i'm gonna go with chuck on this one. swoop the bag, but grab it with my teeth cuz it looks cool that way, run the blades and carve it last minute over to my friend with the intentional cut-away, extending my hand for the beer i have earned. uhhh, oh wait, i forgot, i am a chick and apparently we can't even land our shit, let alone swoop it. so i guess in reality, i would try like hell to keep my eye on the bag as i deploy, but lose it when my not-so-stellar body position results in line twists, and as i finally get my canopy under control, i search frantically for the bag, seeing as it is my duty to play the freebag search and rescue team of 1, and as i fixate on the bag, i lose track of my patttern, cutting off two other jumpers under canopy on final approach, eventually landing downwind about a mile from the freebag i was aiming for, where someone has to eventually pick me up in the little golf cart. yes yes, that sounds more like it. sorry, slow day here, and this looked like a post meant for silliness. the debate about female landing abilities always rolls me on the floor. well, hell, the debates about any non-pc statement in here usually end up pretty damn entertaining. don't hate me cuz i'm pointless. well, after seeing two reserve rides before noon at elsinore, grasshopper and i decided to head for perris, to see what the vibe was over there. (leaving my rig at elsinore, so that i wouldn't be tempted to gung-ho it for one quick load with the rest of the .com family.) after taking two steps and looking up to see j.c., i screamed with joy and attacked him and knew things must be going better over there. WRONG. after an hour of wandering around with j.c, i had to let him go to take a student up, and that is when i ran into mark (shark) and viking and carl, etc. and they said that nelson broke his leg. ugh. poor nelson!!! then i turn around to see someone turn right into the ground, and out came the police, the fire department, and the paramedics. man. then, after no sight of kimmer, zclubber, or michelle...i decided to retreat back to my comfort zone, elsinore. poop. sorry i missed you guys. i think giving this record thing another shot in a few months is an awesome idear. then we can have a kimmer, a clubber, and even a michelle on the load. and maybe, since he can't join in, we can just set nelson up with an ice chest full of beer and see how loaded we can get him by the end of the day. hee hee. and maybe next time, we can plan it for one day. so we are all coordinated and what not. i dunno. anywho, i would love to give jumping at perris a shot, but what do you guys think about maybe going for the record over at elsinore next time? ooh ooh, perhaps we could link it with the skydiving chicks rock boogie in october...i know the guys would be all for that. ha ha ha. well...hmmm, guess that is a month or two away and we can talk about it then. k, chat at ya later guys! Steve Crawford Gravity Xtremes Skydiving Gear 1.256.747.8985 [email protected] steve is a super nice guy that is trying help skydivers avoid the pain of high prices. i didn't buy my rig from him because i had already found what i wanted in the classifieds, but he was super helpful along the way and he hooked me up with a brand new cypres for cheap. he is a funny guy with a funny accent who has a day job that pays the bills and does this on the side to help skydivers. hit him up and tell him what you're looking for and he may be able to help. but above all, check around. there are a ton of options out there and they all have good deals here and there depending on what you are looking for.

SO has anyone in here actually participated in one of the SSL meets? I am kind of nervous because I haven't the foggiest as to what I have gotten myself into...and yet, I am totally excited. All I know is that I am part of a 4-way team and I will be making 6 judged jumps. Ha, so much for being prepared. Well, we'll have to cross our fingers that the handicap is based on jump numbers, because that is probably my best shot at helping the teams score. HA ha!

sooooo...i started jumping in january and began exploring used gear in late february. i contacted sunpath and even pd in search of what gear i would buy if it was brand new, i spoke to my rigger, my dzo, and pretty much everyone and their brother, and after i figured out what i wanted, i started the search through the classifieds. i contacted all of the people who had postings that looked interesting and i had them fully detail what they were selling. when it came down to it, i finally found exactly what i wanted, for a price that was reasonable and the seller and i created a contract that allowed me to demo the gear for a week and if i didn't like it, i would send it back on my bill...i paid COD through UPS. funny thing, he was one of the first postings that i saw and we talked throughout the three months, and by the end of it, he had dropped his price for me by $400. AND! that time let me get to know him and all the little details about his rig and its usage, so i really knew who i ws buying from and what i was getting. long story short, i started the process at the end of february and had the gear in my hands at the end of may. long process, but it was worth it because i got exactly what i wanted. took three months, but i would rather take the time and end up with the gear that is right for me, and that is in good shape, than make a hasty purchase and end up hurt or with bad gear, or both. so good luck with your search...just remember that this is a big fat purchase you are about to make, and not only that, it is a purchase that will be in charge of saving your life. take your time and choose wisely!

Anyway, I'm Lara, and my father and I together run a computer school in southern CA that most likely competes with the schools that Sinister works for...(hey Sin, wanna come work with a fellow skydiver?) I rarely teach the classes and try not to get stuck with the tech stuff, so most of my days are filled with meetings where I try to convince corporate bigwigs that it is not okay for their staff to look at a mouse and say, "what is that?" But that is just temporary...anyone who knows me will tell you that I am convinced that I am destined to win the lottery. So when the millions start rolling in, watchout because I may just go berzerk and fly all of you out for a dz.com boogie at my own personal dropzone. WOOHOO!

now shark when i said i love jumping with you, did you also understand that phrase was to make a second point which is that we are going to trample you guys at the SSL? i sure hope you understood the full meaning of my statement. hee hee. okay, so i have e-mailed a few of you, but i guess this is my first real post. crap, does that mean beer? anyway, i just thought that i would throw my two cents in here because i saw regina's article thingy up on the homepage. the word about this boogie was bumping around all over elsinore this weekend and it looks like it is just going to rock beyond belief. i cannot wait for other chicas to turn points with. as a bellyflyer, i find myself to be the lone source of estrogen in nearly every dive i make. so i am totally looking forward to this boogie. (now don't get your panties in a ruffle, shark, you know i love jumping with you!) and hey, maybe by october, i'll be able to do a few freefly jumps with the girls...considering after 85 jumps, i did my first freakin sitfly this past weekend. damn, is that more beer? well, anyway, i am not much of the forum contributor, but i sure like to read them from time to time. so anyway, yeah, i'm rambling, as i often do. okay, anyway, SKYDIVE CHICKS ROCK! woohoo!
