  1. Hey Dave! I've actually never jumped out by the west coast. I hope to soon though. I'm probably moving away from the east coast in the next few months... 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  2. I've got an old copy of Right Wally. What ever happened to that guy? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  3. No one important. Mr Pumpkin suffered a terrible fate though. We held a frothy liquid funeral service for him. Cheers departed orange friend! 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  4. Turns out an 18 pound medium sized pumpkin goes about 200mph. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  5. There used to be a dropzone just north of Raleigh that recently shut down. Some of the gang from that DZ have been driving up just across the border to Suffolk VA to jump. They've got the cheapest jump prices on the East coast (for licensed people anyway). 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  6. What's the theory behind that? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  7. These new drawstrings don't have tabs on the ends. It's just a long line that continues to extend past the opening for 6 inches. I used to have tabs, this is what's leading me to believe that the new drawstrings are opening up the slider more than they used to be. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  8. Okay, you know what... someone has got to be making this shit up. I'm feeling skeptical. What the hell is going on in the UK nowadays?!?! What ever happened to good old fashioned shooting people? Is this what we have to look forward to if we ban firearms? Seriously, was that the highlander? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  9. I don't know if mine is quite as bad, but I'll tell you this. I fly an 84 with HMA 500s. I used to have Mel's HMA 300 and sent it in to PD for bigger lines. While they had my canopy they did all those nice little maintenance things to my canopy that they do. They replaced the drawstrings on my slider and the channel fabric to them. Now, my canopy takes a LOT longer to open. It used to not take nearly as long. Now I stare at it like "WTF?!?!" I'm taking about 1,000 ft or a little more to open. The only real thing I can think of that changed the way it could open is the drawstring maintenance on the slider. The lines couldn't have had anything to do with it right (I think anyway). My guess is that the drawstring lines are longer and the slider expands more. Maybe a good idea would be to tie a small knot in the drawstring somewhere so that the slider isn't 100%, maybe take it down to 90% and see how it affects the openings. I'm going to try this next weekend. -Simon 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  10. There are plenty of freeflyers who wear full face helmets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meRNB3Ogfh4 A whole team of them! 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  11. Mr. Booth, I have a question with this scenario regarding rigs equipped with the Collins lanyard. If the RSL was loose wouldn't the weight of the freebag load the Collins lanyard, thus pulling left side CA easily enough to release left main riser? If that situation did occur, the jumper would be pretty much left without an option to cutaway and hope the reserve works right? You know your gear much better than I do. -Simon 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  12. I thought it was funny when the UK banned samurai swords. That pesky highlander was running around chopping peoples heads off! There can be only one! 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  13. I understand and respect the movement to make some head up records, but why start it out from the belly? Why not keep it sit from begining to end? Surely it can be done. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  14. Glad to see there is someone on this forum that is an expert on more than just US bipartisan politics mud slinging. I still think that this deal with India just goes to show that the current NNPT is inadequate. It either should be revised or scrapped. It seems only to be serving as a tool for international political leverage and setting sanctions on people who aren't liked. But hey, it's kind of like the way of the UN right? I suppose if we let India in as a NWS we'd have to let them join the security council too. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  15. So what are the consequences then off being non-signatory? It absolutely undermines the relevance of the NNPT. Iran and North Korea have withdrawn from the treaty, but they are an "axis of evil" and are constantly having sanctions put on them by the US. When India doesn't want to play by the rules, we just bend them to fit them in. I think we just look like hypocrites to do it this way and not just bring an obvious nuclear weapons state into the treaty as NWS. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  16. Sound to me like whatever company makes those little cards should start printing ones with more information on it. Any idea who prints them? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  17. I remembered a good one! Last year about this time a girl came to do a tandem jump to celebrate her 30th birthday. She was very loud and excited. She wrote a big black 3 on her right palm and a 0 on her left to show off for the video. She even had me wear a skull face mask for the jump. After we got down she was hooting and hollering and said that the next part of her 30th birthday celebration was to go get her first tattoo. I jokingly said something about her getting my name tattooed on her ass. She laughingly agreed and after seeing her video and all that, left. Christmas time rolls around, no shit, I get a christmas card from her at the dropzone with a photo of our tandem jump and a photo of her new tattoo. Honestly, it's just a photo of a tattoo so I can't tell if it's actually on her ass, but it is of some flowers and written right above the flowers is, "Simon at Skydive Suffolk rocks!!!" I still have that photo on my fridge. I had to buy beer because it was my first tandem student to "tattoo my name on her ass". Never heard back from her either. Sometimes it comes back to me, somewhere out there, my name is tattooed on that chicks ass. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  18. Check out Bram & Elly Clement at: http://www.skydiveratings.com/index.html Although they are currently doing a lot of work in Florida, Bram regularly goes to Europe to do ratings courses. I've seen him do lots in Spain and Ireland. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  19. The rigger is supposed to keep a logbook for all of his rigging work. Although ones packing card may only list the day it was repacked, the rigger's logbook entry for your rig should say 120 day I+R meaning that he only certified that reserve pack job for 120 days. After that, it's done. The FAA set a MAXIMUM time the reserve can be set for. What is to stop a rigger from doing a repack and logging it as a 90 day I+R (for some AAD reason or whatever). That reserve repack would only be good for 90 days even if the FAA MAX is 120 or 180 days. Right? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
