Think about inteviewing in FL. Lots of dropzones and the intern year is a piece of cake.

There's more people who will jump with you at Z Hills. I like Titusville, but is is kinda slow compared to Zhills in the summer.

I've been out of touch for awhile. Is Hiper a new company in Tn?

I bought one 5 years ago from Precision and never regretted it.

I watched the Chris Martin Remebered DVD. It was good to see pictures of how I remember him. I was impressed with the speakers at his funeral. Makes me sad and long for a time when I was jumping in Tennessee. I can only imagine how his family is doing. I know I didn't sleep well last night after watching the video.

The USF area in Tampa is a bad location. South Tampa is alot safer and more fun. It's not too far of a drive and it's closer to Tampa General where you might be doing rotations. I did my residency at USF and still live there. I've never had a problem with crime in 5 years.

Chris took me on my first jump in 1994 and taught me AFF. I've lost several friends to skydiving from that time( Bill McShane, Erin Engle), but I always thought Chris was immortal. It's times like this that make me want to hang it up, but I never do. I wish I could have seen him one more time. If anyone has Denny Collins, Wade Storie or Kent Stevens numbers please PM them to me. Ed

If we only have an A license but more than 200 jumps can we still go? Done all the water training, night jumps and accuracy too, but never sent away for the license.

Anyone interested in doing some RW this weekend at Sebastian or Titusville? I know alot of people are probably cleaning up after the hurricanes, but if your getting out let me know.

Does a class three medical mean you are a commercial pilot or does it apply all pilots?

I made my preference known when we were about to take off. The staff member in question continued to make remarks and hostile jokes all the way to altitude about "hey watch your pilot chute because it could pull you out the door." I think others on the plane who witnessed the event could verify my story. I was approached by several after the jump who agreed with closing the door and felt bad for the way I was treated. One just emailed me and said he spoke with the manager and that he felt the staff were out of line.

I did approach other staff but did not get a better response or attitude. I did not get to speak with the owner who would have probably been more diplomatic.

Is it customary to have the door open on take off? The issue came up today while jumping at Lake Wales. I feel that the door should be closed on take off to prevent an accidental deployment of a reserve or lost main pilot chute which could take down the airplane. One of the staff members at Florida Skydiving in Lake Wales vehemently disagreed. He even ridiculed me in the airplane for suggesting otherwise. His response was "Everything is a risk. What if you have a heart attack in freefall?" Even if leaving the door open is Ok, I do not think his actions were appropriate for a staff member who is addressing a safety concern. It may even prevent others from speaking up about future concerns for fear of ridicule. I certainly won't speak up in the future, because I will be jumping elsewhere.

I noticed a post involving a newer model Tempo that failed. I am currently jumping a 1994 Tempo reserve and was wondering if it is time to replace it. No riggers have voiced concerns, but I have read about the older Tempos not being reinforced so I am a little concerned. What do riggers believe is the best reserve on the market today if it is time to replace the Tempo ?

Alot of people were asking for you this year at Zhills. They were sad to see you leave. Hope things go well for you at your new home.
