  1. I'm not a rigger but someone I know had a reserve with a molar strap left around it. It was not found until the following repack. There was a picture of it in Skydiving Magazine some years ago. and no that would have not opened. KNOW YOUR RIGGER, MAKE SURE HE KNOWS HOW MANY TOOLS HE USES.
  2. have the lines gotten wet recently?
  3. TPC Golf course, and approach to Memphis Int'l. I'm usually looking up if I'm looking outside.
  4. WTS would love to have a dz.com boogie there this summer. Anyone interested?
  5. Brent, are you going to jump your new gear - provided it shows up, this weekend? or do we need to reserve the student gear with the 300 in it. You didn't mention the chipped tooth. Hope you feel better soon.

    Condolences

my condolences to the family and friends of Robert. I agree with LeFreak. I am a AFF JM and I tell my students that at 2000' I have to save my own life and they are responsible for their's so pull at your assigned altitude.
  7. NO, they shouldn't. Minds are like parachutes, they only work when they are open.
  8. I went through the course last May. The course will be as stressful as you make it. What I found out was every Course Director has a different agenda. Rick Horn was my course director and he was great, but unfortunately, i had been practicing and training with someone who had been with a different course director so I basically went there knowing nothing but managed to pass with Rick's and Mark's help. Rick has a web site www.rickhorn.com that has information that the course material you get from the USPA does not necessarily include. Unless they have changed the video, its only good for a sleeping aid or paper weight. I can't tell you how to keep your cool and keep a good attitude, but allot of horror stories are hype. Just try to remember (this is true in most cases), they (the evaluators) are there to help you. If you have a question, ask. Find out exactly what they want to see and hear and do it. Best of luck to you. Judy
  9. If you are going through the AFF Certification Course. Find out who you Course Director will be, find out exactly what he wants to see and practice that. Each Course Director is different. I went though it in May of this year and passed. Rick Horn was our course director. He has alot information on his courses on his website at rickhorn.com. Best of luck!
  10. He claims to be a stunt man and was intentionally trying to land on the torch. His name is Terry Doe. It was a paraglider or Ultralight.
  11. My name is Judy Miracle, I sell agency bonds to other broker/dealers to pay for my skydiving. Its boring, its sucks but it pays the bills. Blue Skies
  12. I agree that we shouldn't teach something we are going to take away but the problem of stability has been brought up and that the student would become more unstable at pull time with the wave off. Any thoughts on this. I liked the Holiday Inn comment.
  13. Just looking for feedback regarding AFF and the Wave off vs 5 5 signal, and when to incorporate it into the dive. Should we start at level 1 or wait and why?
