  1. Excellent post Dr.! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  2. Congratulations for having the courage to make the changes you felt you needed. Good luck to you and your family in the new year! 3. I don't know anything about climbing, but when I saw a report on CNN that listed their previous climbing experiences (I believe they mentioned Denali, Kilimanjaro and a couple other places that would be recognized by climbers) gave me comfort that this wasn't total newbies doing this. They also left a note stating who they were, what route they are taking, what equipment/provisions they had with them, etc. That also impressed me that they weren't going into this thoughtlessly. So I'm assuming that these are people with some knowledge that have run into to some real bad luck...but again, I don't climb, so those with actual climbing experience would know if this time of year, on that particular mountain would make a difference. At any rate, I hope there is a good outcome...I feel a kindred spirit with risk takers. 4. Congratulations...that's fantastic! My best to all of you, and hopefully I'll be able to make it your way sometime this summer to support you - I'm not that far away "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." 5. It'a allllllllll good, Mighty Mouse!
  6. Oh, come on now...don't get your ultra-sensitive, MotoGuzzi bike-panties in a twist! This wasn't my personal statement on whether I think attire equals professionalism. In fact, working in the medical field I have met MANY unprofessional people in three-piece suits, unfortnately I was just answering a question based on what my golfer brother told me Yeah, you're probably right. But I don't golf...I think it's idiotic. So, I don't care what people wear/don't wear on the links, or greens, or whatever-the-hell they're called. I ride my MotoGuzzi to work so I dress for the bike not the other staff members*** O.K. 'Easy Rider'...whatever. Seems like I, unintentionally, hit a nerve. You're just muppeting around right now, aren't you??
  7. I have no idea about the evolution of the collar, but the request by golf courses is, I'm sure, to try and keep golfers from coming in with T-shirts which tend to be stained, ripped, and/or have tacky messages. They want to be a step up from that. 8. OMG - he did do that...I saw a preview and they led you to believe he was going to, but I thought when I actually saw the show it would be something entirely different. EWWWWW! 9. #1 or # 8 "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  10. Now Redkite has an 'on fire' thingy going on this thread...that was his plan all along. He just wanted to know what it was like to be on fire! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  11. Oh, you're a 'muppet' if ever there was one! P.S. I'll see you in the spring at SDC...too cold now! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  12. I love muppets, does that mean I'm not gonna be taken serious??*** Only if you like that count-dracula one that sits in the balcony all the time...I never got him "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  13. I'm sorry, but it's hard to take serious a 'smack-down' from someone who uses the word "muppets" as an insult. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson

    Sitting....

Same here...at my last job I worked soley for one doctor and did ALL his appt/surgery scheduling, so I was sitting at a computer all day long - it drove me crazy. It didn't help that the desk was fit into a corner - so I sat in a corner, working by myself, staring at a computer all day. I don't know how the I.T. geeks do it. I had to find excuses to get out of that corner many times during the day to talk to people (who weren't patients) and to stretch my legs and move around some. Uggh! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  15. - Scary...I would go up to that pilot and plant a big wet one on his, or her, lips for landing that plane in one piece! 16. I admire your nerve...I wouldn't be good at the caving thing unless they are large caves, which most are not from what I've seen on Discovery, etc. I actually get a little claustrophobic-panic just watching some of the tight squeezes cavers wiggle through on t.v., and underwater caving...forget it. You have lots of fun and be safe! farts

When people start talking farty stuff, I always think of high school, 9th grade. I was in german class, and across the hall was the spanish class. All of a sudden we heard this loud, hysterical laughing that just went on and on. It went on so long and so loud that my german teacher felt she needed to go across the hall and say "What's goin' on...you all are disturbing us???!!". The flustered spanish teacher said "Sorry, we'll be quiet now". But for the rest of the hour we would hear these outbursts of hysterical laughter that would quickly die down - we couldn't figure out what could possibly be so funny, especially in spanish! Turns out the spanish teacher was at the board conjugating verbs when "ssssssppppfffftttt!" - she let out a long squealy one! The class fell to pieces. She was embarrased, as you can imagine, so when the laughter kept going on and on she thought, incorrectly, that it would help the situation to try to explain in away..."It's a biological function", "It happens to everyone", "Haven't you all ever broken wind, of course you have...Bob you do it all the time!". She didn't know how to leave well enough alone apparently. When the bell rang, everyone came falling out of that classroom laughing - my friends could hardly tell me what happened through the tears running down their faces. *If you're a teacher, DON'T fart in front of the class...squeeze those cheeks together, excuse yourself and run into the hall... whatever you have to do. And if you do, don't try to "explain" it to 9th graders!. At our ten year class reunion, my friends were still laughing. 19. Dateline NBC did a profile of him a couple years ago. No surprise here, but none of the desperately ill people he "touched" were healed, despite giving special "love offerings" to be able to get on stage with him. He did, however, build himself a ten million dollar home in a gated community in Malibu, travels on private jets, wears desginer clothes, and has a cadre of body guards to protect him Charlatans like him make me crazy...I do believe there will be a special place in hell for people who abuse the sacred trust of desperate people. 20. Glad your home...thanks for your willingness to serve. Have a very merry christmas and a happy and safe new year!
  21. Favorite: Dolphin Least: vulcher Water: stream Room: Anxious, a little claustrophobic, and wondering when I can out of there. 22. Hmmm.....well, I do like the black, blue, yellow color scheme going on. And it is certainley more appealing than, say, a Picasso abstract that has a foot coming out of someone's head But, at this point, if given a choice between Pollack and Monet, the frenchy wins! Thanks for posting up the Pollock though! 23. I didn't see one Thursday at the Museum - maybe if I actually saw one it might make a difference, I dunno. Next time I go I'll have to make a point of asking if they have one on display. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  24. O.K., you've sold me on trying the banana now. I think I'll have to throw some walnuts in too - it'll be like banana bread!
  25. I don't get a lot of "modern art" either...most of it leaves me cold. I just spent all last Thursday going through the Chicago Art Museum, and I can't think of one abstract/modern painting I truly enjoyed. I'll stick with the Manet-Monet impressionists - those were gorgeous.
