I've read this whole thread and I don't get your point either. It seems like you have already done something or planned on doing something and are all pissed off that all the experienced people are telling you it would be stupid and very illegal in the US. Are you looking to try this stunt in the US? Are you looking to get a pilot in a lot of trouble? If you want to base jump, go jump a base rig from a fixed object or whatever they will let you get away with over in Europe. You might want to let the Memphis cops know that. When they do zero tolerance - that means ZERO. I always thought most give a +/- till I moved down here. I know too many people that got tickets in zero tolerance zones for 1-2 over the speed limit. The cops usually apologize but explain this is a zero tolerance zone. Does not matter how much beer is bought if there are people there all week long to drink it. They had the same problem in Thomaston when the hanger turned into an apartment complex. In my opinion, people living at the DZ is a bad idea because eventually they take on the attitude that it is their place and the regular jumpers are invading their home on the weekends. really? We try to get people to do Tandems if they have interest, but skydiving ISN'T for everyone. I would find a new place to jump if that is really the case. I had a canopy that he wanted. I let him jump it while he collected the money for it and after he put 100 or so jumps on it he gives it back stating "I'm gonna buy this on instead". I told him he needs to pay me for the jumps he put on the canopy. He just tucked tail and ran away. Integrity and Rob will never go together. It was from a former Skyride Employee stating all the dishonest shit they do, and the mention of Cary's brother being a big thug and possbile money laundering going on etc. the senders address didn't look like anyone I knew. Me too. I encounter people every day that feel they are entitled to drive in that left lane as slow and for as long as they want (usually from Marshall County, MS). interesting because the majority of people I know that actually skydive don't ever look at dz.com. I wouldn't use a poll you found on the internet, unless it can be backed up with real skydivers (not saying people on here aren't - just no way to really prove they are) Also, I would have to say that MAYBE 25% of the jumpers at my home dz swoop. My problem is, if I approach someone attempting to be a fast flying canopy pilot and does something unsafe or just plain stupid (fast or slow), they don't care what I have to say because I am not a fast flying canopy pilot (and can we go back to swooper because fast flying canopy pilot is just too much to type). I have asked the more experienced FFCP to talk to said canopy pilots and they usually do, but not all listen - til we tell their Dad.

Yeah, they will comment also when a Tandem has a less then stellar landing but they show more fear when they see the canopies landing especially fast. I'm not totally anti-swooping. and sorry John, you've been doing this long enough to be included with us relic's so don't fool yourself and lump yourself in with "the kids".
