  1. Meh. Pretty trivial compared the the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago. Yup, Chicago is one tough town. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  2. I agree, the people that have experience with them all say good things. I'm not sure why anyone would be criticizing your decision. Maybe they are just in a bad mood. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  3. I can agree with that. Attack may be too strong a word. What I mean is that the people in this forum will probably disagree with both my post and the BSR. I won't take it as a personal attack, I understand. There have been other BSRs enacted lately about tandems. I would say that USPA is micro managing tandems using the blunt instrument of BSRs at the behest of the tandem manufacturers and possibly DZOs as well. The stakes are very high for these groups. 4. This is a wingsuit forum, and I expect my post to be attacked here. Bring it to the tandem forum and it will be different. Apparently the BoD of USPA also disagrees with you. But I'm sure that's because they are just killjoy fools. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  5. Based only upon the many taped repairs that I have had to re-repair over the years, I would never tape a canopy. IMO leave it alone ( keep an eye on it ) or do a proper patch. Tape merely introduces an adhesive into your canopy, and that is not good. Jerry Baumchen True, whatever size piece of tape you use is the size of the newly damaged area that will eventually need patching. But ripstop patches in my part of the world last several years. So the estimated life of the canopy becomes a factor for me. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  6. I'm sure the rights of wingsuiters were not considered, nor should they be. Is there some reason you need to do these flybys? Do they enhance the experience of the tandem passenger, or are they for the pleasure of the wingsuiter? Tandem skydiving is not a game. Your attitude needs a small adjustment if you think it is. Notifying the tandem of the increased risk? Are you kidding? Do you mean the TI, who should know better, or the paying customer who has no way of knowing better? The BSR is entirely appropriate, at least as it pertains to tandems. Because no amount of additional risk is appropriate to add to a tandem skydive. Edit to add: I don't think of this as a BSR about wingsuits, I think of it as a BSR about students and tandems. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 7. It's both sometimes I think. Due to their influence at their job getting them some monies. It's power. Power attracts both the media, and those who seek to buy influence. Other people in powerful positions make a lot of money. We perceive that as earned, as in the ungodly amounts of money bank CEOs and hedge fund managers make. But if someone in public service earns speaking fees, we perceive that as abuse. Top politicians are generally at the top due to their talent and ambition. Those qualities are usually well remunerated in our society. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  8. We should have a poll.....Is HRC a MILF? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  9. Apparently the officer who did that arrived shortly after the sucker punch and just saw the black dude on the ground decked out. So, seeing as he was black, of course he needs to be cuffed. You can't be too careful with those coloreds ya know. The poor officer just wants to make sure he gets home safely to his family at the end of his shift. 10. Well....that's why turtles have shells. Your words can not penetrate, they just bounce off! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  11. He should just stick to endorsing snake oil. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  12. Birds of a feather indeed. Whole massive flocks of them. Compared to your tiny murder of crows, hanging out on a dead end street, in a dead tree. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Yes, I find the Chris Hutchins angry in your face atheism, the kind of people who feel obligated to try to show how foolish belief is, to be just as irritating as those selling religion. Faith and God can not be proved, and it also can't be disproved. Believe anything you want. My God will judge you on your behavior, not your belief. 14. All that really matters is if Michelle and Sophie hit it off. If the wives get along there will be peace in the family. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  15. It was the Brits. Long before Canada became what it is today. Oh Canada wasn't written till 1880. Canada became a nation in 1867. Nothing before that event is really Canadian. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  16. That is awesome. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  17. That's because your mind is closed on the matter. It's got nothing to do with science for you, it's strictly political. Vast majority is a little open ended. But you would quibble with whether it's 90, or 91, or 92, or 99. Because that's all you deadenders have left are pathetic petty little arguments that are meaningless. Step it up, get in the game. