  1. Sounds like your son needs to find a new hobby, fast. Wrecking 3 times in 4 months is ridiculous.
  2. (reneck) The goat is constipated for the next 2 weeks (/redneck)
  3. This thread isn't meant to be a "motorcycles are bad, nobody should ride one" thread, by the way. I ride a motorcycle all year long, including during Chicago winters when the roads are dry. I'm just posting this because I hate seeing people go out and buy a Hayabusa to impress their friends, then riding around in a t-shirt, shorts, and sandals on a bike that is already way too much for them.
  4. You're right, provided you're on a deserted road in the middle of nowhere with no possibility of encountering other traffic, ever. Exactly.
  5. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104581 Please read the info in the link above. I watch way too many people every year get themselves hurt or killed buying bikes that are way beyond their skill level, not getting any formal training, and to make matters worse, not buying the proper gear to go with those bikes. Riding a motorcycle, like skydiving, is not something to be taken lightly. It is dangerous, and requires proper training and proper gear.
  6. I can't fall asleep if I haven't had any through the course of a day
  7. Sucks for you. The actual price for the chicago show was $55.66

  9. I've been to skanky walmarts too so i know what they're like. Thats why i drive to the snobby town to shop. I went to one of those skanky walmarts with her... she even got sick from touching things in there
  10. I can't handle rednecks, so I stay away from there when possible.
  11. Thanks for clarifying. Yes, it is mostly pointless, but sometimes slightly inducing oversteer with a light lift can be useful if you overcook it into a corner and need to get the nose in before you track too far out. Either way, I wouldn't suggest that anyone who has to ask how to do it, try it in any environment other than a parking lot or somewhere else with lots of empty space.
  12. Getting into a habit of applying brakes in turns to get the rear end of a car to step out is a stupid idea. What do you think will happen when you try that in a mid engined car or something less forgiving with no traction control? A light lift is ok, but be ready to get back on the throttle and counter steer very quickly and precisely if things start to go wrong.
  13. Here's a link to the manufacturer's site. http://www.quechua.com/EN/Product_arborescence/Mountain/Hiking/Hiking_equipmen/CAMP_SITE_TENTS/product_5599863/index.html One more link... http://www.decathlontent.com/
  14. I would guess that a lot of them are also not wearing leathers / helmets / etc?
  15. It scares me to be in the air with someone who does less than 20 jumps a year, period. Add over-confidence into the equation, and put one of those people under a high performance canopy, and it's terrifying. I do more jumps than that in 2 weekends... as do most other people who are active skydivers. I'm still very new to this sport, but I do know that currency is important, regardless of your wing loading or what kind of canopy you fly.
  16. Really? I've seen plenty of people prove that theory wrong...
  17. I've worn it for dead-of-winter-fucking-cold jumps twice, made a nice difference. But I don't jump with my CD wallet or duffle bag That's actually a good idea... I'll have to try wearing mine next winter. All this winter/"spring" I've resorted to wearing about 80 layers of sweaters and pants
  18. just like skydiving in chicago in april. Yea, skydiving in the 65-80 degree weather we had in April was pretty rough
  19. As for the subject at hand... I started freeflying pretty early, and ended up joining a 4-way team this year. I feel like I'm becoming a more well rounded skydiver because of it. I spend a few days a month training with my team, and the rest freeflying on my own time. I do have more fun freeflying, but I have fun on RW jumps with my team as well. It's mostly just the "must be up at 7am to stretch, get on the first load, and practice points 800 times over" thing that I don't personally like, but I can deal with it if I'm learning from it. I agree that a lot of RW people are WAY too serious about themselves, to the point where they become people I'd never want to jump with, though.
  20. If you were freeflying, you'd have been able to read it in 25!
  21. Try not to absorb too much from this forum at your level... there's lots of bad info here, and it can be hard to determine what's good and what's bad when you're new. Your instructors are a far more reliable source of information.
  22. Cars, motorcycles, vintage synthesizers, photos, paintings, and used syringes.
  23. Save that filthy language for the packing mats
