  1. pizza is for event registrants. instructors are to SERVE the pizza...not EAT the pizza. ha ha ha! kidding! KIDDING!!! we'll just supplement rich with beer. waterlog him prior to the arrival of the pizza and we should be good to go. i know i didn't get the chance to mention it at the meeting, but will you and rich participate in the team hit-n-chug? i hope so!!!
  2. very funny mark! i bid one penny. update to list...lew and ed have just added video helmet set up to the mix. a friend gave it to them for a donation and it is now up on the auction block. sounds like a great set up!!!
  3. alright you. it's too late, i already made the certificate, so no backing out now. you are donating a full day of pack jobs (yes i put a limit of 7 on the cert). and that is just that! and anniken is doing the same. so we have 2 full day of packing prizes. yaaaaaaaayyyy!!!
  4. good job gary! i am proud of you for giving it a go!!!
  5. ***okay, marie got to this first...but i am leaving my reply *** you get 1 raffle ticket with your goodie bag, but you have to be present (or have someone present) to participate in the raffle. so if you are having someone pick up your shirt for you, then they can take the bag too and snag your raffle ticket...either to watch/win for you or to keep/win for themself. as i mentioned earlier, the reason we have to have someone there is because of the way the raffle drawing is going to run... we're going to try a little different way to run the raffle. so that non-jumpers and jumpers alike can be assured a chance at prizes they'll enjoy, we're going to allow every other ticket to PICK THEIR PRIZE. those tickets that will not be a pick your prize ticket will be the items that would be good for everyone, movie tickets, restaurant certs, t-shirts, etc. the pick your prize tickets drawn will be able to choose from an amazing list filled with canopy and container discount certs, spa days at glen ivy, outings with instructors like a harley ride and breakfast with our school front man lob, reserve repacks, and there is even a few certificates for a full day of packing. good stuff huh? as it stands now (donations are still coming in) we'll be pulling over 50 tickets (probably more) in the drawing, so you'll have a damn good chance at getting a prize. so this process is why we have to have someone there to claim each drawn ticket. you can buy additional tickets at 1 for $5 and 3 for $10...i seriously think i am going to dig into my savings and buy $100 in tickets. i may be a bit out of control...oh well...
  6. gia gia bo bia! everyone is looking forward to your tasty jell-o shots. i know the instructors will not only appreciate their flavor, but also that you are donating your profits to the fund.
  7. oh jen! very cute! i think my parents are coming out too! we are totally going to have, like, a skydiver pta contingent!!! hee hee hee! good stuff! see you there!
  8. The bidding is on! We’ve had some great donations come through that have been put up for auction. The bidding is open already and will remain open through Sunday night (2/8). Anniken is handling the auction and you can reach her via the Skydive Elsinore office at 909 245 9939. You can request to be notified if someone has outbid you on an item, so you have a great chance at winning!!! You’ll have to get in touch with Anniken for the details on these items, but here are a few things up for bid: -Custom made surfboard of your choice by Jimmy Simplicio. -Talon, T2 Harness fitting up to 120 main. Very good condition! -Tony Suit (RW). Black with blue grippers in very good condition, size small. -Hawk Design Freefly suit. Black and white, size large. -New Bonehead “Millennium” helmet. Black, size large. -“Galaxy” Altimeter, brand new! -10 hours computer/network labor with our very own Cajones (ed)! You can call in and place a bid right now! These are some great donations and I think we’ll see some neat bids come through. Again, all the proceeds will go to the instructors!
  9. YAAAYYYY JP! i got to meet jp in the office when i was pow-wowing with the girls about the burnout benefit and jp registered for the event even though he knew he couldn't be there. BIG HUGZ!
  10. good question michele! here is the proposed rundown for saturday evening... sunset load - team hit-n-chug with instructors (we're still working on the details with this). we're hoping to have it set up where you have to land (time starts) and make your way over to your instructor teammate and then you both have to chug one beer each before time is stopped. i think it could be pretty darn funny. 6:00 pm - pizza arrives, thank you valley pizza and ultimate sorts pizza for donating that! 6:30 - the raffle begins. we're going to try a little different way to run the raffle. so that non-jumpers and jumpers alike can be assured a chance at prizes they'll enjoy, we're going to allow every other ticket to PICK THEIR PRIZE. those tickets that will not be a pick your prize ticket will be the items that would be good for everyone, movie tickets, restaurant certs, t-shirts, etc. the pick your prize tickets drawn will be able to choose from an amazing list filled with canopy and container discount certs, spa days at glen ivy, outings with instructors like a harley ride and breakfast with our school front man lob, reserve repacks, and there is even a few certificates for a full day of packing. good stuff huh? as it stands now (donations are still coming in) we'll be pulling over 50 tickets (probably more) in the drawing, so you'll have a damn good chance at getting a prize. so this process is why we have to have someone there to claim each dawn ticket. michele, we'll make sure someone will be takin' care of you, for sure! i'm really excited about this raffle and i think a lot of people will walk away with some really cool prizes AND the more people we have participate, the more the instructors will benefit from it. it's a positive outcome all the way around!
