Cudos to you Bigway! I've never bought anything from you but wouldn't hesitate in the slightest. I've read some of your previous posts and can attest that you do your very best for your customers. It's good to know that some people do realize that everyone is human, and we all make mistakes. Keep up the good work.

How soon is too soon to start freeflying?
Blink replied to Rstanley0312's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ugh, unless I'm doing it wrong, you're not supposed to have high horizontal speed. You're not supposed to have any a all, that's the whole point of falling down the "tube". -
That is what he is watching. 1.7 WL at 450 jumps...and his canopy scares him.

Yes cudos to you and your staff, especially the canteen, mmm!

I too use the soft Vigil pull up cords similar to UPT's. I simply emailed AAD (Vigil) asking them where on there website I could buy some more as they weren't listed, she requested my address and sent me some, including stickers, free of charge! A+ customer service!

Titanium sounds much cooler than aluminum or stainless. And yes, Titanium has similar strengths to stainless, and similar densities (weights) to aluminum, the best of both world, but more important in aerospace use, not quick releases.

Actually, I think it has do to with the risers moreso than lines. PD reserves come with Spectra (microline) so there wouldn't be a difference from the main; however, many people jump mini risers, therefore the Slinks can be shorter on the main. Reserve risers are wider.

QuoteFlip-through vs. Step-through.reply] Hmm, I've heard it called both names, but never knew there was a difference. According to CSPA, there are seven entaglements: Step-through (below slider) Step-through (above slider) Step-through risers (below slider) Step-through risers (above slider) Step-through lines (below slider) Step-through lines (above slider) Step-through cascade How does a step-though and a flip-through differ? -

Hey Mike, Just a quick question: On the bottom of the FlatLock I see a notch cut into the middle slot, is that to adjust the camera to the center of the mount? Thanks!

Agreed. I bought a Vigil for $1000, it was declared as such, and shipped USPS. I didn't pay any customs, HST, GST, etc. I actually was shocked and asked the attendent if she was sure there were no charges. Sohrtly after, I received my container, valuied at $500, shipped USPS. I ended up paying ~$700 I think (15% tax). I'm just happy it wasn't the other way around.

Ship it to a DZ close to the border, drive down and pick it up :)
-
Just to note, CSPA doesn't regulate jumping camera with tandems, the tandem manufacturer regulates that. CSPA regulates up-jumper videography. Common manufaturer regulations are 500 jumps, with atleast 100 camera jumps.

Blink replied to bomb420's topic in Photography and Video
Yes. (My name is Bill too) It has to do with the narrower lense fitted to the camera.
