  3. No sir-rey! Paid in full That would be an effective method to annoy the hell out of you to pay-up though..."COMCAST" was plastered everywhere, and little worked. I shut everything down a couple times and now it seems to be back to normal...I hate Comcast, but they're the least painful to use in my area "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  4. Thanx...I guess no one else is either. Don't know what's goin' on here "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  5. Is anyone else out there having a Comcast thing going on??? Their banner is up in the advertising section, and suddenly I can't visualize anyone's avatar's, they keep popping up when I want to respond to a post, etc. Anyone else?? It's great if they're a sponsor, but I think they've screwed something up, at least for me. 6. My hair dresser has that exact phone and its REALLY cute! Ofcourse I love hot pink so Im bias. She said there hasnt been any problems with it so far. I have the Palm Treo and I love it but thats not what you were looking for. I really like your choice. Thanx! It's been fun having it and, most importantly, it works!!
  7. Well, both Samsung's that I had were not reliable: poor reception, the camera function came on too easily and constantly took pictures of the inside of my purse (that annoyed the hell out of me). I've had multiple episodes of not being abe to get a signal for 24-48hrs. (T-mobile swears that it wasn't them)...so I got a new phone. Like you, I'm not a text-y person, don't really need the camera either, but every person I know who has the Motorola Razr is happy with it. And, so far, I've had none of the aforementioned problems. It's a flip, but a little bigger than my previous ones, so it doesn't get lost in my purse as easily though the overall profile is thinner (as the name implies). Plus, it's cute! (not usually a criteria for phones with me, but this phone appealed to me for some reason). It's the Miami Ink edition - hot pink case with cherry blossoms etched in - reliable and fun! 8. My prayers added for his safe return... "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  9. Yeah, that's what I was thinking...looks like you got attacked by a crazed chicken??!! P.S. I'm also glad you're doing so well. P.S.S: upon review, I could see how this may look like this was a slam...it really wasn't. Just a comment about how weird/ugly the wound looks (purple chicken feet, etc.). Glad Towerrat got a laugh though. Carry on. 10. Hello Pilotflier and welcome to DZ.Com! A year ago I just bought my first computer (I avoided it as long as I could, now I don't know why I waited so long), so it takes a little while to get your training wheels off! Before you know it, you'll be "googlin' the internets" just like George W. Bush! O.K., that was one of the most profound statements I've heard in a long time! And I hope you don't mind me saying, one of the funniest...though I know the learning of it's truth wasn't. I've never heard it before - is it original? Very astute. I agree with Skymamma, sounds like you have a great daughter...give her a hug and tell her you love her - she's lookin' out for you! Come around often - like the sky, we're always here (well, almost always!)
  11. Hey Captain! It's nice to see someone come out of the cockpit...and go out the door! Now you really know what flying the friendly skies are all about! Congratulations and blue skies always! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  12. Welcome to the skies! Glad your doing so well. Like Skymamma said, the big key for me (and many others), is to master the trick of relaxing while hurtling toward the earth Taking a big, deep breath (several times during the jump for me in the beginning) really helped my stabiltiy and form. It will all come in time! Blue skies! 13. Welcome to the sky and DZ.com! The skies and the forums can be intimidating, but just take your time and have a sense of humor with both, and you'll do fine! Blues! 14. Hello Stuart and welcome to dizzy.com! Last year I came back after a 5yr. lay-off...I can't imagine 15! It's good to be back though, isn't it??!!
  15. I recently adopted a 5mo. old kitten from Petsmart...they let several rescue/adoption agencies show their available animals (it's the one thing I truly like about Petsmart. Now if they would just stop selling exotic birds...that's a discussion for another thread!). Anyway, Sophie is an adorable little thing and one of two kittens in a litter of six to survive feline dystemper. She and her sister were rescued from a kill shelter. My landlord adopted a pure bred lab from a lab rescue. His owners gave him up when he was about a year old because he was ruining their hardwood floors. I just don't understand people who give more thought to buying a pair of shoes than to the committment and care of an animal "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." 16. Please do! That sounds fantastic...I looove salmon and anything w/Wasabi.
  17. Unfortunately, I heard about it when a friend/DZO died. I had heard that a lot of discussion and comments were being posted, and I wanted to see what was being said (most all was good, thankfully!
  18. Like several others have said...Wow! That is a fantastic transformation - you should be on one of those HGTV shows! (I love that channel...I can watch those 're-do' shows for hours on end). Dz.com's Billy-Bob Villa!
