  1. where could one be acquired? ive got a few for tree work rated somewhere around 55kN, but the gate/opening isnt large enough... the wires on the local a here are about 4-5inches in diameter....
  2. also dont forget that you may be needing a thousand feet of rope or so if you intend to travel all the way to the ground..... thats probably fairly heavy... and you might be better off tying in to the end of the rope, and installing your braking device on the tower itself, operated by someone else... definatley a sticky situation
  3. except nex time youre on a large A look at the thickness and angle of the cables... you won get any biner ive ever seen around the wire for one, and if it happens to be a higher cable the angle close to the tower is extremely steep, so good luck. but your theory is fairly sound, but it damn sure wont be "easy"... maybe a cable loop, and a bit of grease... then hook your sling into that... i think outrager posted a link a while back to some photos of the moscow crew doing some practice rescues on an antenna of thiers... maybe you can find it
  4. look at a set of the apex wlo v2.. cloth stub, plenty long, and pretty swanky engineering... i use them on asylum risers and are (am?) fairly pleased with them.,. then come to your own conclusions.
  5. pc was changed for this jump... i had jumped this same object a week ago , taking same delay with a 42, and everything worked out just fine, same crosswind, just LtoR that time... i made a concious effort to ensure correct pc/bridle attachment, but who knows... how "wrong" does it have to be to induce oscillations? interesting bits about the multi, and valid considerations as well...just one more extra step to configure.. i had anticipated a bit of an oh due to crosswind, but this was a bit much... thanks for inputs...
  6. scenario: 300ft freestander, 46 pc, vtecmultifox, 1 second delay, 8-10 mph crosswind from right to left, lz on front and to left... result: 180 offheading, two twists and chin pinned to my chest, action taken: reached above and behind me to get lines as im flying at object, thinking "wtf", pulled first riser i got a hold of (above the twists) just so happens it was right front, turned to R (obviously) went to right rear came out of twists passing corner of object,(6 feet) popped brakes, stand up landing.. so. do you see anytihng here that i didnt conditions or otherwise? packjob was s/d, same as every other s/d pj ive done.. my canopy tried to kill me... and all the "climb above twists and pull rear etc.. goes right out the window, when you cant even look up to save your ass...
  7. we should have a drink together.. i blew .222 .. and i think i owe you some money..

    Quitting?

i hear this alot, and have to disagree... i dont want to die , while jumping. i dont want to die in a car wreck. i dont want to die period. does this mean i should stop jumping, because of all the what ifs? what if i go in?> what if what if what if.. we all die eventually. it is the only true constant. once you truly come to terms with that, then who what why where become irrelevant.. all we have are our human connections. make them count
  12. then ask him in a pm, instead of jumping on the "fuckyou" bandwagon..
  13. gee,we're really racking them up now aren't we...
  14. who the fuck is throwing doubles from 230? i are thinking that is intense...
  15. dippity wet spot mud aare mud hawk whole
  16. woah.. ease up there brotha... i didnt say a thing about downsizing or swtching canopies or anything like that, just wondering what others thought ... it just seemed to me (i fly a sabreone150, that at my loading hooks 180 between 240 and 300) that a canopy with a longer arc, one would have more of a window to judge trajectory and plane out accordingly, thats all... thanks for all opinions...carryon
  17. the vvisions magnetic sign was stuck to a guardrail on the righthand side of the road from bridge twrds hinn, all busted up and looking pretty rough... id probably write that one off, unfortunatley...
  18. cold war relic as vid666 already posted... i did a bit of research and found an old bellsouth longlines map, those fuckers are EVERYWHERE.. and i mean everywhere.. using this map, a certain registry and google earth ive found 6 jumpable sites within 1.5 hours of my house as well as one so remote its a dayblazer.. more or less no matter where you live in the us you have a clean object very near you.. just have to know where to look... contact me, i just poste to blinc about these..
  19. much respect and closure. thank you. old school spirit...
  20. a bit of a contradiction there? its almost more dangerous to swoop a stiletto or sabre due to the shallow recovery arc, thus a smaller margin for error, a smaller window to start your turn and a lower starting altitude to begin with, as opposed to a canopy that stays in a dive longer, giving you a higherstarting altitude, and more control over when your wing planes out... or am i just totally wrong somewhere here.. thoughts?
  21. i thought you were asking for some good hugs... my bad happy pills it is then
