  9. dude, you are awesome! thanks so much linda! i'll put the jell-o money into jake's pot. i know he'll appreciate it. i wish i could have been there to support the jello sales!!! sorry i missed it. next time though!!
  10. dude! as soon as i saw your super sweet donation waaaaaay back here, i posted the picture as promised. but just for you...i'll tack it on here again, even though it's not very exciting. i really like that statement! i'm gunnin' for more. of course, jake (who is so wonderful he promised to walk this with me) is still a bit short on his donations, so i'm going to try and help him reach his goal first.
  11. YAY REBECCA! I'm so glad you got to see this. i was hoping all of the people that donated would catch this. i'm so happy it brightened your day too! it is scary that every three minutes, another woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. get educated and stay healthy people! we're all affected by this disease! we can win this battle!!
  12. surprised at 9 people managing to give that much in donations?? tell me about it!!!! actually, there were some overwhelmingly generous donations that kind of caught me by surprise. really, it just made my heart swell. can't say thank you enough!
  13. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!! i came in this morning to work, tired and unmotivated and i checked my e-mail to find 2 new donations (and verbal encouragement) from michele and luna...and a note from the avon walk for breast cancer staffers saying that i had hit my goal of $2000 and surpassed it!! oh my craziness! and i even have more than $200 in checks on their way in the mail to add to it! a big thanks to all of the dz.commers that have supported this cause financially, and to those that helped out with words of encouragement and/or a friendly thread bump. dz.commers make up $575.00 of the total money i have raised so far. that is amazing! what a fantastic community! so as promised, 5% of that will go to SANGIRO's bail money out of my pocket...and well worth it. rounding up, that is $30! for their amazing generosity...big hugs to: shark katiebear marcandalysse titaniumlegs brains rebecca kenknight michele luna i'm still just blown away by the support that i have found right here in the forums. i'm more than inspired...i'm flying.
  14. dude...i totally understand the pain of a position that you have ended up in. i think it is great that the rigger is in touch with pd...and actually, i think it is a cool thing for the rest of the people curious about this post to hear. i know there was kind of a lot of negativity being thrown around and this seems like a positive step in the right direction. something that people might take example of in the future. it's a hard line between who's business it is when it is posted in the forums. i mean, lots of people air interesting stuff in here seeking advice/help/anything. i thought you would be open to discussion because you had posted in here previously. i didn't know that it would frustrate you more. it wasn't my intent at all. but i do think it is an important part of the story to share...being that the story had already been thrown out there. i'm sure a lot of people might have considered this a poopy lost cause and now, it seems as though there might be a positive outcome. so i'm glad that you replied. thanks for chiming in even though it's been such a pain for you.
  15. hey gia i know this probably puts you in an odd position considering the parties involved. but hey, it seems like you might have a nice opportunity to help remedy the confusion...maybe? do you, or the individual that offered the canopy to grasshopper, have contact with the rigger and the property manager? maybe if the property manager understood that it was stolen merchandise, he'd be willing to work out a deal with PD or something for less money. $400 goes back to the rigger, canopy goes back to PD and some "finder's fee" is awarded to the property manager. i mean if the property manager is any kind of good guy at all, he'll understand that this is a funky situation and that maybe the road that had been taken wasn't the best and now there is an opportunity to fix it?? maybe it is just a matter of all of the parties being in contact with each other to reach a better decision than the one that was made origionally. i know this is an odd situation for all parties involved, but maybe there is still an opportunity for the property manager and the rigger to end up doing the proverbial "right" thing. maybe it is a naive idea...and also, i know a hard one for you to have to take on, considering the relationships involved, but i thought you might be a good person to get this kind of idea out there. and i know that you must want what is best for all parties involved. anyway, i thought i'd throw that out there...hope it all works out.
  16. this is the best way i've heard this situation summed up so far. seems like poor choices were made...even if the parties involved had good intentions (i.e. the person that recognized the canopy/d-bag were really just trying to help, as opposed to that person actually just helping a friend make some money off of selling stolen property). but it seems as though the rigger could have really kind of simplified this whole process by taking proper procedures in the first place (i.e. checking out the serial number). now because he didn't, grasshopper and/or pd are stuck with trying to come up with a solution. i doubt any of them want to involve the police but it seems like that might be the only way to at least get some mediation about this issue. there seems to be a lot of defensiveness bumping around the parties involved and hopefully this difficult situation will be remedied soon. i know it's hard when local jumpers are involved in a frustrating situation like this.
  17. YYAAAAAAYYY!!! dz.commers steppin' up!!!!! i've just jumped to 88%, thanks to donations from: Rebecca and KenKnight and a nice bump from Casie WOOHOOOOOOOOO! i love this community!
  18. hey everyone... just an update...i am at 86% of my $2000 goal. so exciting! if anyone is still interested in helping out you can CLICKY HERE! remember that 5% of all donations from dz.commers are returned out of my pocket and into sangiro's bail fund. i'm waiting until i hit my goal to make the big donation from the dz.com contributors into the bail fund. thanks again to: shark katiebear marcandalysse titaniumlegs and brains together they donated $250!!! thanks for all the financial and emotional support guys! i'll keep you posted!
  19. oh my hotness! i have a friend visiting for a week from virginia and she has never been to vegas. (i know, i can't believe it either.) we're heading out on sunday for a few days. i'm not sure if we'll be able to make the walk from the valet to that casino door in that kind of heat! thank goodness one of the cures for heatstroke is immediate contact with a blackjack table. hey jt, where does one go on a monday night in vegas...all the clubs i usually go to seem to be closed on monday nights. poo on that! any ideas?
  20. i sign the paychecks tomorrow... we're closing the office thursday and friday... pd demo will be at my door thursday morning... go-for-broke-4-day-weekend...here i come! wait wait, wednesday is still in the way. dammit jt, don't get the group all riled up prematurely!
  21. is this like peewee's playhouse secret word? everytime someone says 'nice' we scream uncontrollably? that never got old for me.
  22. i know enough japanese and enough spanish to barely get by and not really do anything productive with it. so, i think i would like to actually finish what i started with those two before learning another. when i was in japan, i kept forming sentences with some japanese and like one english word and one spanish word. it was like everytime i went to say something, somebody pushed the language blender button. boy did i look intelligent. portuguese would be neat too though. when i was the advisor to the international students at my college, the brazillian kids kept trying to teach me stuff, but nothing ever stuck. doh!
  23. wouldn't you like to know!!! ha ha ha!! hey man, when you find a man that is your best friend, your lover, your rigger, your jumpmaster, your part-time packer...and will walk 40 miles with you in the fight against breast cancer...you wear whatever the hell you can to keep him around!!!
  24. dude..use your talent..you play guitar, right? i think....i hope. sorry, i have no fact storage space left in my brain, so i read posts and the info rarely sticks... anywho, should you happen to play, hit a busy street with cafes and stuff and play your heart out thursday night with your guitar case open(people will be out in droves with friday being a holiday)...take your collected change and party hard on the 4th with that! okay..just a thought...
  25. OH MY CRAZINESS! WOW! well, brains just bumped the total up to $250 in dz.com donations!
