  1. I considered flipping from Independent to Republican just to vote for Marco. He's dreamy. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  2. Yep. "Mine" was a drive-thru wedding in Vegas, with some strange dude as our witness. (Can't say I had been planning that since I was four years old though. I spent most of my younger years thinking I never wanted to get married.) I am not what one would call a "girl's girl" and part of the reason is I was always a tomboy and could not relate to the conversations regarding future baby names and wedding plans and everything before, after and in-between. As God is my witness, I have never spent a moment imagining my wedding day. I always dreamed of being a big career woman and what my dream house would be, and when I thought of men it was purely sexual and not at all about getting married, much less having babies. With regard to the latter, I am thankful love hit me over the head and I have Bill in my life as my best friend and lover, but marriage? Wedding day? Eventually, we might marry for practical purposes, but it will not be anything that inconveniences me and not very big, as I do not even like that many people--I mean enough to must-have at my wedding. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  3. I do not understand why it should be any different than anyone else essentially married to their career or their hobby. The guy is great at disarming bombs. He loves doing it. I could go into the psychology behind it all, but his desire to go back to his respective office--a warzone--and do his job is really not uncommon or especially anything, imo, that calls for redemption. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  4. Agree! I recently saw Four Christmases and thought it was really funny and enjoyable until the inevitable I-can't-believe-we-were-missing-out-on-all-this-happy-marriage-and-family-stuff ending. They could have ended it completely differently and still hilariously satisfied both audiences. I admit, I am still miffed about it. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  5. I would argue that 50% of Inglourious Basterds is exactly what you've asked for. It's really two movies with one central character that ties them together. So, we never did watch it that night and rather than hold on to it and deprive others (as we were super-busy) I sent it back to Netflix. We received it on the day it was DVD-released and then it took until just now to get it back. I have seen the first half as of now. LOVE IT! I cannot believe how much I love it. I even like Brad Pitt. I would marry Eli Roth if I were available, but it seems he only dates ugly chicks. In any case, I am really enjoying this movie so far. I meant to watch it uninterrupted last night, but--well--we were interrupted. It happens.
  6. I second that. Best retirement wishes to you both! Tell your lovely lady we said hello, Jack.
  7. Does it look like anything compared to this? Agree, one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
  8. Cruzer came running into my office with his tail tucked between his hind legs. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  9. Super! Many military pets are surrendered to shelters when their owners are called for service. Fostering seems like an enjoyable way to potentially save someone's beloved pet's life and support our troops in one sweet-furry swoop.
  10. What a wonderful program idea. As an active member of several local and nationwide animal welfare organizations, I have been asked before if I would be able to/interested in fostering pets (fostering helps provide potential adopters with information on the animals' at-home behavior). Ultimately, it takes a special kind of person of which I am not. However, fostering a pet that already has a loving home in support of our troops might be something I am up for. I wanted to share the info in case others are interested, too.
  11. It's funny 'cause it's true. We have learned to distinguish Zoe's "muffled meow" as indication she has something in her mouth. Before this realization, however, when she meowed we would open the door and she would bolt in with a lizard in her mouth. It's probable she would have eventually killed them if we allowed her to continue to play with them inside. Now when we hear her muffled meow, we do not let her in until she drops whatever she has in her mouth and instead of chasing it when it scurries off (sometimes the lizard will lay there in shock for a minute before running away) she opts to come inside. I do not know if she knows what we mean, but we always tell her to "drop it" and she does. She would rather play inside with one of these She goes bananas with that thing throughout the day. She meows the whole time (it can get really annoying) and when she loses it under something she will sit there and howl meow (as if it were the end of her world) until I retrieve it for her. Sabre is not much into capturing live animals, but has a piece of rope (the third one since he was a kitten) that he carries around like a baby blanket and routinely places in his water bowl. He brings it with him everywhere and sometimes plays with it. Other than that, he would rather take a nap. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  12. I have never had my heard broken, but... I LOVE Pink's "So What". I'm just fine. And, you're a tool. So, what? I am not much into any recent music, but I do like Pink (and love the new Pearl Jam--as well as the old
  13. If she wants the bird, she will go outside to get it. Bringing in a pet bird from a store, with clipped wings, to an enclosed space reminds me of a dickless canned "hunter". If the cat really wants the bird and you let kitty outside, kitty will try to get the bird. While some kitties will get the bird, most birds will get kitty instead--which is way more hilarious. BTW, both of our kitties "chatter" at the birds outside. Both of our kitties get to go outside for an hour or so each day. Zoe' has yet to catch a bird, but has brought in (our lesson learned by opening the door before checking first) a couple mice and several lizards. None have ever been injured (which is surprising as her teeth are insanely sharp); she just lets them go once inside and chases them further. Sabre, otoh, once outside will just lay there and maybe extend his paw for a swat if a bird or squirrel comes near, but ultimately gives up and takes a nap. He's my baby.
  14. I am not saying a word about my place, except it is not your place. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  15. True. I mean whatever happened to "the human head weighs eight pounds" charmer? I don't know--don't care. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  16. That is a gigantic comparison. Alrighty then; I can't wait. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  17. Ehhh. I like Ricci, but how does Moretz compare to Fanning? Fanning, is the only actress since Jolie I "discovered" early on and still LOVE. Ricci is fine, but...I mean what is this new movie she has coming out? After.Life? (Edit: BTW, Ricci in the first Adams Family_was_wonderful.
  18. SO, true. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  19. Yey! I was hoping it would_actually_be good. I admit, I thought Role Models was funny (I put off watching it for a while because it looked lame) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse was fantastic; so when I read about (even saw a preview! ) this movie (yes, I also like Nicholas Cage) I was hoping it would not be a royal waste. Thanks!
  20. I have only seen one episode--it might be the latter to which you refer. In the episode I saw (a year or more ago?) the Sea Shepherd crew witnessed a couple whales reeled in and slaughtered. I rememeber a comment by the narrater, or one of the crew members, this was the first time the Japanese had actually done so in the Sea Shepherd's presence. Toward the end of the episode, the Sea Shepherd vessel impacted the Japanese one--the Nisshin Maru, if I remember correctly (have not Googled to double-check). Officials confiscated the Whale Wars video footage to investigate. I am not completely for, nor against, what the Sea Shepherd organization does. What I know is there is a lot of grey area and if one cares about what the Japanese whaling industry is doing, the Sea Shepherd has done more to bring it to light than anyone else. Short of actual terrorism on the Sea Shepherd's part (???) I am not sure what the big deal is. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  21. With a nose job, maybe. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  22. Best news I have heard in a long time. It is a bit long (seven minutes), but worth the entire watch as there are interesting details throughout. This made my day and many more to come! After watching this interview, it seems Jodie Nelson is my kind of people.
  23. As Good as it Gets is tied with Forest Gump as my all-time favorite movie. I think I have, like, 10 or 20 movies tied for second. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  24. I don't know--something not Cocheesey-like. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
