  1. Check out Skydive Wissota in Chippewa Falls, WI. It's going to be the cheapest dz that you'll find pretty much anywhere and the level of training and dedication you'll get from the experienced jumpers is amazing!!! But if you want to get started before winter, act quickly. The last two static line classes of the year are Oct 7th and 14th. (You don't have to do a tandem before you start jumping on your own. (FYI, a tandem at Wissota is $175 and video is $55) Otherwise, feel free to come and hang out anytime. We're open all year round, jumping when weather is permitting. You'll learn a ton just by being around. PM me if you want more information.
  2. I'm bummed, Jeremy, that I didn't get to jump with you this weekend. Our loading timing was off! Next weekend! 4:4 Beautiful weather at the dz this weekend which makes me look forward to winter even less. Had two really awesome four ways on Sunday, and ended the weekend with a back flip off the 182 step (very cool seeing the tail of the plane on the exit).
  3. Hells ya!!!! I'm excited! It's got to be obvious who my team is. We picked up a bunch of talent over the off season so hopefully we'll be seeing a little of Lord Stanley's Cup in St. Paul! Hell, not a little...a lot!! But am I sad that I gave up my partial season ticket for skydiving. It was a very tough decision but the right one.
  4. Ok, I'll play... Say Vagina Blazing Vaginas (Not sure if that's funny or gross) Mystery Vagina Slap Vagina or Vagina Shot Sliding Vaginas
  5. Could you imagine if an instructor was not familiar with her arching capabilities, sent her out for her first jump and told her to "Arch, arch, arch"??!!??
  6. Todd's got dial up...downloading that could have taken him hours, which would have been time away from preparing for Jamie and my birthday celebration this weekend. Plus we don't want him to realize that what he's doing with all those animals in WI is in any way humorous...he might stop doing it and then start making advances on us hot skydiver chics!
  7. Quietdrive!!! They are a band from MN with their first nationally released album out. Sort of along the lines of Blink 182, All American Rejects, Green Day. And I have to add, guitarist Matt Kirby is a friend of mine. Check them out at www.quietdrivemusic.com
  8. My favorite song of all time... "Beautiful Girl" by Pete Droge and The Sinners
  9. I'm with you on this one. She's not going to choose either of them. She'll go back to knitting.
  10. If you actually took a look through the SIMS (you don't even have to read it, just skim through it), you'll notice there is a page that tells you which sections of the SIMS that you need to study for each exam. I hope your laziness doesn't get you in a situation you can't get yourself out of...actually, I hope your laziness doesn't get someone else in a situation they can't get themselves out of.
  11. Jeremy! You finally came out of the dz.com closet! Crazy good times this summer... See ya Friday! Pray for good weather. After having to take the weekend off of jumping I'm jonesing to get back in the air!
  12. Yes!! 10/21-22. Sorry, blonde! I keep looking at the wrong month on my calender.
  13. You forgot one option, for those of us that just started this year.
  14. This was a hard movie to watch, but so tragically inspiring. Another thing to note regarding the cast; The men who played the terrorists were segragated from the passengers and crew except for when filming. The director want to make sure they didn't become "friends" while filming and have that show up in filming. I'm so glad that there weren't any A listers in the cast, but rather real, ordinary citizens, just like the real United 93 flight.
  15. 12 hours But I'm going to have to wait a whole 9-10 days for my next one. Don't know that I'll make it...
  16. Skydive Wissota's annual Pumpkin Toss will be held October 22-23rd. Join us in: *Tossing a pumpkin out of the plain a few hundred feet off the ground. Closest one to the target wins! What? I have no ideal! It's fun anyway! *Bonfire at night along with a Road Show. If you've never been on one of Bob's Road Shows, this is the year to do it! *Lynn's (that's me) Famous Jell-o Shots! These are no ordinary jell-o shots. We'll have Orange Malibu, Margarita, Tequila Sunrise, etc varieties. Mmmm...jell-o shots. *Oh, yeah, and some skydiving!!! Plenty of space for tents, campers and RV's! Will we see you there?!?!?!
  17. I am not a lawyer but I've been on the board of directors for my townhome association for five years. Based on our bylaws, rules and regulations... How did the leak happen? Was it because of a running toilet or did a pipe burst? In my HOA, if a pipe burst, then it's the HOA's responsibility. They file a claim with their insurance company and I'm responsible for the deductable, which in turn, would get forwarded to my insurance company to pay (HO6 policy). If it was a running toilet or something neglient on the upstairs owner's part, try to get their insurance info and file a claim with their insurance company. If they don't have insurance, take them to court. Sueing the HOA, IN MY OPPINION, is, I don't want to say dumb, but in essence, you're sueing yourself and every single one of your neighbors. How would you feel if two buildings over, this happened to someone else and suddenly your association fees go up $15/month to pay for their lawsuit. I can understand your frustration, more than you know, but... I give same advice as everyone else...talk to a lawyer. Talking to them shouldn't cost you anything, they should only bill if you proceed with them. Just my $0.02
  18. I've read a lot of threads on s/l and AFF, and I just with someone who went through AFF. The dz where I jump didn't advertise that they did AFF, only s/l, so I went through s/l and I am so glad that I started via s/l. You're going to have a blast, and it just keeps getting better and better! And no worries on the line twists. I didn't have line twists until my first FF and had no problem kicking out of them.
  19. We'll be doing this again Oct 22-23 at Skydive Wissota. Pumpkin Toss Boogie!!!
  20. I'm going with Dilana and Toby in the finals. Magni is boring as hell to watch. Good singer and would do well the album, but as far as concerts are concerned, I would not pay to sit there for two hours and watch him walk around the stage. He is not up to my "KISS" concert standard. Lukus is...ugh. I think they should hook him up to monitors and see if he's having epileptic seizures while he's performing. Just hurts to watch. Toby...MMMMMmmmm, Toby. I'd do him, henceforth, I'd pay to go see him for two hours. Dilana--I think she would be the best for the band in the long term. Will they have a long term? Only time will tell but she's their best chance at any lasting career.
  21. Ooh, the blue screen of death. Doesn't sound good. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Jealous?
  22. The more and more I read threads like this on dz.com, the more and more I'm glad that went through s/l and didn't let anyone talk me into doing AFF. And not all youngin' would look at you with crazy eyes for getting out at 4 or 5k and hitting a few points. I did just that last weekend. Clouds were low, went up thinking we were going to do hop n pops from 3k. We got 5.5k so decided to launch a four way, hit two or three points and track. Very fun.
