  1. You skinny bitch!!! Eight is just a warm up . "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  2. Or honest!!! My dumbest so far was failing to reminding everyone to check handles and chest straps on one jump... "its 10 oclock do you know where your handles are??" On that jump some one left the plane without a chest strap, the person I was jumping with!!! Thank god he stayed in the harness but when I found out I felt like a real dick!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  3. What can we do about it though? I jump the fabrics that are in my jump suit for specific characteristics. Aside from getting a jump suit lined with some fire retardant material it is out of my hands right? "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  4. Hey they sent me a free dbag and pilot chute to try to sort something out... that is up there with L&B!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  5. I buy beer when I do something that I think is a milestone and I would like to share my excitement about it with people. The first time I packed a tandem I was nervous right down until the time they landed. I thought that it warranted beer. I won't be buying beer the next time I pack a new to me used canopy simply because it is a "first". Bring the beer out after the beer light is on. And make sure you give it out and tell people what it is for. It isn't just free beer, they have a duty to talk to you about your first if they take it!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  6. Orange gets my vote. they are top notch!!! They opened the drop zone for my college club on my way back to CT after collegiates after no other drop zones along the way were going to be open. Orange was happy to try to find a pilot, and offer us great jump tickets. Some of their fun jumpers showed up to jump with us, and later were nice enough to invite us over to their house for a bbq. On of the nicest group of jumpers I have met yet!!! Their super otter was very nice! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  7. Turbo brats!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  8. Attempts, jumps... two planes and we were touching each other in freefall. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  9. Otter, both twin and super C182 C206 Casa Caravan Allouete King Air I need to get out more, I really want to put some older jump ships on my list!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  10. Try some fiber!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  11. Just eight so far.... all in the US. I think I am off to a good head start. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  12. I hope this doesn't cross the line as advertising. I am a fun jumper at Danielson CT and I am hoping to get more jumpers out midweek so I can get to jump more!!! More jumpers, more loads, more jumps for me. The DZ is open 7 days a week so if you start getting twitchy mid week send me a PM!!! There are also some hop and pop specials during the week but I don't want to cross the advertising line by describing them here. It is no longer a 182 drop zone, they have two C206's and we have already made some two plane formation attempts this season. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  13. I already did, they are like 25X more likely to go crazy!!!! "Buyer" beware!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  14. Sometimes I get the strange feeling right around break off that I no longer have my rig. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  15. I would argue that other skydivers are putting YOUR life in jeopardy by failing to give enough horizontal separation if a higher pull is a safety issue at a single plane single pass operation. Vertical seperation is a load of garbage!!! I do agree that it isn't a good idea to pull unannounced in this scenario, give some healthy wave offs just in case. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  16. That doesn't worry me, what worries me is the fact that I have more jumps then ability. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  17. Where are your are you coming up with this extreme increase in interest? Extreme increase of what? Tandems, observers, students who progress past a single tandem skydive? Maybe I am wrong, but it seems like the skydiving industry is in a decline in many areas, not a massive increase. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  18. I disagree. From talking to customers, and watching their reactions I think most of them are way more impressed with a gentle tandem landing then they are by swoopers. In fact many get concerned when they see some one pull a real fast swoop... "we won't have to land like that will we!!!" "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  19. BBQ "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  20. If it doesn't get on the plane it gets the hose again! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  21. As far as I know the two week turn around is for stock containers with custom sized harnesses, not a fully custom rig. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  22. If one of the "you can do this" claims is wrong, then it is bad advice regardless of the disclaimer you put at the end of your first comment. The claim that you probably couldn't hook hard under a larger student canopy enough to cause serious injury is dead wrong, so it doesn't matter how much warning you tag on to it! The other problem is that students don't need a list of possible "maybe" options, especially from unexperienced jumpers who aren't instructors. At my dz we have a tight landing area with a ton of trees. In the first jump course we tell the students to set up over the hanger, fly down the road, make a left hand turn to fly across the tree line, and another left turn onto final at 300 feet. What do you think would happen if after the first jump course I casually mentioned to new students that they could also set up over the secondary field, fly up the tree line, turn right at the beacon, and turn in at 200 feet. It would screw a good number of them, and after they have brain lock because they can't make a choice from all the different options they are going to end up in the trees!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  23. I jump with an AAD because I am aware of the fact that I am far from perfect. Despite all of my training, and EP practices I don't think it is impossible for me to keep pulling that hard pull even though I have tried to burn in my brain that in the event that I have a hard pull I am to try twice and then pull the reserve. I also don't think it is impossible that some day I might really screw up and lose alt awareness in a huge way. It doesn't change the way I skydive one bit, but improving my odds in the chance of a screw up isn't a bad thing. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  24. Prime dry aged porterhouse. Mmmmmmmmmm!!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
  25. Although I would be *willing* to pay more to make sure my rigger stayed in business I would rather not if the only reason is that demand is dropping. Repacks being undervalued is a different topic all together. What about instead of raising the price they could offer a partial inspection and mant. mid way though the 180 day cycle. Maintain the three ring system, check it over, change the closing loops. I don't think a lot of jumpers do those things on their own. I know my rigger has mentioned that he can tell during a I&R that these things are not being done. Extra source of cash, and it might keep knuckleheads from letting their cutaway cable go uncleaned for 180 days straight!! "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