  19. Being in the sport we are in, I am loathe to recommend suing anyone or reporting people...sometimes things do 'just happen'. The Grim Reaper can reach out and grab one of our own even when they have made no apparent mistakes. The same with our animals. I recently lost my 17y.o. cat, who I loved her dearly. To be blunt, she meant more to me than some family members...she was with me a long time, and added much more to my life than some of my family ever will - that's just how it is sometimes. There are some people who just don't understand this as their hearts have not been opened up to the deep bond that can develop between an animal that you truly love as a member of the family. And when you love that way, you grieve that way. I do believe that most of the people who responded to your post, like me, truly understand your pain but want you to keep a steady head when your heart is not. Your emotions, understandibly, are all over the road right now . I get that, believe me. I still have tremendous grief/guilt over my cat's death. She was old and fragile and I couldn't get any answers on how to help her, so I thought it was "time". So I made the awful decision we sometimes have to make on behalf of our pets, and made an appointment for her to be euthanised. Unfortuneately, the specialty clinic that I took her to was technically incompetent, in my opinion, and she suffered unecessarily WHILE BEING PUT TO SLEEP. The clinic I took her to seemed well-run, but that was deceiving, and I didn't realize just how poorly trained the staff was until the euthanasia starting happening. The story is too long and complicated to go into here, but suffice it to say I have reported them to the state of IL. for their unprofessionalism before, during, and after the euthanasia. So, while I have absolutey NO wish to sue them - money won't alleviate the loss - I absolutely do want them to reassess and reeducate the staff there on competent and compassionate euthansia so that no animal, or animal owner, has to go through the horror that my cat Spazzy and I had to endure in the last hour of her life. I think Tigra's suggestion of an autopsy might be helpful on two levels: 1. It may (repeat MAY) give an answer and put your mind to rest about Cindy Lou's actual state of health - if she had an undiagnosed heart condition that until surgery presented no symptoms, then you know the vet did absolutely nothing wrong. The autopsy may also reveal if the vet did something inappropriate. I have a friend who took her cat to be neutered last year, and he died 2 days later from a hemorrhage caused by a vet, or vet tech, not properly removing a tube. The tube had a bulb on the end of it which is supposed to be deflated before attempting to remove it. It wasn't, and it ripped a huge hole as it was removed, from which he slowly bled to death from over the next 2 days. This improperly deflated tube was the cause per the E-vet she ended up taking him to. The vet even remarked she was surprised he was able to hang on for as long as he did with the size of the hole made. By the way, all she ended up getting from the original vet who did the procedure, was a refund. And this was only after cutting through a lot of self-righteous, defensive posturing and denials until the E-vet's word and autopsy revealed otherwise. I believe there are a lot of great vets and vet techs out there. This wasn't one of them. So, mistakes can happen. 2. If the autopsy reveals nothing either way, then, at the very least, you know you've done all you could do to get some answers. Sometimes there just are no answers. I will say that pursuing reasonable options (contacting a state investigator, not a lawyer) has helped me work through the grief, and based on that, I suggest it may do the same for you if it is appropriate. It is my sincere hope that the clinic where I took my cat will get a badly needed wake-up call from the state. I took this step after talking the situation over with many people, most of whom are working in the vet field, and they agreed the situation was badly handled. So I advocate calmly and methodically trying to get some answers and then, if warranted, take action. It won't bring Cindy Lou back. But it will, I believe, help you come closer to processing this sad event in your life for what it actually is - neglect or just a sad, unexplainable event in life that you have to cope with. Then you will be able to move through your grief and, when the time is right, perhaps open your heart and home to a new animal who needs a good loving friend like you. My heart goes out to you... 20. Thanks for posting that. I agree entirely. She was a walking tabloid, but she was still a person. Wendy W. I agree with this sentiment also. I just hope the courts can find *someone* who can give the little girl she left behind a loving and stable home. 21. CNN reporting that a roomate found her dead in her Hard Rock Hotel room at 2:oopm...they transported her even though it appeared she was deceased. What a crazy, sad life...and a 6mos. old baby left behind with a father's identity that is still up for grabs. 23. When I was in high school and saw Grease. A friend had us stop just before we drove in so he could hop in the trunk just so he didn't have to pay! But then again... maybe he just didn't want anyone to know he was going to see Grease! 24. Ahhh...I bet that's why the room looks so big to her! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  25. I prefer not to be alone in my insanity. Thanks for joining me! WOW! It's bigger in here than I thought it would be! Ok see now that there is some of the funny stuff! Yes it is...I wonder if it's the red pill or that little blue pill she gets, when the nurse passes the meds around, that's behind the funny??
