  1. I'll be in Austin, TX, this weekend for business and have some free time Saturday morning. Wendy, you going to be in town? Anyone else interested in a couple early morning jumps? CSA #699 Muff #3804
  2. Lisa I think I will be in northcentral Austin. I'm staying about 11 miles from the airport where 35 & 290 intersect. Its a 5 star hotel called Super 8. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  3. I'm going to be in Austin this weekend and hope to find some free time on Saturday morning. What is the closest DZ to Austin? I'm not familiar with the area this is the time before my second trip there. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  4. I like to see the aircraft that turned 184 into a curly dog. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  5. So, you haven't answered the question yet. How did you get your little boo boo? Were you trying to swoop the beer line like a newbie? Be careful of the percoset. A large majority of people who take it end up going through some sort of withdrawals after quitting it. I know this first hand after taking 1-2 pills a day for a month after my last cancer surgery. I spent two days of hell not being able to sleep, feeling like my skin was wanting to crawl off me and getting very moody over the littlest things. I personally will never take the stuff again. Wish you a speedy recovery. Oh, take calcium supplements to help in the healing. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  6. It looked like a lot of fun. I wish I could get the old dogs here in WA to start actively jumping again. Will see you all in May for the WR camp in Cali. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  7. Seeing as how I have spent all my money on an engagement ring I'm unable to attend this year. I will however, be seeing you all in May and October for the WR selection camps in Cali even if it means maxing out my CC to do so. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  8. I'm a toadsucker just don't have the shirt and coin yet. I know to stay away from chico and I'm perfectly happy just admiring the ladies from below. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  9. Seeing as this is a 100-way and the last planned record attempts, I don't think finding a 100 plus jumpers will be a problem. Everyone who has an ounce of talent will be trying out for the team. I know I'll be trying out as soon as I get another 3/4 of an ounce of talent. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  10. This gives me an IDEA! There are countless groups in this sport like the MUFF MUFF brothers and the pink mafia. I haven't heard of any for CRW and I propose we create one just for us. Keeping to Kevins chicken theme it should be called the "headless chicken club" and it consists of passing a headless rubber chicken from one jumper to another while under canopy. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  11. Since it is 400 I think you need to go buy some beer and take it up with you, then dock on everyone, Bi-plane and hand them a beer. To finish the dive do a down plane or a double bi-plane down plane. Sure wish I had people willing to do CRW with me at my home DZ. I would love to do a drag plane into a down plane for my 500th. Rock Gym

Just curious how high it was that you were climbing and what kind of padding did they have at the bottom, since neither one of you was on belay by the looks of the pics. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  13. My favorite jump would have to be from an Air Force C-5 after dropping 3 HMMWV's out the back. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  14. We were planning on doing flower bombs one day at the DZ until one of the DZO's/pilot showed up and informed us that it was illegal to drop anything from the air. I think he thought we would be dropping them from the plain and not from under canopy. Either way the only thing allowed to fall from the sky according to him is skydivers and a cutaway main. There are some guys on the video "Crosswind" who are doing 2 or 3-way BASE and tossing oranges to each other. The oranges fell to slow. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  15. He looked a little hairier last time I saw him. It was March so he was probably still wearing his winter coat. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  16. So thats where my closing pin went. It was attached to one of my dog tags and now all I have left is the tag and no pin. If any of you talk to her let her know I want my pin back. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  17. What is your average opening length 600-800, 800-1,000, longer than a 1,000 feet. I like my canopies to open in about 600ish. What's your normal deployment speed? Throw in a track, hard arch or de-arch and slow as much as possible? CSA #699 Muff #3804

    AOL's Gold Rush

Just curious for those who have AOL are playing the Gold Rush game and if so are looking for some buddy players. I have solved all 10 the challenges that have been unlocked so far. The 11th challenge is scheduled to be unlocked in 10 minutes. I'm sure 12 and the Final 13th for round 1 will be unlocked today as well. PM me if your interested in buddy play. I want my share of the 2.2 million being given away. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  19. I picked up a complete (used) set up at Z-Hills. Sunshine Factory has complete set ups or parts to make your own. I would like to find some kind of hard housing that can hold 2 jack the rippers at opposite ends and will fit on my chest strap behind my alti. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  20. You ever notice if you say one negative thing about a manufacturer on this site a company rep. jumps right in to help with whatever you may need. Bobby- Despite the less than great feed back about Atairs customer service I still like the reviews I have received about the Cobalt. What were your problems with Atair. PM me if you want. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  21. If you read my post again I was NOT happy with the Saber 2 or the Safire 2. I will look at the Fusion as I'm keeping my eyes open to all possibilities and not what I think is a cool canopy or name. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  22. True but in order to "surf it out" that would require bottom end lift to keep the canopy in level flight. The canopy I jumped had no bottom end lift. So, there was no possibility for a surf. I even tried taking a wrap thinking the steering lines were to long, some result. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  23. hjumper33- I did demo a Saber 2 before purchasing my current canopy. I didn't like openings as it always had end cell closure that caused the canopy to dive and spin in the direction of the closure. Sub terminal openings were great. I did like the landings it has great flair, its the openings that have made me not like the canopy. rhys - I did demo a safire 2 and the openings no matter how I packed it took 800-1,000 feet to open, to long for me. The canopy has great slow flight I'll give it that but spins up then it is stalled. The landing sucked as there was no flair forcing me to run everything out. If I want to run it out I'll jump my lightning. I was having to flair at 20 feet and drop it strait down. CSA #699 Muff #3804
  24. I don't plan on limiting myself. The Cobalt is #1 on my list to demo and i had never thought about the other two. Just want some feed back as all. I'm looking for a good all around canopy that isn't a swoop machine with a long recovery arc. What I want is something I can progress my swoop skills with but at this time is forgiving. At this point in time I have no desire to progress beyond a 90 degree turn whether it be a toggle or front riser. CSA #699 Muff #3804
