  1. There are two tunnels I know about locally to use. One is Flyaway in Pidgeon Forge TN, and the other is BodyFlight in Maggie Valley NC. Can anyone give me pro's and con's about both of these? I hear Flyaway doesn't have enough air to truly simulate freefall, is this true? Thanks very much ~joe~ _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"

  4. I do agree with you about his voice overs. But if you are an avid skier or snowboarder - about november the new warren miller film comes out, and everyone gets together to drink and laugh and have a swapmeet and watch the new WM film. Plus, his films are now often on OLN (outdoor life network) and it is good exposure to the non skiing public. Skiing and snowboarding are growing sports, and, although I know skydiving is much more dangerous than land based sports, everything I read says that the numbers of active participants are shrinking. I just would have thought that someone would be getting footage out there for the public at large, even if it weren't done in the corny WM fashion. And although WM is VERY old now and doesn't shoot most of the footage on his video anymore, for years and years he did it successfully all by himself. More than anything my question was not about someone specifically like WM, but someone who is successfully getting good footage with a voice over that will explain what is being shown to those who dont have any idea what the moves or styles are, AND getting them excited about it at the same time. _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"
  5. I don't have a hybrid, but my civic gets 45 mpg after doing some headwork on it. It was getting about 25 to 30 mpg. As far as the beeping, its most likely just a reverse buzzer for people around you. I found a site that explains how to easily disable it. http://priuschat.com/forums/kb.php?mode=article&k=7 _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"

  16. Heya Mark! Thanks again for a great time the other day. I have watched my video like 100 times and have been looking at where and when I screwed up, so I hope to be a bit better this time, especially with my legwork (yikes!). I probably will only be able to get 1 jump this weekend due to needing to replace an axle on my car (damn cv-boot tore) so im gonna be a bit broker than I expected, but screw it - ill do 1 class anyhow, and I think Bill and Karen are still coming and going to do a jump each, although I don't know for sure about that. Can't wait to get there - my car is already packed and rdy to go Thanks for the welcome! ~joe~ _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"

  19. Hello overthere! Hi, I just made my first ever skydive on Saturday and I'm AMPED! My boss went for the first time a coupla weeks ago, and he said I HAD to try it. I wasn't at all sure about jumping out of a plane, but he said he'd pay for it, so I went with him to Skydive the Farm, in northwest GA. I have to say, the people there put me right at ease, and I had a great time. I decided on the AFF jump 1 over a tandem after talking to the instructors. I was scared absolutely out of my mind at first, but did my first CoA at 13,000 feet and 3 practice grabs then the second CoA about 9,000. The feeling was NOT what I expected. After I had time to mentally review the jump, I am ready for more! I can't wait to start working on the next jump! Props to everyone at the Farm, I had a wonderful time and will be back next weekend, weather permitting. Anyhow, I just wanted to stop by, since I have been lurking, and officially say hello. I am a 30 year old data and networking systems installer, and my other interests are scuba diving, snowboarding, and heli-boarding. I like my scuba deep and clear, my snowboarding deep and steep, and my heli-boarding however I can get it. Not sure about what I want out of skydiving, except to have fun, yeah! If you happen to be at skydive the farm this weekend coming up, look for me! I have a shaved head and a cooler full of beer for when the sun goes down. ~joe~ _________________________________________ "Knowledge is Power!"
