  1. You haven't been paying attention if you think there's only one. Rich Iott Carl Paladino Sharron Angle Christine "I am not a witch" O'Donnell Todd Akin Richard Mourdock If you want to start name dropping idiots on the right and the left, we can play that game all day. Still doesn't make it right to identify a group by the actions of a few. I think the technical terms for that are "stereotyping" and "bigotry." In truth what happened to the tea party is they kind of disbanded. The mainstream media did everything in there power to label them as "racist, extremists, terrorists, fringe far right religious zealots" and to an extent they succeeded. So a lot of people, realizing that splitting the Republican party in half would give the Democrats an unchallenged majority for the foreseeable future, and decided to get back in the fold and try to hold the republicans accountable to the basic idea of fiscal responsibility (the basic idea that started the tea party). The tea party that you see now are really a bunch of hold outs. They may not be the most well spoken bunch, but to continue to label them falsely because you can't understand their point of view is wrong. If you want to continue down the road of bigotry and hate of your fellow man and shut down free speech, hey, that's on you. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 2. http://www.mediaite.com/online/commencement-speaker-slams-students-immature-arrogant-protest/ Bravo to William Bowen for calling out a student body for their Saul Alinsky tactics. I find it refreshing also that he called out Robert Birgeneau for not showing up. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Teaching a group of college kids to bully the opposition into submission rather than having a civil conversation isn't good. I was hoping that the up and coming generation would have been more disgusted with what they see in politics today rather than put in on steroids. 3. that's not analogous at all - 1 - those positions were driven by threat from the establishment (religion at the time) 2 - GW is not treated like a faith based religions nowadays (snicker) 3 - scientists that fairly disagree today are not ostrasized or professionally damaged (snicker) like back then 4 - I doubt a scientist that doesn't follow the pack today at least won't be burned at the stake, (he might just get death threats and his car keyed up) 5 - Back then, people were fanatical about the flat earth, almost like dogma. We NEVER see alarmists getting hyper or over-reactive.... 6 - The churches collected a lot of money by making people follow the doctrine. Today, GW is not a money making industry at all. It's just concerned citizens that have no other political or social agenda..... it's not the same AT ALL +1!!!! "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 4. This is Kallend doing his usual thing taking someone on the fringe of the party he doesn't like and trying to say it's the norm... Or in this case, the supporter of someone he doesn't like and trying to make an association. I guess I should be thankful that he's not calling him a "racist tea bagger" I give this post an age of "12". Not an adult in the room yet, but almost the intellectual content of a teenager. 5. And that is the fatal flaw of Keynesian economics. It was written for the 20's. It only works on small scale local economies, not global. And while demand does drive an economy, it's equal demand, not a one way street. A good or service for a good or service. And yes, even though we are on the Fiat money system, a dollar still represents a piece of a good or service. That is what it is supposed to represent. People forget that. Right now, because so much of our manufacturing is done overseas, the people with jobs in the U.S. are trading with people with jobs in China. Our stimulus did wonders for the Chinese Economy, not so much for our own. We didn't increase production in U.S. plants, well, because we don't have any (Why I say it would have worked in the 20's). Until we start making real moves to bring some of these jobs back to the U.S., the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. That is the legacy Obama will leave with all of his regulations that keep making the choice easier to build factories overseas. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 6. "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself." - Henry Ford "You will find men who want to be carried on the shoulders of others, who think that the world owes them a living. They don't seem to see that we must all lift together and pull together." - Henry Ford "Most people spend more time and energy going around problems than in trying to solve them" - Henry Ford Together... not I got mine............... Fuck the rest of yall Don't give me any of that do goody good bullshit... I feel sorry for those who can only think of themselves with no thought what so ever to those around them.. What a sad and lonely world they live in. At the same time, a business that is out of business does not employ anyone. The assembly line allowed Ford to build enough autos in a short enough time to turn a profit without working his employees into the ground in during an 18 hour day. Without it, he would have had to treat his employees just like Rockefeller to get his company going. There is a thin line sometimes between sinner and saint. Now a days the same innovation that brought us the assembly line is replacing people all together. