  1. I don't suppose it could be that you would find the UK system a little bit too difficult for you to be successful would it? I do hope you said that tongue in cheek? Otherwise we could be having a few words. My point was that some UK evaluators pride themselves on doing some crazy in air stuff to gain kudos from other evalutors rather than to test the candidate. I didn't find this on the course I did with Jay. The flexibility of the US system meant I could take the course when it suited me. Rather than a fixed schedule during the time I make my most money. This being my main reason not my ability to pass......... Journey not destination.....
  2. I have just done mine with Jay Stokes. It was all done "by the book". Nothing was glossed over and every aspect was covered. The practice jumps were hard but fair, doing exactly what real students would do. There were no contrived actions designed to "dick" the candidate (as I have seen here in the UK). The evaluation jumps like wide. I found Jay to be open, responsive and a great teacher. He was very enthusiastic and obviously still enjoys teaching. So you can take it as read that I would highly recommend him. Journey not destination.....
  3. Why would he need luck selling it? I was the original owner before nick, and will stake my reputation on this being genuine. So if you know nothing about this canopy then keep your glib comments to yourself. It really annoys when people post replies with little knowledge and experience. If anyone is interested in this awesome performingand looking canopy and have any questions then pm me Journey not destination.....
  4. I had Cookie fit my flat lock to the box and they have drilled a hole through the plate fro the camera screw. When I get back to the DZ I will take a picture and post it. With the screw in place it (obviously) holds it all tight. Journey not destination.....
  5. I cut that and the plastic LCD shield and it now sits flush. Just dont trim off too much and the mount sits up nicely against the bracket. Journey not destination.....
  6. I just cut the lip off and now it sits flat on my quick release. Just mark the area and cut............. Journey not destination.....

  8. I do exactly the same climb out with or without wings. It makes no difference..... Journey not destination.....
  9. I did find the canopy little "hot" to start with. But it only took a few jumps to get to know how the canopy flies and lands , and have been very impressed since. As for heavier passengers, then again it is no real issue. I have taken 15 1/2 stone in nil winds and had no issues landing. Journey not destination.....
  10. HOP 330 - Nice openings, light controls, excellent flare. Having jumped loads of mains this is my preferred weapon of choice. Journey not destination.....
  11. The ones we have do 12k in just under 15mins with 14pax. I think that Taupo Tandems NZ have a nomad as well, just don't know how often they use it. Of all the jumpships I have done tandems out of the Nomad is top. Journey not destination.....

The Macc lads rock............so called because they come from Macclesfield. "There was some lass and I thought I'd shag her. So I gave her 12 inches of me mutton dagger" Closely followed by "he's a poof and he leaves spunk stains wherever he sits" Journey not destination.....

  16. Give him his due. He was on Richard & Judy (chatshow for our US friends) and he did say that a lot of the situations were staged and he is not like that all the time in real life. He was very candid and upfront about it all. Good on him................. Journey not destination.....
  17. I have used the apacer burner and thought it was ideal. It would burn the images in about the same time as I took to edit. Bryn Journey not destination.....
  18. I have done around 500 jumps with stainless steel RSL clips hooked to the rings of my wings container. End result? No issues at all......no evidence of damage or wear. So, for me, he doesn't need any warning. Bryn Journey not destination.....

  22. That and the self cleaning/dust repelling sensor, which is a major feature. Having suffered with dust on the sensor, it is enough for me to get the 400D. Bryn Journey not destination.....
  23. What about using a DVD recorder with HDD? Can you have the promo on that and burn it to the disc before putting on the actual footage? Bryn Journey not destination.....
  24. To be honest you have some dangerous thinking going on. Shit happens all the time. Having snag points, no cutaway, large lens, low experience, I can't die attitude etc, individually wouldn't be much but together add up to a potential pyramid of disaster. I don't usually reply to these type of post but you need to wake up and smell the coffee. Camera flying should never be on the cheap. I have lost 2 lenses which also happened to take of the front housing of my camera. The cost of repair far outweighed my "cheap" lens. The list goes on and on............ take a step back, seek advice, review what your doing and then if you still think "it's all good" then carry on, after we are all adults and your decision is just that....yours. Safe jumping. Bryn Journey not destination.....
