  1. I know they were at SDLI last year. Duncan was the TM. She also played with herself in the Grand Caravan (on the ground) for a while. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  2. That is sweet. 4 weeks and counting on mine. Could you possibly post some pictures of the front, and also on an angle looking at the dbox (open and closed). _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity

  4. I just pick up a book called Voices from Chernobyl. Its basically the stories of the people who lived through it. It is very moving and somewhat frightening to read. The first story is of a widow of a fireman who was first on the scene. It tells how the wrinkles in the bed sheets would cut him and 14 days after the incident his skin/hair fell off and he was dead. Just crazy stuff. I did some searching and found the number 4 reactor on google earth: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=kiev&t=k&om=1&ll=51.38976,30.099358&spn=0.001476,0.00479 If you Zoom out and look to the northeast you can see the main town that was once host to 40,000 people. Zoom in and you can see just has deserted it really is. There are no cars, no people, no nothing, just over grown trees and bushes. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=kiev&t=k&om=1&ll=51.403115,30.061748&spn=0.005903,0.019162 _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  5. Do you snack a lot during the day? What I did when I felt that I wasn't eating right was to cut out all the little snacks I was grabbing though out the day. They really do add up. Now I am pretty much on 3 meals a day with 1 small snack at night. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  6. How long did they quote you? I thought they were quoting everyone around 8 weeks, so I don't understand why you are upset at 6 weeks? _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  7. You also have Sky's the Limit in PA which is pretty close. Long Island traffic isn't that bad on the weekends... When were you thinking about going? _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  8. I am going Monday and Tuesday...I hope they put up planes. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  9. I will take Yuengling over any other beer so far. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  10. My vision isn't horrible at all. I have trouble seeing far away (is that nearsited or farsited?). My alti and handles are in perfect view. I shouldn't have a problem if I land off either. Like I said my vision isn't really that bad. Great thoughts though, thanks for the concerns altichick. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  11. I am no expert but your RSL looks fine and your chest trap looks fine too. You just need to fold it back under the spandex band. Just ask your rigger when you drop it off to have the canopies put in, it's not hard. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  12. Thanks guys. I was trying to avoid getting Rx sunglasses because the normally cost 2-3 times more then normal ones. I will have to look around. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  13. lol, thanks Tonto, some very good points. I guess I will stick with the plain plastic ones. Although I am very excited not having to deal with big bulky goggles because of my glasses anymore. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  14. I know that there are a lot of threads that discuss sunglasses out there but I didn't really find the answer I was hoping to find so I am turning to all the experts. I am currently about to switch over to jumping with contacts. I am new to the contact world. I would like to know if anyone jumps with contacts and sunglasses. Which sunglasses do you use? Right now I am trying to concerntrate on learning how to sit-fly, so I need glasses that can hold up to the higher speeds of FF. Any suggestions. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  15. The first time I was ok'ed to exit the plane how I wanted I did a cannonball exit, always wanted to do it. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  16. Thanks, checking it out now. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  17. nvm found this on Icarus's website: So unlike the Xaos21-21, the VX46 was actually built for flying purposes. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  18. That explains a lot. Anyone know how th VX46 project came about too? _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  19. Last night for the fun of it I was checking through some of the older post about the Xaos21-21. The main thread I came upon was the thread about Chris Martin (RIP). What I wondered was who is the driving force behind these canopies. Is it the jumpers who want to go faster and explore all reaches of canopy flight or is it the manufactures who want to see how far they can push there canopies. Maybe a combination of both? Is there any future to these smaller canopies? I compare these smaller canopies to the cars at the salt flats. They are there to explore the limits of what we can achieve. Meanwhile I compare the canopies used in the PST where I believe there are w/l restrictions (could be wrong, please don't flame) to a nascar type event. Nascar's have the possibility to create as much horsepower as they want but are restricted for safety reasons. The reason I use this comparison is because the salt flat racers aren't as well known as Nascar but when someone goes big and breaks a major record everyone takes notice. Is that how it is with these small canopies, sit in the background until something big happens with them? _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  20. Well my decision right now is simple. What dropzone is more likely to put up more loads on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Last year I was afraid of going anywhere beacause I was new to the sport. I am still new to skydiving but have more confidence in things like landing in a tighter area etc... This year I hope to visit many of the surrounding DZ's. But for right now I am just looking to see who might be putting up the most loads for these two days. I wanted my 100th jump to be at the place I learned at (SDLI) but due to the weather and timing it doesn't look like it will happen that way. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  21. What time does X-keys normally put up the first load? _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  22. Thank Pancake and skymama (just PM'ed him). Alright so I think I now know where I will be going. I just hope the weather will cooperate. Its really tough to tell what it's going to do in April. Are winds normally a probably at x-keys. I don't mind a stiff wind as long as its steady and not very turbulent. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  23. Thanks guys. Question though, does any of these two dropzones have the facility to do water training for your B license. I am trying to find a place to do it so that I can get my license. Also is there any place to stay around the Ranch hotel wise? I am also interested in a little bit of FF coaching. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
  24. Alright so next week is spring break for my school. This is good news except that I still have to work (got to school and work full time). I would like to take 1-2 days off and go jumping. I already have Friday off due to it being good friday so my choices will be either take Monday off or Monday/Tuesday off. I am just trying to figure out which of these two dropzones will most likely be putting up planes during these days. I am trying to avoid sitting on the ground doing nothing. Any help would be appeciated. _________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