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  18. So...let me get this straight. You believe that the vast majority of both scientists and world leaders are all "alarmist" in a conspiracy against the truth, which is that all the smart people are wrong, and the deadenders like Watt are the only correct people who can see through the fog to the truth. But that you, and they, are not political. You are the real scientists? You are well and truly delusional. As well as political. And you are fighting from not only a losing position, but a lost position. The game is over, that's why you and yours are deadenders. You're just too stubborn to accept that you have lost, and that your game is over. It's going to feel better when you stop banging your head against the wall. Really. Take a time out. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  19. It's nice to know that the company you work for does not operate with the same beliefs as you. Since they are making all those changes they must be run by alarmists. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  20. Talk about using weasel words. What does this mean? What kind of plants are you talking about? Being among the cleanest coal fired plants is nothing to brag about. Even if you have scrubbers the coal still has to come from somewhere. Are you storing the CO2 output somehow? I seem to recall you firmly opposing EPA rules to clean up coal plants as too expensive. Now you claim that yours are among the cleanest of the dirty. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  21. Why would we give that stuff up when it's much easier to just blame the evil coal companies and sacrifice the livelihoods of people like Marc instead of our hobbies? Problem solved. Why? Because politics, which is the art of the possible. If and when we get serious about reducing CO2 emissions, the low hanging fruit will be first. Easy and cheap is to replace coal plants with gas plants for a reduction, and renewables such as wind and solar. It won't be enough, but it's a start. It's an extremely large ship, and it's clear it won't be turned around in time to avoid damage. The goal now is to limit the damage. Marc works for a power company, not a coal company he will keep working. Coal miners won't keep their jobs, that industry is in trouble. And those people will lose high paying jobs. I have no answer for that pain, except to say that change has been occurring to others in the economy, there is nothing new about their story. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  22. But there is also the choice to not do any of those things. Believing there is a problem and preaching about it, then doing the same things that contribute to it is pretty much the definition of hypocrisy. Kinda like a heroin addict preaching about being clean from drugs as he shoots up. Kinda like going to an AA meeting drunk. Kinda like a protester of Oil usage protesting from a kayak made of petroleum products. It's simply hypocritical, but neither you nor the other hypocrites will get it and admit it. Maybe it's a 12 step program. I've never been in one, but I believe the first step is admitting you have a problem. That's where most of us are. We know there is a problem, but we are not willing to give up our plastic kayaks, our sportcars, or our turbine rides to altitude. Basically the whole argument we are having with Marc is over the fact that we have made the first step, and he has not. He is correct that for the most part, none of us have done squat about our concerns. Except maybe Billvon. So you are correct that there is hypocrisy here. You are incorrect at least in my case. I both see it and admit it. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  23. In Canada we settled abortion laws completely in 1988. Our SC threw out the existing law and it was never replaced. Our government does not get between doctors and patients. In 2005 marriage for same sex couples became recognized here. We don't have bakery fights as far as I know. We have now got the 25,000 Syrian refugees here, and we are working on more. We abolished the death penalty in the '76, the last execution was in '62. We welcomed Americans objecting to the Vietnam war long before America acknowledged it's great mistake. We could plainly see that the WMD excuse for invading Iraq was complete bullshit and refused to get involved. We have guns here, but we don't worship them. ect, ect..... In Canada we love our neighbors to the south. The way a family accepts it's slightly dysfunctional members. Sometimes we shake our heads in wonder at the madness, sometimes we look in admiration. You could always come back TK, I hear the weather is going to warm up a little soon! Oh, and did I mention single payer universal health care? Yup that too. God keep our land, glorious and free, Oh Canada we stand on guard for thee Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  24. You don't think the judge is trust worthy? Is Trump trustworthy? It seems to me that upheaval and chaos describes the Trump agenda. Other than bringing access to health care to more people I see little upheaval in BHO's presidential record. And he seems to have followed policies that have fixed the economic chaos in America. I'm not just taking shots here. I am serious about your paranoia. You are saying things that are outside the pale. On the one hand you state that the tribulation and second coming is near, but yet you worry your world is changing. What do you really want? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  25. Where did you find that? DZ on the shore of the Dead Sea? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
