Katie, I think it's definately worth buying a used rig. I know that when I use to rent gear from SDLI I had to make sure I got there early to get the one I wanted. I wouldn't be so quick as to add the cost of a pack job to your ticket. As a requirement for your "A" you do need to pack and jump your own packjob. When I first started out I thought that I would never want to pack my own stuff but after doing it for a while I realize there was no need to spend $7 dollars to have someone do it for me. I normally do anywhere from 5-8 jumps (forget about doing that many jumps on a busy day at SDLI when the packers are busy doing the tandems and video guys rigs) in a good day so thats $35-$56 I am spending on something I could do myself. OK that was soo cool. The C-130 took off hovered about 10 feet off the runway until it got to the end and just went vertical. Those guys rock. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity

lol! The Dream Machine bi-plane just took off, I believe they go down to the beach and practice (thats where I might go if I can't go skydiving after work). One of the angels just took off going almost vertical, those planes are amazing to watch. I am going to grab some Wendy's and see if any of them return. So I work about a half mile from Republic Airport where the Blue Angels are currently station awaiting for the airshow this weekend. Every time one takes off my building shakes... I am grabbing lunch and going to go sit at the airport and watch these guys take off. Mine were short when I got it but the canopy was collapsing when you brought the toggles past the middle of your torso. I had my rigger lengthen them a bit and now it flares awesome. Yea mine was built by Precision Aerodynamics. Does the 8% rule still apply to the USA ones? Once I lengthen my brake lines the canopy flared pretty well. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity

It sounds like you had some pretty stiff winds. Were they like that all day? Were the winds gusting? You can always choose whether or not to jump. When winds are high and gusty I will choose to stay on the ground. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity

I wouldn't count on it. I ordered an FF2 3 months ago. I finally got a tracking number today, but it doesn't work so I'm not holding my breath.
