  1. +1 I do that. Works like charm. dudeist skydiver #42
  2. Sure about that? You have to think outside the box. ...rock group Disaster Area, claimed to be the loudest band in the universe, and in fact the loudest sound of any kind, anywhere. So loud is this band that the audience usually listens from the safe distance of thirty seven miles away in a well-built concrete bunker... dudeist skydiver #42

I use it 99% of the time to share skydiving photos. Mostly because when I upload the pics all of my "friends" can look and download without the need for contacting each other. Other than that, only thing that is useful is birthday reminder. dudeist skydiver #42
  4. Good luck! ...and try to watch some "OZ" episodes when you get to it. dudeist skydiver #42
  5. I did it like this. Got really, really wasted one night and tomorrow I got hangover from hell. Cigs tasted like mega-sh*t and made me vomit. That helped to get over the first day. The lollipops helped the next two months. I gained weight, about 12 pounds in the first month and a half, but not much after that. Been smoking for 10 years, 6 years since I quit. I also feel like a member of AggieDave`s group - smoker that doesn`t smoke, because I still have cravings from time to time. But it is not that difficult to manage now.
  6. I was ironic. Of course I said NO. But I sold xfire to buddy of mine and he asked him to buy it off. I told my buddy not to sell and I hope he listens to me. Otherwise... dudeist skydiver #42
  7. It`s virus or malware. I had that problem like that with my gmail account. It seemed that I got it when I clicked on an ordinary inconspicuous looking link in an e-mail that one of my work buddies sent me. Changed the password, updated anti-virus-malware software and all was back on track again. dudeist skydiver #42
  8. "no!"? Yup, that`s what I said. But I sold my xfire to another friend and the young guy is asking him for it. I told him not to do it and why not to do it. You don`t want to have DG(IT) on your hands. dudeist skydiver #42
  9. I have a friend, jumps at other DZ than mine. Young, very similar mindset to Sangi`s (at least dz.com Sangi). 200 jumps. He wants to buy my old Xfire 129 which he would be loading about 1.6... What can I say? dudeist skydiver #42
  10. I had a Xfire2 129 (loaded it 1.7-1.8) and switched to JFX 104, and I load it 2.0-2.2 depending on gear that I jump (weights...). I made about 300 jumps on Xfire and 100+ on JFX since I got it. Between those two I did dozen or so jumps on Neos 104 as I wanted to have at least some crossover period. I did not jump any other (fully) xbraced canopy. As for the impressions... Well, for me, it was a considerable step up. JFX is not "tame" by any means. It opens nice, but not nice as Xfire. It dives as a concrete block, and it is very sensitive on body position/harness input. Comparing it to Xfire it has a lot more flare and I can make it go further on rears. It got me from every long spot so far, and I do lots of tandem videos so there were plenty of that. Of course you have to fly it with all inputs that you have. Most of the time I just fly it with harness. From time to time when doing back to back loads, I jump Xfire. After JFX, Xfire feels really like no-hassle, "lands by itself" canopy. With JFX I`m on top of my game all the time, every time, until I land. In the first couple dozen jumps with JFX I had one tight situation (as I was doing my setup another HP guy cut me of from behind. I had to abort the dive and land in tight spot doing carving flat turn straight to heavy flare around some aircraft. I managed to pull it off, no problem, but if I had less canopy time who knows. Panic toggle whip will drop you from the sky in no time. So do what you want, as VB said, we don`t know you outside dz.com and we wont care (much). I guess you have your DZ buddies that have seen you fly and you can look advice from them. JFX is not tame. dudeist skydiver #42
  11. If "Jesus country" is the place in that pic, then the country is Bosnia. * the poster below billboard looks familiar Anyway, It`s just bad Photoshop. dudeist skydiver #42
  12. stabbing like that out of the corner will bite him eventually YOU try to beat that into his stubborn skull - mccordia, myself AND others have done our part; and we're sick and tired of it. we just hope he wont turn into someone.. I am just now responding because honestly that flying sucks and it pissed me off to watch. Keep stabbing it out and one day you will be in the corner too deep and not be able to pull that off and that is when you will shit yourself. Sangi, please listen to these guys. You`re stabbing out of it every time. Like I did before I chewed It`s only matter of time... dudeist skydiver #42