  11. thanks so much for asking! we're already having lots of calls from out of town angels!
  12. you are so cute rosa!!! we've been trying to hammer out a lot of the details (you know we have only had a week to put this event together so far..eeek! ) there is one kickin' raffle to be help saturday night. i'll post some more of the prizes on monday...we are trying to work it so that skydivers and non-skydivers alike will end up with prizes they can use. AND we have an amazing silent auction coming together which will be runnin' through sunday with the fantastic help of anniken. (sorry if i spelled your name wrong!! ) things are really cruisin' along at superspeed. yay! (michelle...because of the way the raffle is runnin' someone will have to be there with the winning ticket(s)...but i'll figure out something for you if you want some tickets. if anything, i'll have jake hold onto yours and participate for you or something like that. sound okay?) hooooooray instructor burnout benefit stuff!
  13. i wasn't sure if i should post this here too...but it can't hurt. The fire is out…but we’re still smokin’! Here at Skydive Elsinore, loads are turning, rebuilding is in full force, and our staff and instructors are hard at work. As you can see, it takes more than a fire to slow our dropzone down! With a lot of hard work from the entire Skydive Elsinore extended family, along with an amazing outpouring of donations of all kinds from individuals and manufacturers, we’re restoring our beautiful dropzone to a bigger and better state, and helping our team get back in action so that we can continue to offer you the best in service as a dropzone and home. As most know, our instructors have been faced with devastating personal loss as a result of the fire. Yet, they continue to offer up smiles and positive outlooks. They have picked up and regrouped, and they are thankful to have the ability to resume with what they do best…teaching! In an effort to help them get back on their feet with replacement gear for what they have lost, Skydive Elsinore is having a weekend event that will allow our fellow skydivers the opportunity to participate in fundraising simply by having a great time jumping! This event is: The Instructor Burnout Benefit When is it? February 7th & 8th (It’s coming up quick so start planning your visit now!) Who can play? Everyone who likes to have fun and wants to help our instructors get back on their feet. You don’t have to be a skydiver to register for this event and help out! What do I get for my $25 donation? You get $1 off every jump you make that weekend, an event t-shirt, a raffle ticket, event goodie bag filled with fun stuff AND the opportunity to help a very good cause! What else can I expect at the event? -A lot of hugs and thank yous from the instructors that you are helping! -An incredible “fire-side” raffle filled with loads of prizes ranging from free coaching, to reserve repacks, to gift certificates from restaurants and hotels in the area, and much much more! (So you don’t have to be a skydiver to enjoy many of the raffle prizes!) -Tons of load organizing! -Photo services from Joel Kiesel. Have Joel catch you on film landing and he’ll have a quality print available for purchase that day! (Joel is donating all profits to the instructor fund!) -A Saturday night party complete with bumpin’ music and fire spinners! -Lots of fun and much, much more! Come on out, makes some jumps and help out a good cause at the same time, what could be easier? We can’t wait to see you there! Let’s party down together and make this fundraiser an overwhelming success! To register or for more information, please give us a call at (909) 245-9939! Remember: You can register for the boogie even if you aren't going to be there. For $3 extra the dz will ship your shirt to you!
  14. good idea gia! i'll touch base with betsy and see what is going on with that. i sent over a write up for the e-mail a few days ago, but i know the have had their hands full over there.
  15. sounds good chica! thanks so much for your long distance-participation.
  16. Mar- You Rock! If Lew is able to pick up the shirt to give to you sometime soon, then just send $25. But if you would like the dz to mail you the shirt soon after the boogie, then send $28 (and a mailing address). It is totally up to you. We only need the extra $3 if the dz has to mail the shirt. If someone is picking it up, no need for the extra bucks. thanks for registering sister!
  17. will be there running amuck with boogie stuff...BUT, i could pause for a jump since i didn't get to jump with you at the chick boogie. was nice to meet you then though. hope we can catch each other on sat!
  18. "I CAN'T BE THERE BUT I STILL WANT TO PARTICIPATE" REGISTRATIONS You can call 909-245-9939 to register. Tell them you are mailing a check for the boogie and they will mark your name down to watch for a check to arrive. The check must be for $28 (please note Burnout Boogie on the check AND include the mailing address for where you want the shirt sent). The extra $3 will cover all shipping costs. When they get your check, they will mail you your boogie shirt. SO EASY!
  19. thanks lew! on monday i'll be posting a partial list of the prizes that we have so far for the raffle. seriously, we have a ton of awesome prizes!!! AND! we're leaning toward having the raffle saturday night so that you don't have to stop jumping on sunday to be present for the drawing. right now, we really need to get the word out to non-dz.commers. we've done pretty well keeping the buzz up in here, but with such short planning time, there has not been a lot of opportunity to get the word out on the ground at the dz's...so talk it up this weekend pretty please. we want to make sure this things is as huge as it can possibley be. sneak peek of what pd has sent me for the raffle: 2 Gift certificate for 35% a PD canopy 3 Katana back-packs (little red backpacks, perfect for helmet/accessories 3 PD t-shirts and they sent loads for the boogie bags too.
