  1. WOOHOOO! Thanks for your PHAT donation TitaniumLegs! DZ.COM donations total out to $150 so far!!! YAY! Hitting 60% of my goal is so exciting!!! It's crazy to see! That totals out to be $1,190.00! HOORAY!
  2. UPDATE! hey everyone...just a little update for all those that sent messages cheering me on.... i've raised $920 in the past week, so i am already at 46% of my goal. hooray!
  3. edit: ...completely nude guy except for what appeared to be some sort of helmet with a camera affixed to it... i wonder if footage of that would qualify for skydivingmovies.com ?
  4. dude...that was totally worth the time it took to read, and more! i'm sending this over to my brother..he has found himself in similar positions and he too has *ahem* temper issues at times. so i understand how hard it was to get creative instead of getting violent. you get a lot of respect out of me for that!! GOOOOO NEKKID FREAKYDIVER!
  5. katie...i like your style... Secondary Entry: dil·do Pronunciation: 'dil-(")dO Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural dildos also dildoes Etymology: origin suspected to be of male decent used in conjunction with circumstances of inadequacey cover-ups Date: circa 1982 : male subject(s) of human decent acting in an un-manly or un-courageous fashion does this work too? time to start the weekend! i'm outta here!!!
  6. good timing... my friend had just instant messaged me and was rattling off how stressed out he was and freakin out at his job and that the end of the world was coming because he hasn't finished this project he's working on and blah blah blah...so i sent him the link. he stopped freaking out and has instant messaged me with the word dildo every 2 minutes since i sent it to him... fantastic!
  7. i wasn't sure what kind of amount i'd end up with in donations, so i didn't know what 10% of that would be... i chose a bail money donation, cuz it was open-ended. i guess i could make the condom donation a few times over if the amount ends up being more than $10 that i give to sangiro... mayeb those who donated can vote on what to give him...options listed here: http://www.dropzone.com/pub/donations.shtml hmmm...maybe this was a joke...slappie, i know you've been around long enough to have seen the donations page, right? i so confusededed.
  8. Hey JT! i'll take whatever kind of support you can give! sometimes a nice little BUMP is just as good as a donation! big thanks to: SHARK KATIEBEAR and MARCANDALYSSE (and TheRus...donation on it's way via snailmail) they donated, and for that, i'm super thankful! i am now at 27% of my fundraising goal of $2000! and i'm keeping track so that i can make sure sangiro gets the right amount in bail money submitted in honor of the dz.com support the boobies donations. thanks everyone for the well wishes and the $$!! WOOHOOOO!
  9. well...uhh...what if i get like grasshopper or shark to flash their boobs? no? that doesn't count? well, thanks anyway for promising to donate chachi! boob-flash or not! *** marky mark and the funky bunch...i made mention of your donations in my original post!!! i'm on it! don't think i wouldn't give you da props! *** woohoo! i'm currently at 9% of my goal of $2000. my website updates immediately with online donations. i forgot to mention that if you want to send a check, PM and i'll give you the details. checks are made out to "avon walk for breast cancer". thanks for tolerating my begging guys!!!
  10. WELL I HAVE BOOBIES! i'm not big on flashing my boobies, although, i have never had anything against those who do...and actually, i'm all for it. BUT what if, i offer something less entertaining, but still a nice gesture? like...uhh...i don't know, if i can get at least $250 in dz.com support, i'll post the picture of me from the britney spears costume contest i won a few years back? would that do? i thought offering the kickback to sangiro would be enough, but i suppose i can tack that on too. or is that totally uninteresting? hmmm... well, sorry for the boobie disappointment. in the meantime... THANKS MICHELE AND RUS! YOU GUYS ROCK MY WORLD!!!
  11. hey party people! this is in fact a boobie thread...well, kind of. not only that, it's a help SANGIRO thread. because i was not able to participate in Jump For The Cause, i fundraised for it a lot on the side (mostly with hottamaly). NOW, i will participating in an event in support of the boobie cause. i'll be walking 40 miles over 2 days, the first weekend in september. i'm required to raise $1750 , which will be a challenge, but is totally do-able. i came up with something for all of you out there that only have a little change to spare, but really like to help good causes.
  12. uhh...i have a computer school and could slot you a spot in our next session for cheap, but it would be a yuckie drive from bakersfield down to OC. PP is pretty simple and entertaining to learn. i was self taught in college and got by pretty easily. it's way more entertaining to try and learn on your own than something like access or excel. good luck!
  13. Woohoo! congratulations girlfriend! hey, actually, this is how i got my first freefly suit as well. aren't thoughtful boyfriends great!? high-5 to him! i would totaly get a two-piece. they are so freakin' convenient. i love mine. it's firefly and the two pieces fit together so well, it looks like a one-piece. sherry from firefly is no longer in CA, but you can e-mail her at [email protected] and she'll help you out with design options, color schemes and all of that. you can check out their fabric colors here. good luck with whatever you choose. it's always fun playing designer.

    Go Ducks!

it's anaheim's time to shine. i mean, if the angel's can win the freakin' world series, the ducks can seal up sir stanley's cup. i'm an orange county girl, so i've been a long time fan of both of these teams...i even have troy glaus' MVP bobble head on my desk here. but i will admit, the past year in sports has been a big surprise. it's been pretty neat. tonight's game ought to be worth watching for anyone even vaguely interested....fans and non-fans alike. Go Ducks!