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 7. Actually, nothing raises minimum wage like a 2% unemployment rate. If people don't know the factors that make prices/pay rise and fall, I don't know what to say. Unfortunately, all low skill manufacturing/ factory jobs that typically sucked up everyone with just a highschool education or less are now gone. I like the plan of lowering/fixing the tax code and scrapping unneeded regulations that raise the cost of doing business in the U.S to get some of these jobs to come back. It would do a lot to fix the economy. I also blame NAFTA. I place it in the same pile as Keynesian Economics, a failed experiment. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 8. It really is an exercise to help one learn how to keep one's composure and continue at the task at hand while distracted... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53lS9nrT1a0 P.S. 12. Not sure I would call it a phobia, but I hate spiders. Specifically camel spiders. Half spider, half scorpion, all ugly. While sleeping in the desert over here, one bit me on the back of the neck and it got infected. I got a nice scar out of the deal. fucking hate them.... http://www.camelspiders.net/ "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 13. I've been toying with the idea of going here for a while now. Is it just me, or did the price spike recently? I could swear it used to be in the $350 range, now they're advertising it at $550. Am I imagining that? Also, I know where this is located, but why don't they give their location anywhere on the site, except on the calendar (which is for some reason full of scuba diving course listings)? Did they start to travel around with it? These guys travel. If you local DZ has enough people interested, they bring a truck full of gear to rig the aircraft and the jumper. When I saw them last it was $350 a jump, but that was from a mere 25,000 feet. Extra money for extra altitude maybe? I don't know, you might be able to to book them for your DZ's next boogie. 14. You forgot one. Helped you out a bit. You seem to keep forgetting that the world is not a jar with only one force acting upon it. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 15. Not a fact, not even close. Please provide proof other than a "consensus of like minded scientists looking for more money" No one has been able to make this connection. That is the reason I say the jury is still out. On the whole I find the report of the National Academy of Sciences to be more credible than your opinion. True, I would give more credibility to the National Academy of Science's opinion than to mine. But it doesn't change the fact that without accurate models to explain all the connections in the environment, man made global warming is opinion, not fact. Now instead of cherry picking post #72, why don't you respond to post #74? Or does talking facts get in your way? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 16. -Green house gasses do cause the earth to retain heat. Heat that adds to the water vapor content of the atmosphere that also blocks solar radiation from reaching the earth surface. This has shown to reverse the effects of global warming. The earth is not a jar with just one force acting upon it. -CO2 content of the atmosphere is .04% and since we have been taking measurements we have seen an increase of 2 parts per million a year. Is this enough to cause warming? -The global temps average have risen .19 degrees celsius in the past 30 years and have actually held steady for the last 18. The sea rise of 2.2 mm a year has slowed down or stopped depending on who's numbers you use. There are counter arguements to every argument. No one has been able to make a accurate model to explain the connections. Right now man made global warming is an assumption. You know what an assumption is, right? 18. Honesty I believe the CIA more than the Obama administration in this case. Why? Because the Obama admin has hid documents, changed documents and redacted documents. If it's the CIA's fault, why doesn't he just release everything, get it out in the open and be done with it? I know that if he did that, there would still be people out there that would still blame him, but at least when he labeled them as crazies, he would have a point. Right now though he is not being the open, honest and accountable administration that he promised. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 19. The CIA has called this statement a lie. They knew it was a pre-planned attack by Al-Qaeda affiliates within hours and briefed their channels as such. There is hours of testimony to congress by all kinds of CIA officials stating as much. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 25. I see you cherry picked my post. Can you point to a model that has accurately backcasted the global temps so we can see how much of this climate change was actually caused by man? That really is the key to figuring out climate change. Unless you can figure out the exact causes, the results could be similar to when we started aerial hunting wolves in Yellowstone. Come to find out, despite all scientific predictions, they were needed. Until then, you're destroying the U.S. economy on a hunch. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying.
