    Thanks Abbie

Thanks Abbie... and thanks to Jimmy, Marta, and everyone else for making my vacation in Twin Falls awesome. Hope to see you all again soon
  3. On a motorcycle, you have many more opportunities for damage (road debris, mainly).
  4. Dear Sunshine, You'll never get me to go to a Wal Mart again.
  5. Well done, Bob. I was pleasantly surprised that Fox gave the charity some publicity and did the entire interview in a respectful and sympathetic way.
  6. Condolences to his family and friends.
  7. Condolences to Shannon's friends and family members... she seemed like a really cool person, and I can see that she will be missed by many.

Got a hold of Jimmy today... I'm all set up for the 9th-11th. Hope to see some of you there

    TF Roll Call

Thanks for the info... I'm going to try to call again tomorrow (the message said they'd be back then), but otherwise I'll just try back on Monday. Have fun this weekend everyone
  10. 10.7:1 last time I checked. I put on a couple pounds over the winter...

    TF Roll Call

Different weekend, but will anyone be there the weekend of June 10th-11th? I'm still waiting on a response from Apex (and they're apparently out of contact until Thursday, according to the message on their machine), but hoping to do my FJC that weekend. Hope to meet some of you.
  12. I took it to be a troll thread, but you're right. I was harsh, and that's because I get annoyed with the constant flow of "advice" on this forum coming from people who have no association with the discipline they're giving advice on, or who are fresh off student status. Your advice, as far as I know, was good, though... as was stated by someone else here already.
  13. Dear BASE master, I am preparing to take a FJC very soon, but I am about 32 jumps short of your 202 jump requirement. What should I do? Sincerely, Lowly BASE jumper wannabe
  14. . Exactly. Get some coaching. Most of the people here who are going to give you "advice", have fewer jumps than you, and aren't worth listening to. When you add up profile numbers in most of the threads with people giving advice, you typically end up with 500 jumps / 80,000,000 posts.
  15. Please check the link below for more info, and get in contact the original poster in that thread for more info or to express interest. We'd love to see more teams sign up. http://skydivechicago.com/forum/index.php?topic=1472.0
  16. Don't know of any off the top of my head, but this site might be worth checking out... http://www.dpreview.com
  17. There are solid state recording options out there. I'm not talking about the Samsung, so whoever was getting ready to attack on that one, can chill out. The archos is a bad idea because of the hard drive. PM me if you want and I can let you know some details about a really nice solid state recorder coming out, which I should have a "beta" version of within the next week (I don't want to tell anyone else it's worth ordering until I have experience with it).

Still being worked on, or dead?
  19. If you ever lowside your bike wearing shorts, please post pictures. I love seeing what happens to squids when they bail.
  20. This is what happens when you rush the stage at a Tool concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-xsr-t0vR8&search=maynard (Notice how he continues singing) Can't wait for Saturday... got front row center on the first balcony for the Chicago show
  21. Yea, those hurt. I was teaching a friend of mine to work the clutch on a bike using my CBR on the sidewalk in front of my house a while back. He did great, until he stopped it and started walking it down a slanted driveway to the street. He leaned it over like you would a bicycle, and it came crashing down on him when he hit "that point" in the lean where all the weight seems to hit at once. He was limping around for quite a while.
  22. Going fast in LA?? How is that even possible? I did notice that when I was driving "conservatively" at around 90mph between LA and Perris (I have a strange fear of being pulled over in other states), I was getting passed by pretty much every other car on the road as if I was stopped, though
  23. Check out the Alpinestars "Air-Flo" textile jackets... they're really nice.
  24. Have you checked out the ventilated stuff? It's not quite as protective as actual leather, but it's a hell of a lot better than normal clothes.