  15. CONGRATS! Actually, on Saturday, I too returned to the sky. After 16 months stuck on the ground, I finally got back in the air where I belong. So I'll join you in a little "back in the air happy dance." Hooray for us! And hooray for neat people in our lives that help us get going again! -Lara
  16. it doesn't just take a "little punk without skills in a new car" to pull and jerk move like this. the guy that hit me was in his forties, driving a 15 year old truck...he swerved across 3 lanes behind a school bus to jam through a red light in a construction zone. i haven't been able to jump in over a year, i have about $20,000 in med bills, and they are now telling me that the other side will declare that i overtreated and that i'll be lucky to recoup half of the money i have put out of my pocket in an effort to heal. there are a lot of idiots out there people. and a lot of red-light runners. the extra minute you save is sooo not worth the potential for an accident. i know that sometimes it's hard not to just speed a bit through that light, but take it from someone that has been on the recieiving end of a red-light runner....it's just not worth it. attached is my car after the accident. i don't know when i'll be able to jump again. drive safe everybody.
  17. HA HA!! klingon! well, you wouldn't think it would make much of a difference. but a lot of people trail off the "ra" part of it, so you mostly only hear the first syllable...and that is where the big difference is. LAra, not LOWra it would be funny to hear somebody say J-LAH instead of J-LO. it sticks out. sorry, i know that is a lame example, but what are you gonna do?
  18. awwww dude, steve....how much $$$ you want as a reward for that post? you just made my day! btw: long time no see!
  19. have a friend with the same exact name ginny! and she has the same problems. it always leaves me baffled. and i find myself doing the same correcting thing people do for my name. i'm like "IT'S GINNY PEOPLE! HOW FREAKIN HARD IS THIS!?" i can usually keep my mouth shut, but it's the people that hear her say her name, and then look at it written, and say something differently. leaves me with a big fat WTF!? written all over my face.
  20. HELLO!!!?? THANK YOU PAUL QUADE! some people call me croft/crofty as well...mainly shark. but you know, with the new one around the corner, i've still heard and awful lot of reference to LAURA croft on the tv. ugh.
  21. gee, and i thought i had it bad. my name is lara...not laura. it came froma movie called dr. zhivago. it is pronounced Lah (as in fa la la la) Rah (as in rah rah rah, sis boom bah...which i never actually said in my years as a cheerleader, but it seems to be widely recognized...ok, shut up lara). anyway, it doesn't SEEM that difficult to me, but apparently some people's mouth were just not meant to say it right. i get lair-ruh every now and then, i get laura a lot, sometimes i get people that won't even try because they know it is neither of those but they can't say the correct one, so they call me by a nickname. my foreign students mostly called me la la. i even have a few that are bound and determined to give it a shot every time they see me and the make some really funny noise that vaguely sounds like my name while they contort their mouth in some odd manner that you wouldn't think possible unless you witnessed it. i have a hand full of friends that call me by my correct name. most of the people don't know to say lara instead of laura. and sometimes the ones that do say it right, try and correct the ones that say laura, and it becomes this bizarre game of phonetics...and really by that time i have usually walked away to get a chili dog or something. it doesn't bother me much at all and i pretty much answer to anything...well, maybe not "pussyboy" *ahem*..but you know what i mean. wow...what a freakin' ramble fest. dude...and i was just going to say "i feel your pain."
  22. hey guys i just wanted to commend mandy (divaskychick) on her hard work on the elsinore website. being grounded has been really hard, but it's so nice to be able to catch up on weekend images via the around the dz section. it's good stuff...i especially like the clever captions.... *ahem* jake babylove?! oh i am going to tease him about that one for days. anywho, for those friends wondering, looks like things are going to be drawn out quite a while longer with the post-accident chaos. so i won't be out jumping as soon as i thought. thanks for all the support along the way though. it's really helped me keep from tearing my hair out over the past year or so. alrighty, hope everyone is having a wicked good day. big props to mandy (and christiaan) on the website. over and out for now.
  23. hey all! sorry i lag and haven't posted in just about forever. it's nice to see all the new faces! i just wanted to take a second to say how neat it was that Jump For The Cause sent out individual thank yous. (i'm sorry if this has already been posted about, i tried to scan for it before i started a new post.) anywho, we just got ours at my office and everyone is crowding around it to see the souvenir picture that was sent. most people gave personal checks, and so they got a letter thanking them individually. but we took the cash that was donated, and doubled it and wrote a check from the business itself, and now we have a nice letter thanking the office and a color photo of the record as well. fantastic! we have tons of people in and out of here and it will be nice to have the positive p.r. out for folks to see. kudos to such an awesome organization! my mom wears her JFTC T-shirt proudly and tells everyone that city of hope was the place that saved her life and the doctors and staff there now hold a special place in her heart...and that this amazing group of skydivers are now a part of that place in her heart. it's really neat to hear her sing the praises of this huge act of generosity. not only did JFTC pull off an outstanding event, but they maintained the highest level of professionalism and optimism throughout. our community is lucky to have a group like this representing us. thanks JFTC! Lara
