I sometimes have dreams where I am running and gradually my strides turn into me being in the air for a coupla hundred feet at a time - then I am flying. Last week I had my first skydiving dream. It was a solo jump (haven't done a solo yet) and everything went beautifully. I must have been skydiving for 5 or 10 minutes when I pulled. I woke up when I was under canopy. One interesting things about dreams is that most people dream in color, but almost all dreams occur in low light "scenarios" which leads people to think that they dream in black and white. _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"

Why are all the lines stowed together rather than each side being stowed seperately, either on each side or zig zagging kind of like how shoes are laced? By this I mean each side crossing the other side between stows. It seems like since the bridle pulls the deployment bag at the center, when the lines are stowed together it would cause the bag to "dance" back and forth during deployment because of the force being off center, whereas if each side were stowed opposite the other the bag would come out straight, pulling two opposite stows at the same time. I probably am not explaining this very well, but, if you can picture a shoe being a d-bag and the grommets being stows, if both laces were stowed on the same side at the same time, the shoe is going to tip to the next stow when it is pulled, whereas if it were laced normally it would pull evenly. Is there any reason why bags aren't stowed this way? Would it make any difference whatsoever? One thing that has helped me tremendously so far is dirt diving the dive flow, not freeze framing it, but working methodically through it several times perfectly. You know your emergency procedures, you know your dive flow and have commited it to muscle memory. You will do great! _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"

Dell refurbs are often a great deal. You can get the same hardware often cheaper that way, still with a full warranty. Right now is a Inspiron 1600 with 1.6 g proc same screen and 512 ram and CDRW for $1000 US Personally I like Dell or Toshiba's product and am not afraid to buy refurbished to save $$ Also if you currently have a laptop that is getting a bit slow, you can upgrade to a 7200 rpm harddrive and add memory, which will possibly give you 6 mo to a year more usage out of it. _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"

Perfect sense. As my canopy opened this weekend after my horrible pull sequence I was like "DAMMIT!!"...then...ooooh Im under canopy...sweet! Opened on heading and soft, did my 3 S's and I was good to go. Still pissed about my bad pull, but all in all a good skydive and I will learn from it! _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"

This could be completely different pain, but, the last two jumps I did with just boxers under the jumpsuit. The first jump my shorts bunched up pretty hard on opening and left some bruising. I haven't had any problems since though. _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"