  13. We were thinking of USB drives for HD delivery, especially because you can print DZ info on it. But in the end we never got to it... dudeist skydiver #42
  14. I create 2 discs. - DVD (5) with BR structure and - Regular DVD with .mp4 file and still photos. DVD plays nice on PlayStation, BR drive and on comp, and customer can always copy .mp4 on USB stick or simlilar and play it directly on TV with USB jack. dudeist skydiver #42
  15. It won`t work for me that way. I convert events to media slugs, then save the template. When I start new project through PA (with the exact same footage) i get sequence like this: template: 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9, 7 After creating new project from PA with the same footage: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, empty, empty, empty What am I doing wrong? dudeist skydiver #42
  16. +1 on that. From the article "The new version is set in the world of international extreme sports..." They will probably go with motor(bikes), BMX, skateboads. And maaaybe some BASE... Skateboard, bike and moto markets are way bigger than skydiving. Earns more $$$. But with some good lobbying... dudeist skydiver #42
  17. Hey my friends! I got my hands on some small, but military grade, smoke canisters. Battery ignited. So we`ll try with this tomorrow. Anyhow, if we don`t come with solution for mounting them, I`ll go to the nearest supermarket and get whatever I can find first. Twardo`s 5lbs bag of flour or a can with some talk powder. You have been very helpful. I hope that someone will take at least one good photo to post dudeist skydiver #42
  18. no possibility to approach some military people ? Doing it as we speak. We`ll see... Problem with regular pyro-stores is that I`m not sure if the stuff that is sold to general population is good enough for freefall. OTOH if the sock filled with flour is good enough... dudeist skydiver #42
  19. I`m trying but it`s not easy where I live... ...and there is that standard problem with the heat and mounts... The plus is, that if I go cheap on the smoke, more money will be left for dudeist skydiver #42
  20. I guess all of the problems could be avoided with soft container (sock). Once you`re at 120mph the flour IS going out. But if I (over)duct-tape it to the leg would it become more rigid and act as your plastic bottle...? dudeist skydiver #42
  21. My 1000th is coming soon and I was thinking of jumping an easy 4 way star with some smoke trails. Searching here, I found that some of you had success with attaching flour filled sock with hole on one end instead of smoke canister. Does anyone have any pics or more detailed instruction? How to (safely) attach freakin thing to jumper? How much flour and what type of sock? Thanks. dudeist skydiver #42
  22. DSE, how do you create a template which has repeating footage? An example: clips are sequential (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9). But you want to start (intro) with the freefall part, then fade to the beginning and continue normally with the rest. Then do freefall portion twice (maybe one in half-speed). And a clip from the freefall under end credits. so the sequence would be: #7, #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #7(half speed), #8, #9, #7(half speed). Can it be done and I`m missing something? Or PA templates can automate only sequential clips? I guess you could duplicate and rename a clip, but that would negate card-detection auto loading straight from the cam. I`m not sure If I explained it well... dudeist skydiver #42
  23. Yup. No worries there! He just turned it on and forgot about it anyway dudeist skydiver #42
  24. ...this AFF instructor?... (* see attached) dudeist skydiver #42
  25. In my experience, Icarus canopies (at least models that I jumped: Safires and Crossfires) have longer steering lines than canopies from other manufacturers. Thus, must people that I know that came from, say PD background, think about Safires and Crossfires as sluggish. And that they lack bottom end flare. And the reality is that they just don`t flare long enough. When I replaced lower steering lines this spring, rigger put them a little short than the original and my Xfire behaved totally different than I was used to. It felt more snappier and more responsive, but only up to a certain point in toggle stroke length. I After couple of jumps we just put back more slack and it was business as usual. dudeist skydiver #42
