1. This statement is a great reason why I classify this article as bullshit. You realize that this is double-talk right? In the whole of itself is says nothing, therefore go ahead and keep electing Democrats. That is the whole article. I got nothing from it and felt dumber after reading it. 2. Not going to go point for point, but let me summarize.... This article is partisan. It's trying to break down who is better for the economy and is written for dumb people. Both Democrats and Republicans have done good and bad things for the economy. Articles that try to generalize the parties without getting into specific issues like "How Dodd-Frank affected the economy" just continue on with the stereo types. And when your article includes such phrases as "luck factor" and "The remaining explanation, Blinder and Watson write unequivocally, is a mystery." it kind of shows you don't know what you are talking about. 3. This ^^ Reagan fucked us with NAFTA and Obama is fucking us now with the highest taxes on record and more regulations than necessary. An example of good government policy would be Clinton raising taxes during the .Com bubble and then after the market was saturated and the economy started to fall, Bush lowering them again. A good government follows business, not the other way around. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 4. Yes I did. The article is crap, the source article is crap, and they conveniently left out the democratically controlled 30's. What of it? Are you going to now tell me how dividing the country is a good thing and quote "Rules for Radicals" as your source? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
5. A lack of correlation doesn't make the observation horseshit. Inconvenient for one party, sure. Ya, it kind of does. Without correlation or facts to back up the article it places it squarely in the unsubstantiated opinion column. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
6. What's in that pipe you're smoking? Don Simple fact of the matter, the U.S. built up it's industrial complex during WW II while the rest of the world was bombed to shit. It set the stage for the next 30 years. Democrats just can't seem to wrap their minds around this. They make all kinds of excuses about how high taxes "fix" everything. Political parties actually had very little to do with the matter. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 7. http://m.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2011/12/14/remarks-president-and-first-lady-end-war-iraq And this... http://m.whitehouse.gov/blog/2011/10/21/president-obama-has-ended-war-iraq The President ended the war in Iraq. Left a stable government. Said the veterans will be taken care of. Oops. Here you go. A post from 2004. I thought now was a good time to pull it out. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3395032#3395032 "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 8. This has already been debunked as a load of Horse shit many times over. This article provides no correlation. All it says is "A democrat was in office, the economy grew." Especially since 1900, to see why our economy has grown or collapsed you have to look at what is going on in the world and how the other countries have been able to compete against us in the global arena. During the 50's 60's and 70's when we were the only real industrialized nations we could tax our businesses 90% and our economy would still grow. Now that we are competing against industrialized 3rd world countries and unwilling to make the changes we need to keep growing, the only real economic growth we have seen in the last 20 years involved bubbles. If you want to believe this article, go ahead. Just shows how out of touch you are with how the economy works. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 9. Kinda sucks to be the guy that just got hired by a corporation that is 29 years, 364 days old.... Think maybe that guy would deserve it . . . on account of he didn't research the company's birth date.
10. Well, I'm pretty sure the loophole here in Florida is closed. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
11. The point I was trying to make is nuclear power is safe. Other countries are using it just fine. What's not safe is using reactors that are 40-60 years old and taking the "spent" nuclear material and burying it next to the water table. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
12. No we didn't. Three Mile Island, Chernoble and Fukushima dug the grave and buried atomic power. And yet France gets 75% of it's energy from nuclear power and is building more reactors. What does it say about the US when France passed us up? http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/Country-Profiles/Countries-A-F/France/ Our Nuclear reactors are over 40 years old. Geez, I wonder why they might now be safe... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 14. I don't know about Texas, but here in Florida all sales at a Gun Show go through an FFL with a background check. What's this crap about "Gun Show Loopholes?" I need to get to one soon. I've finally talked the wife into getting here concealed carry permit.
15. Its time for the women of Iraq to break out the fucking knives... even the nutters of Al Queda have to sleep sometime... do unto others as they would do unto you Those sound like a chicken hawk's words... Try me. I guarantee you I am good at my word. Point being, the women that are in these countries can not help themselves. The men that actually care about their daughters send them away as soon as they are able and the rest are controlled or killed. Either way, because of their small numbers, the way they are kept segregated in society, not allowed to handle guns, and many other reasons, their ability to rise up is non existent. So it really comes down to 2 choices. Sit back and watch or be a chicken hawk. What do you think we should do? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 17. I've heard commentary that this is one of the reasons ISIS will eventually fall. Sunni's turned to ISIS while disenfranchised with the Maliki Shia government. But soon they will be even more disenfranchised with ISIS and possibly turn back. But only time will tell. Muslims all over have put up this various forms of strict Sharia law since Muhammad walked the earth. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 18. Why can't we just take these criminals and tie them to an altar and sacrifice them in a paganistic way to the gods of global warming? I'm sure the left would find the executions way more agreeable that way.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 19. Goddammit, for a day and half in the 19th Century I was an ant in Central Africa. You bastard! I recall being a bowl of petunias and a giant falling sperm whale simultaneously. But I don't remember if it turned out well or not.... Probably didn't turn out well. Things probably would have been more interesting if you were able to talk to the petunias... Douglas Adams helped shape my formative years... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 20. Good thing we have strong Presidential leadership No doubt you'd prefer someone more like Putin. Don I think he was thinking more along the lines or Reagan or Bush. But if you would prefer a Putin or Chairman Mao, hey, what ever floats your boat... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 21. Are you saying this isn't happening in America right now, that it's a figment of someone's imagination? Pretty much. To paraphrase the article "DOJ's doing something but it's secret, so here's a bunch of wild speculation". More Specifically, it's a program of record with whistle blowers. But we all know how the Obama Administration treats whistleblowers and the credibility Obama's press gives to anyone who blows the whistle on his administration.... 22. You are correct on this point. I remember Bank of America saying that it was no longer going to work with gun dealers and a few other stories where banks seem to take a political "liberal" leaning. It all makes sense now. Hopefully someone targets Eric Holder (with a lawsuit or criminal charges... before someone gets their panties in a wad....) So who investigates the DOJ? Congress is obviously incapable... 23. The Obama Administration seems to be having yet another problem. This one is courtesy of Eric Holder's DOJ: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/05/24/operation-choke-point/ I'm sure that there are some Marxists out there that think this is perfectly acceptable. 24. Very true. However, when possible, I try to waste time in ways that I find enjoyable. Like watching "Dinesh D'Souza - America" or "Michael Moore hates America" Life is to short to watch Michael Moore movies. Unfortunately I watched one to find this out... 25. One movie talks about how great America is and the good it has done the world, the other one talks about how much America sucks. Which ever movie you gravitate to kind of says something about your views. I watched "Fahrenheit 9/11" and the movie was so riddled with bull shit that I was left with a feeling in the pit of my stomache of empty despair because of the knowlege that I will never be able to get that time back.
