  1. Actually I was being sarcastic... I thought it was hilarious rather than scary
  2. Have you ever seen The Grudge? Hahahaha... I will never get over the kid doing this face and making that crackly noise... OMG so scary... sorry I'm a totally random person telling you this hehe... but yeah the White Noise was bad too
  3. Dude, practice started today! I saw them out of the office window
  4. My goal was to have shitloads of fun, and this was the year I started skydiving, so I think I achieved my goal
  5. That's what I did on my first solo after finishing AFF
  6. If it makes you feel better, my butt hurts too. I jumped my own rig for the first time yesterday and was having trouble flaring the canopy fully, god knows why since when I did five test jumps on it 20 jumps ago I had no problems... anyway I landed on my butt and it didn't hurt at the time but it does now
  7. Can't remember: 4 : 1 Completed my conversion jumps (converting from ripcord to BOC / one shot cutaway to two shot) and jumped my very own rig for the first time! YAY! I was absolutely shitting myself the whole ride up wondering if it would all work okay hehe. Side note: how do you do the beer emoticon?
  8. 18/48... It took ages for those tiny little states to work
  9. If they do it once or twice every now and then, then I'd say it's not that big of a deal... but if it's on a regular basis and you've already spoken to them, I'd definitely complain.
  10. We have an office equipped for 25+ people, and about 6 people come in every day. You practically need rollerskates to get to the next person, they are so far away... And I have a half cubicle - it has two walls.
  11. Black beetles (it was a dare - had two - still wriggling) Sunscreen (I thought it was yoghurt... blech!) Mould in my yoghurt... There's more, but I can't think of them right now.
  12. If you have sensitive ears or have trouble clearing your ears like me (ie. history of ear infections, pain on commercial flights even without a cold), you may find taking sudafed before a jump can help... most people don't seem to have any problems though and can just clear their ears easily. As for jumping with a cold, it's a risk I wouldn't advise taking, ever.
  13. That's how I was too.. and actually I still am to some extent. It's mostly all about the freefall for me. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that student canopies are such huge, slow things... But soon I'll be off the gigantic student canopy and onto my own gear, so that will most likely be more fun
  14. What's the X-ray explanation card? Does the X-ray damage the AAD in some way or something?
  15. If I HAD to pick one, it'd be the shining.. but there are much better horrors out there.
  16. 4/3/0 * First jump with my BF * 1 solo * A hop 'n' pop due to clouds coming in.. probably shouldn't have done that one, there was a hell of a lot of cloud cover Wind sucks!
  17. Argh, I have that problem too! It's like, alarm-clock-not-going-to-go-off-phobia, hehe. Because of it I make someone come wake me up every morning... yeah, I know, slack
  18. Hey, it's cool to know there are other social phobics out there skydiving
  19. I had real problems with accuracy for my A licence, but I'm finally getting it Also packing I don't think I will ever get good at... It still takes me 40 minutes a pack, mainly stowing those first two stows which is at least 20 minutes of that 40. Probably another 5 minutes getting pissed off at the lacky bands snapping... And probably 5 minutes untwisting all the weird twists I keep managing to put in it all on the way back... But now that I'm going for my B licence, the freefall skills with other people is the jump-consumingness
  20. I didn't look what country you are from, but in Aus (APF), A licence & students are not allowed to jump with 15 knots or more wind, B licence 20 knots, etc, so I wonder why you were even allowed? I like these limits at the moment as I myself have my A licence, so I'm not hugely confident yet with stronger winds... which makes me wonder why you are confident... 50 jumps isn't much canopy experience. But anyway, in my situation, I would have just pulled the toggle in as far as it would go, then start gathering canopy.
  21. I don't smoke... but the more often I drink, the healthier I seem to be.. then I'll stop drinking for a while and get the flu
