  1. I go with the people who have probably the most experience with canopies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nsca5add8g&list=PL45E3B7998E49283E Remster
  2. Who else is going to fall for your old lines then? :-D Remster
  3. Apparently, he's out of his coma, and doing better. Remster
  4. It's going to be a close one! Hayabusa has built a good little lead, but 3 points over 7 rounds remaining is not that much! Good competition in the women's, 8way, and VFS too! http://www.omniskore.com/comp/2014/2014wpccz/main_4-Way.shtml Remster
  5. Yeah. That drunk slut deserved to get raped. By 'the state you're in' I meant the level of intoxication. Every single scientific study on this issue I've seen has concluded that somewhere around 96-98% of cases where people claimed to have their drinks spiked, they simply drank too much alcohol and couldn't handle it. Then why do you bring it up in a rape discussion? Remster
  6. Yeah. That drunk slut deserved to get raped. Remster
  7. DZ dynamics will vary DZ by DZ... But there will mostly always be some level of drama. Just like there is drama in pretty much any group situation. The best advice I can give you is to keep going to the DZ, and hang out. Don't commit yourself heart and soul to one group (if that DZ is very cliquish), but be a bit of a butterfly. You may find you click with some people more than other, regardless of what kind of jumping they do. But, the more you hang out, the more "in the know: you will be of all the BS and drama, and then it's up to you to not get involved. Remster
  8. Yep.... Lots of us know him. Get well quick, Bruno... Remster

Well, insects are different, without the cardiovascular system. That's totally probable. Remster
  11. That's what I meant, but Craig Girard taught me never to name drop. Remster

  14. Thousands of skydivers have done AFF without a second of wind tunnel. Yeah, it's a great tool, but don't sweat it. Besides that, listen to you instructors. Remster
  15. If this is what you did, it's classified as an "AFF" jump. AKA: Accelerated Free Fall. You really should have done the FJC 1st. No. The original AFF program was just this: first jump is 2 on 1 Congrats girl! Bout time! Remster

  17. All of my skydiving friends sleep. I've yet to have one of them die falling out of bed, and most of them sleep in a bed (or other more dangerous places, like the concrete pad behind the bar). I stopped counting how many died skydiving. Don't kid yourself. Remster
  18. If he was trying to fight a streamer or a mal for too long (which, without any other details than the basics we got sounds about right), no number of AAD or RSLs or Skyhooks may have saved him. Yes, they're great backup devices, but they don't replace doing your EPs on time. Remster
  19. You're right, 10k is not representative. But I would say there are way more than 25 jumper with 10k jumps in the US. But, again, if you (the OP) are trying to convince yourself that skydiving is safe using statistics, you 're not getting it. Adding skydiving as a regular activity significantly increases the risks your take. Deluding yourself that it's safe only makes it more dangerous for you, and me, so please get it. Mmm I don't why do you assume I'm trying to convince myself skydiving is safe. If you read my post you'll see that in fact I stated just the opposite: skydiving needs to be perceived as a dangerous activity in order to try and make it safer. Because: "We always hear that skydiving can be a very safe sport, and I truly believe that, but statistics can disagree." Remster

  21. No, it's not. You can do everything right and still die. If you can't handle that, take up bowling. Remster
