  5. I don't know if this system is the same I've seen and jumped on my first jumps in Italy with a round canopy (military rig - CMP-55 / MT10), but during ground training I saw 2 times a riser release due to a bad closing sequence on a very similar system. The 2nd plate which cover the 1st closing hook can easily hide a bad lock, giving you a bad day... I don't like it at all for BASE... If you are concerned about a riser release, go for integrity risers... 3,2,1,C-YA!!! V. BASE #1075 / BMI #I-002 / PFI #042 / EGI #104

  11. Just received this... I hate spammers... ---------------------------------------------------- CAN YOU BE SINCERE? From: solange555 Date Sent: Mar 8, 2005, 5:10 AM CAN YOU BE SINCERE? From : Mr.Mohamadou. Abidjan - Cote d'Ivoire. West Africa. E-mail : [email protected] Attn : Director, If I must be fair to myself and to all, I would want to believe that this mail may keep you a little uneasy considering the fact that we do not know each other but frankly, that's the primary reasoin why I chose to contact you. I really am so sorry as I never meant to put you off-guard by what I intend to tell you here and will appreciate it greatly if you do understand totally my situation and position regarding the subject matter that I am divulging here. The political situation in my country here, Cote d'Ivoire has indeed dealt a great blow to me and my family. I have considered many options regarding my condition and resolved that I must forge ahead with my life if not for any toher thing to fulfil my dreams and the good intentions of my father who was murdered in cold blood by some group of rebel vagabonds. Their gruise was that my late father was suspected to be opposing their political ambitions with his wealth hence he was marked and eventually eliminated. My late father was a very wealthy businessman and contractor and excelled in all his endeavours. I was away at school in Ghana when I got the news of my father's assasination early last year and felt devastated as my father was everything to me. The assailants capitalised on the rebel activities in my area Bouake to kill my father as they claimed that he didn't want to join their group and fight the government hence he would be killed. The governement was handicapped to do anything since the rebels controlled the town till now. When I came back, I was advised not to stay in the area since my father has been buried already. However, before now, I am aware of the fund ($17.5m) he deposited with a bank here in Cote d'Ivoire which he intended to transfer overseas for investments which he did not achieve following his sudden demise. He made me the next of kin to the fund and had before now explained a whole lot of things concerning the fund to me in the event that he is not able to carry on with the project. I have tried severally since the sudden death of my father to have access to the fund but was denied as according to the bank officials, the agreement of deposit the bank had with my late father, I should not be allowed to have a direct access to the fund unless I am 22 years age or I should have someone who is older than the stipulated age to interced on my behalf with my consent. This is why I am contacting you now to help me get the fund released and transferred into your account in your country so that you could have me come over to your country to complete my education while you take care of the investment of the fund. I shall be glad to get your positive response so that I will proceed to giving you the bank contact details to make the contacts and request for the release and transfer of the fund to you. Awaiting your response, I remain as always, In His loving arms, Mohamadou.

  16. I'm completely with you!!! I think few more bucks are a good choice for a lot of more safety... 3,2,1,C-YA!!! V. BASE #1075 / BMI #I-002 / PFI #042 / EGI #104
  17. So is it possible to have that attachment point from the normal manufacturer? Nice! I think it would be better and safer also for beginners to have that kind of attachment point to avoid the risk of an asymmetrical PC with all the related problems... Why not to produce the PC's standard with that system? 3,2,1,C-YA!!! V. BASE #1075 / BMI #I-002 / PFI #042 / EGI #104
  18. YO Tom! You mean something like this? (see attached pics) When I jump low, I use some custom PC's made by one of the best riggers here in Italy, and a very well known BASE jumper...
  19. Was not a too short delay, 4 sec., with a 36" PC? 3,2,1,C-YA!!! V. BASE #1075 / BMI #I-002 / PFI #042 / EGI #104
  20. My choice is BR Vertex2! So, I voted for "Others"... 3,2,1,C-YA!!! V. BASE #1075 / BMI #I-002 / PFI #042 / EGI #104
  21. YO! I was jumping some time ago with a guy who was using a BR Vertex with a bridle that catched my attention. In fact, this bridle had all the 2 pins sewn, in a different manner than my bridle. I own a Vertex2 with the lower pin not sewn on the bridle. I asked the guy why he was jumping that setup, but he told me he was using it because he heard rumors about some trouble with the floating pin. I've jumped my rig in different ways, from 0,5 sec. delay to terminal and I never noticed any pin hesitations. Anyone can explain me better if are there any troubles with floating pins? Thx in advance! 3,2,1,C-YA!!! V. BASE #1075 / BMI #I-002 / PFI #042 / EGI #104

  24. Maybe I remember wrong, but I need to find that email in the tons of archived msgs on my home PC... However, I usually pack my PC just before the exit (of course if I don't need to climb with my rig on and when the object gives you that chance) because I've been told by an experienced jumper that the ripstop can have a sort of "memory" if packed for a long time... And I don't like it... 3,2,1,C-YA!!! V. BASE #1075 / BMI #I-002 / PFI #042 / EGI #104
