  1. While it does look like there is a BASE pouch on his WS, it doesn't appear that he used it on the jumps I photographed. If I remember correctly, these flocks were in the low 70s for fall rate. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  2. Hey Mike! Here are a couple of shots I took of you leading the flock in your new V3 over the Wingsuit capital of Texas (SDH) Now come on! I dusted off my wing suit for some jumps, let's get you out of yours for a jump 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  3. I wonder how different this list would have been if McCain were elected. Chuck are you the Chuck I met last weekend? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  4. Yes. Let's say the American population is rounded at 300,000,000 people. If 299,999,999 of them all vote 'yes' to execute Mr. XYZ and remove his basic right to live for no reason, they can... whether you like it or not. Nobody can (or will in this case) stop them from doing it legally. I think that answer is simple. The more complicated answer I've seen here to your question is what is the minimum number of people needed to call a majority. Where one draws the line. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  5. I think that's the ACLU you're thinking of and not the supreme court. Their job is to interpret the constitution. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  6. No I don't care to guess, and I don't care who it was. Again, it has nothing to do with the supreme court considering reversing an amendment that was legally put into place by a fair and square vote by California voters. Like the results or not, it was a fair vote. It is not the place of the supreme court to take away or over rule the voting power of the people. This is true irrelevant of what it is the people want to vote for/against. Like I said above, the results of the vote for Prop 8 may be thought of as unfair for some, but to have your right to fair voting power removed by the supreme court is unfair for all. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  7. Just a few days away. Got word this morning that our number is up to about 12 flyers. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  8. [replyI think you would be happier with a theocracy.... then things like this that YOU and THEY deem as sinful can be prohibited. This has nothing to do with anyone's personal stance on gay marriage or who thinks whats a sin. It has to do with legislation from the bench. Proposition 8 was a fair vote. Every registered voter gets a chance to vote 'yes' or 'no'. They amended the constitution to represent what they wanted. If people are upset about the results, propose a new vote. Call it whatever you want. Proposition LMNOP to re-ammend the constitution to say whatever you want. You can say that the results of the Prop 8 vote was unfair to the minority of those who wanted gay marriage if you'd like, but a system that allows a 7 person government panel to overturn a majority vote and make whatever laws they want regardless if it's what the majority of the population votes for is unfair to all voting citizens. Your vote should count for something! 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  9. Sure, republic v.s. democracy, I know this. But where is the power of your vote? What good is holding a vote amongst the people at all? It would seem that it wouldn't matter at all which way you voted. A panel of 7 people will eventually choose for you. What system is it when the vote of the citizens means nothing at all and the government will choose anyway? They made the majority vote, in a republic, that would still weigh in for something! 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  10. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aOsw9p6syk14&refer=us Let me get this straight... 1) A seven person government panel chose to legalize gay marriage. 2) 52% (majority) in of Californian voters in a democratic state (in a democratic country) vote to amend the CA constitution to stop gay marriage. 3) A seven person government panel considers overturning the vote. Whether or not you're for or against gay marriage, where is the democracy in this? How are we to stomp around the world forcing other people to take on democratic principles yet we won't allow voters to make the final choice? The beauty of having 50 states where we all get to make our own laws! It's legal in MA and CT, if you don't like what the CA voters democratically voted for in your state and want to get married gay, why not just move to another state where voters vote for the things you want? Letting supreme courts decide all of our laws for us is not democracy! 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

  12. On the weekend of February 7th/8th at Skydive Houston in Waller TX there will be some vertical sequential skydives. The goal is to hold some basic tryouts for a VRW team to compete in the 2009 nationals. If you can't commit to a team or can't compete for citizenship reasons, you can still come out and turn some vertical points for fun. There is already a confirmed group of at least six advanced level flyers for that weekend. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

  19. Though I know that Bush bashing is pretty popular here, I'd like to throw one thing out here. Let's not forget that although Bush had put a ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, he was the first president in history to approve federal funding for all other types of stem cell research. Clinton (for whatever reason) did not even though it was an option while he was in office. Not a bash against Clinton at all, I've got no disrespect for the guy, but Bush did do more for stem cell research than Clinton did and he believed strongly in it. He was only opposed to embryonic stem cell research. Through federal funding in non-embryonic stem cell research, a lot of scientific advancement has been made in skin stem cells, pancreatic stem cells, placenta stem cells, and many many more to the point where many scientists I've read reports from said that there would not be as much use in embryonic stem cell research as previously thought. It seems to me that with all the advances made in non-embryonic stem cell research, lifting this ban is really more symbolic than anything else. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  20. I wasn't going to say it because I was trying to be nice and polite, but I figured somebody out there would! Just trying to keep the conversation off rubber bands and on tube stoes So Phoenix, you've posted that you do this, but your 4x1x1 description isn't really specific enough. Please specify which kind of silicone you use, is it 4mmODx2mmID? And where would you get this material? Could you post a link for good tubing to use since you say that you've found a reliable way to make these? 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  21. Hey John! I didn't realize you lurked on here! Long time no see! After a discussion with some of the Navy special operations riggers about their tests on tube stoes I decided to bust a couple myself using a spring tension meter. I don't know about popping them with one stow locking another stoe or how I would make it do that so it could be tesed with a tension meter. Especially since tube stoes roll, how would I set that experiment up so they wouldn't? If you have done some tests with one stoe locking another tube stoe and you were able to get them to not roll off, was the required break force less than 90lbf? Anyway, back to the original question and point of the thread, do you have any insight into the best resources and methods for making my own tube stoes? It seems hard to have any sort of discussion about tube stoes without all the baglock conspiracy theorists popping out of the woodwork to start whining about rubber bands, it's like an insect infestation. They must hav some stock in a rubber band company or something. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  22. I finally got around to searching for and reading the article you mention. Nowhere in the article does it say that his opinion is that tube stoes cause bag locks. In fact, tube stoes are mentioned nowhere in the article! So I agree, "inbred" "ignorant" and "uneducated" would not apply to your friend. His aricle addressed stronger strength ruber bands that ultimately melted in high temperatures and caused baglocks. This is irrelevant to this tube stoe discussion because tube stoes have not been found to melt to peoples lines, they do break at 25lbf, and they have the advantage of rolling (reducing the chance of a baglock). Again, I have never seen a tube stoe cause a baglock, a tube stoe would not cause a baglock in a situation that a rubber band wouldn't, I have seen rubber bands cause baglocks because they were flat against the lines (where a tube stoe would have rolled and released the bag lock). I have seen rubber bands not break during bag locks. I repeat my statement: Tube stoes do not cause bag locks in situations that a rubber band wouldn't. It's an inbred theory passed around by the ignorant and uneducated. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
  23. Only 3 of each? So hard to choose! I'm voting for some all upright stuff because there are too many all head down blocks/randoms. Some of the eagle block ideas look really cool. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook

  25. There will be some VRW team tryouts and some head down ways going on at Skydive Houston in Waller if there are any freeflyers in the group. It'd be great to hook up with the Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma gang. 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
