  1. I wasn't talking about hop N pops. I was talking about the high yahoo factor. J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  2. Fantastic! It will be safer for the rest of us who applaud SDA new policys. J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  3. B.o.B is an awesome idea. It just sucks so bad he had to die for to "inform" the rest of the skydiving community. DZO's need to implement rules and enforce them. When I particpated in 2002 JFTC, we were told NO HOOK TURNS, yet at least 2 participants willingly and purposely did hook turns in the main landing area and I overheard them laughing and giggling because they got away with it and kept getting away with it. That type of mentality is what killed your friend Bob. That type of mentality will continue to kill our friends. 4. This almost sound like the old stats, on average, on how often people had reserve rides. But I think I was told an average of every 300 jumps not 150. Curious where you got your info. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  5. Is that just for the container or for a container and reserve? Sounds more like a container and reserve. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  6. Completely agree. Tunnel flying is flying in a tunnel. Skydiving is jumping out of an aircraft. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

  8. OH OH Kitty - the Germans are are here again for a week or two and they have these super hard hot bodies and don't like to wear much clothes. Life is good. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  9. That's probably right since we haven't had to listen or hear from that _ u _ t since she did her story on the widows of 9/11. Its nice to see that I am not alone in my disgust for her. J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  10. Not true. While a particular DZ may have an operating procedure or policy to the activity you speak of with such conviction, there is no law that prevents one from consuming a beer and jumping from a plane. The FAR’s make clear reference to jumping while “under the influence”, however the FAA does not define “under the influence” for skydivers. Doesn't this fall under Pilot in Command? 11. He needs signatures for ratings. If he wants to give up his rating he can renew on line. If not, he needs to be signed off. Maybe he is trying to hide something about his rating? J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  12. Depends on where you put the radio. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  13. Who are "they"? (the ones that say its not) J' Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  14. Some people think skydiving is a religion. Glad to see they were caught. Talk about bad karma. I would hate to stand next to any of them in a thunderstorm. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  15. WORCESTER, MA -- One little girl's behavior caused her entire family to get kicked off a plane. The kulesza family boarded an Airtran flight last week when their 3-year old daughter, Elly, refused to take her seat before takeoff. FAA rules state that children age two and older must have their own seat and be wearing a seatbelt during takeoff. Says the flight was already delayed 15 minutes and in fairness to the other 112 passengers on the plane the crew made an operational decision to remove the family. "We're humiliated, humiliated. Being asked to be removed from a plane because of a three year old. Humiliated," says Julie Kulesza, the child's mother. The couple refused Airtran's offer of 3 free-round trip tickets and say they will never fly the airline again. This is the results of the poll taken on WREG.com's website I agree, the airline had no right to kick the family off the plane. 15% I disagree, the family should be able to control their child. 85% __________________________ What do you all think? IMO, I agree with the Airline. You can't hold up an airplane with 100+ people for a 3yr old. J Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

  17. I was probably 30 years old when I found out what it meant. I grew up in a town of about 3000 but it was available. I did it on occasion in high school but never remember hearing 4:20 in relation to it. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  18. Then buy a calendar Give me your address I can send you a diversity calendar my company passed out to all the employees. So much money wasted.... j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  19. My company does. Gay/Lesbian, Transexual month. They will give the employees access to every gay pride parade in the country. Seriously. My company is big on diversity. judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

  21. Oh I know, I just wanted to make sure the original poster knows they can fall out the front too. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  22. Actually we have lost a few people who fell out of their rigs but only because their chest strap was undone when they left the plane. I will not use a back strap on a sport rig. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  23. What's wrong with the landing patterns we teach in the first jump course? At what point in someone's skydiving career do they they decide that the pattern taught in the first jump course is "wrong" or not cool. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  24. What exactly do you think the BOD should do? Rules don't work if they are not enforced locally. There will ALWAYS be that yahoo out there that knows better and when we least expect it they do something stupid and kill themselves and/or someone else. Again, what EXACTLY do you suggest that the BOD do to prevent this from continuing to happen. Personally I think if you ban hook turns and stupidly small canopies it could fix the problem, until then, even with all the education and coaching available, there are going to be those that don't/won't listen and will die. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  25. Go to a board meeting. ***Instructors paying taxes has nothing to do with this discussion so please spin that in another thread. PS: If somebody is making $100K a year you're getting no sympathy from me, regardless of your job. Even if you are working 80 hour weeks that still is about $24 an hour. Not bad. *** Whose asking for sympathy? You all are bashing him for making a living. There are alot of people who make alot more that do alot less. There seems to be alot of bashing going on over alot of assumptions. Do you have someone in mind that can do his job better cheaper? I'm sure the BOD would be open to suggestions. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
