  1. She got pied really well and then sneered "Is that all you got?!". So then she got sprayed with at least a dozen bottles of Champagne. Actually, I think Champagne helps cleanse the slimy feeling of whip cream. She definitely knew there was more after the pies. I just don't think she knew exactly what that was... - Chris Norton Vivid Views: Thousands of skydiving pictures online
  2. Pictures have been posted for Carol Clay's 15,000th Jump and what was to be attempts at breaking the Virginia state record. Although we never quite got the number of people or all the aircraft that was needed, a good time was had by all. Organized by Roger Ponce, the group successfully completed a 50-way for Carol Clay's 15,000th freefall skydive and went on to complete a 54-way and a 73-way. Additionally, 38 skydivers set a new POPS Virginia state record. There are many after hours pictures taken with my digital point-and-shoot and full camera image files, as always, are available for FREE download. Go find yourself and your friends, even Carol getting her Emerald Freefall Badge and Penta Ruby Wings. Only 10 people in the world are known to have accumulated at least 15,000 freefall jumps. You will find all the event pictures from this link Forum Moderators This is not advertising, I have permission from Sangiro to post announcements of new pictures. Contact me if in doubt. Thank you. - Chris Norton Vivid Views: Thousands of skydiving pictures online
  3. With great difficulty! In all honesty, that shot is hard to do because it's a challenging manual exposure meaning I couldn't use auto anything from the camera. It involves tables and calculations and some educated guessing to make minor adjustment to some variables. The exposure was more than one second during which I set up my flash to fire 4 times. Each flash in the frame is only 1/4 of the total output possible. With such a weak light, you need something reflective to help. You can see what I'm talking about by looking at the jumper's clothing and his canopy. - Chris Norton Vivid Views: Thousands of skydiving pictures online
  4. That's easy. Just right-click on the desktop and choose "Properties". Then select the "Screen Saver" tab. Then click the "Settings" button. From there you can change the duration each image is displayed from the default 7 seconds to something longer. - Chris Norton Vivid Views: Thousands of skydiving pictures online
  5. markharju was almost correct. I had linked to a web site 2 years ago that was about skydiving. Since then, that web site updated their home page to link to 1-800-SKYRIDE. So I never actually linked to 1-800-SKYRIDE directly and I have now updated my text also. - Chris Norton Vivid Views: Thousands of skydiving pictures online
  6. Absolutely not. I hate SpyWare and I hate SPAM too. My plain easy to read privacy policy: http://vividviews.com/privacy Basically I don't want your personal information and I don't want people to steal my stuff. (I give much of it away for free.) I know it was a joke but I wanted to chime in anyway - Chris Norton Vivid Views: Thousands of skydiving pictures online
  7. Regarding advertising, I repeat that I am not trying to sell or trade anything with this screen saver. In fact, I've disabled the free user registration that's usually required for downloading my web site's content. The watermark on each of my screen saver images is to protect them against image theft. Without a watermark, anyone can use them and claim them as their own. In fact, one of the very first images I put on the internet did not have a URL mark and I found it was used on one of the 1-800-SKYRIDE partner web sites. I had to go to great lengths to get it removed. So PLEASE tell me where I have a link to 1-800-SKYRIDE. I certainly have never placed a link to them in any of my pages and if you've found one I definitely want to know where and how it got there. One final thought. Sangiro himself suggested to me long ago that I should post in the forums when I add new pictures to my web site. I still have the saved email so I hardly think that giving away a free screen saver with my pictures watermarked for their protection qualifies as advertising. If it does then there would be no way for me to ever share my work freely with the skydiving community via these forums. Personally I think that would be a sad loss for everyone including anyone else who might want to share their passion. Hopefully I've cleared up any misconceptions here. Cheers! 14. Just wanted chime in and say that I purchased this camera and have put it through its paces in freefall. Bottom line: I LOVE this camera No problems with any type of "floating iris" issue as found on some other 3 chip cameras. I also carved head down around someone while the sun was approx 45 degrees off the horizon so the camera had extreme backlight with the sun in the lens and with the sun behind the camera and all points in between. The autoexposure exceeded my expectations keeping well saturated colors while the sun was directly in front of the lens without darkening the shadow side of my subject. The exposure system also did a great job at maintaining a balanced image throughout the carve and did NOT "hunt" around by overexposing and then underexposing as some other video cameras I've used in the past. The only complaint I have about the camera is the AV and LANC port are on the right side of the viewfinder (opposite the LCD) which makes them virtually inaccessible if you side mount the camera. I've found though that a Cam Eye II right angle LANC plug does just fit in the port with it side mounted for my setup but I have to unmount it to remove the plug. Your results may vary. I can live without a firewire port on the camera. It's only available on the docking station. I'm also impressed with the new BlackBox that Cookie Composites is manufacturing for this unit: http://www.cookiecomposites.com/proddetail.php?prod=1BB1000 - Chris Norton Vivid Views: Thousands of skydiving pictures online
