  1. 3 times, 2 were eventful... My first was stage 9 AFF, which is the hop 'n' pop. Fell off the strut, landed downwind (to avoid a low turn / powerlines) in a field with a bunch of cows all mooing at me and running for it when they saw me - except two who were going at it. Landed a little hard and my goggles were smooshed into my face, but not too bad considering I had the 270 student canopy
  2. My Falcon 150 opens like a bitch every time... except once when a friend with the same canopy packed for me with all these fancy techniques... it was the only time it actually snivelled rather than almost instant canopy...
  3. I got a dustpan & brush... woohoo!
  4. Don't worry, your packing will eventually get faster with time
  5. I don't really want to add it up because it will be a depressingly large amount Especially as I didn't get my A licence till like jump 40 or something like that... but it's all worth it!
  6. :5:1? Did 5 jumps most fun was the absolutely spastic 2 way I did with a friend where we couldn't even get relative (He mostly does freefly and I'm just usually spastic ) And the emergency exit! The plane like started to die at 5000ft... went all quiet and started descending, we got out ASAP... at 3000ft and we were 14 kilometres south of the DZ. Landed in a nice big field next to some random airstrip which just happened to be right below us (handy!), and got to sit and wait for an hour in 40'C heat to be picked up. The pilot landed ok but I landed really heavy on my butt OUCH. Anyway that was pretty scary and exciting!
  7. someone posted here a while ago about a cool volunteer job you could do - parachuting into third world countries to deliver food or something? I did a search and can't find it but oh well... It required a fair few jumps, I forget how many, and also some other skills (which I also forget haha)
  8. I must be the only one who has such a cheapass boss that we don't even leave the office - we get sandwiches and freaking sausage rolls... the budget doesn't even extend to a little coke or lemonade let alone alcohol! We eat it - then go back to work. Maybe it's time for a new job?
  9. Falcon 150 Bought used, I assume custom colours from previous person... It's pink-purple-watermelon-purple-watermelon-purple-watermelon-purple-pink... black stabilisers, yellow ribs
  10. ?? I have one and had no problems getting it... also know 3 others with one.
  11. Our DZ has free gear hire for 2 months after finishing AFF. I thought that was pretty great.
  12. 72 is still very impressive! Good luck with your A.
  13. I met a guy who got licenced at 75, but that's in Oz... he quit at 91 because he thought he was pushing his luck.
  14. Why aren't they made anymore? where would you suggest to look for second hand ones
  15. I got 32.3 after failing like 6 times... Edit: Wait, there's more than one level... hm naah..
  16. What's the story with the 2000+ jumper? How was the rig tampered with? I'd like to know more, can anyone direct me to a thread about it or something...
  17. I dream about mals and other crazy stuff going wrong all the time, but not yet a bounce... I'm sure it'll happen though.
  18. A woodchuck would chuck no amount of wood if a wood chuck could chuck wood. There's like a whole dialogue to go with this but I forget it all
  19. Hi, I have landed with the plane before while everyone else on the load exited - this was at 2,000ft. I had about half the jumps I have now at the time and I said, no way. I just didn't feel comfortable as before that my lowest exit was 3,000ft. When I landed everyone told me I had made the right decision, if I wasn't comfortable with it then I shouldn't do it. Now I probably might do it if I had done as a few people have suggested, getting used to lower exit heights but I'd still be pretty wary... Anyway just thought I'd let you know I think you made the right decision! If you aren't comfortable, don't do it!
