question.. Thanks, Kevin
  9. That sucks! Your next purchase should be this: Spektrum DX6
  10. I didn't want to stray the other thread too much from it's intended purpose, so for all you LCD TV/HDTV buffs, a few questions: 1) I'm looking at the Sharp 37D90U (37 inch, 1080p, w DVI input). The size is right, and ultimately I want to run my computer into it via a DVI run through the wall so that I can use a wireless keyboard/mouse to have TV access in my living room. With that in mind: A) What is the best way to accomplish this run? I'll probably need 50 feet - I've seen mention of DVI over fiber, unsure about that. The 50 foot DVI cables i've seen are pretty pricey. 2) I'm thinking about hanging the tv on the wall - are there any suggestions on how to do a clean install with respect to all the cables for power, components, etc? 3) Any comments about that particular TV? 4) There was also a post about HD movies on DVD, I assume you need a special DVD player such as blue-ray in order to view those? Thanks ! Kevin
  11. Awesome pictures, I have to come to keys boogie next year.
  12. I believe that is scott "BLAND" - nice flying with you medusa.. How's the extranet? Kevin
  13. I've been in a few different chilis restaurants in different states and have noticed some of the same photos tacked on the wall.. I'm guessing they are some kinda stock photography (I originally thought "oh cool, this must be the owner doing various things") anyway - one of the photos is a group of guys huddled around what appears to be a king air ready to go skydiving.. they are all experienced jumpers, and it appears to be a NY DZ.. anyone know the story behind that photo?
  14. Yep, but my goal was to find out what DZ.commers jumped where.
  15. Anyone live/jump in Oklahoma? If so WHERE!? What is the "popular" dropzone and how far is it from Oklahoma City? (and for the bonus question, include if you fly wingsuits) Thanks!
  16. Has anyone talked with the folks at JII-Wings lately? I've been trying for a few weeks to get in touch with them via the info email address with no luck.
  17. wonder if it was because of the materials used and the ease of prep/ sewing? anyone know off hand if the factory they were made in still open? I hope that an updated Phi in some form or another comes back at some point. It did show it self to be an interesting design.. just not sure it worked how they expected it to.. I was told it had something to do with production times, etc... but who knows
  18. Check this out here you'd think they'd get some better gear to throw on that guy
  19. $4.00! Cheap crash! Wait 'til you break a set of graphite blades and a boom on a gas job, and find you also need a new main shaft, feathering spindle, stabilizer bar etc... Oh believe me i've gone through probably 6 sets of carbon fiber blades.. if you know a cheap alternative to those let me know!
  20. Pretty cool. Is it lighter? I bought two, both the same length however one was thicker on the inside. The thin one (which is easily bendable) is lighter but the thick one is either the same weight or slightly heavier - but much more durable. The blade had no problems flying with it.
  21. So I broke my tail boom a couple of days ago and went into hobby town to get a replacement... at 4.00 a pop i feel it is pretty pricey for a graphite rod. So, I picked up a 1.50 almuminum (I think it is aluminum) piece that was a perfect fit! They sold them for general purpose building (trains, planes, etc). Threw some super glue on it and shoved it in and away I went. Much cheaper than replacing the normal tail.
  22. It starts that way, as the battery gets lower you do have to adjust it while it is flying.
  23. Due to the fact that the tail is run from a seperate motor not a belt or shaft, the trim for the anti torque pedals (the one on the bottom left) starts on one side and moves to the other as the battery runs down. So don't center that one. Quote This is a true statement, but don't you still start with it centered on the remote and then as the battery drains adjust it to the left or right or whatever while it is flying? I apologize if i'm giving bad advice - I just taught myself how to fly the thing..
  24. I didn't have a dremel so I made it work :) Your milage may vary. Have you done any adjusting with the two settings on the 4-in-1? I found when I was learning that one of them was causing the heli to turn to the right on its own. (Make sure on the remote everything is trimmed to center) Congrats on not crashing yet :)
