At least some churches believe that humans being "made in the image of God" cannot refer to physical appearance , since God has no physical form, and also that would mean that any human who looks different (say, born with only one arm or leg) would not be included. Instead, to be "made in the image of God" means that humans have a free will and an intellect. So the creatures from this planet could be the same thing, even if, due to the higher gravity, they look more like a giant blancmange. But I checked online on the real computer just 20 minutes ago. There is only the record of the SECOND attempt to reply (which I did from the computer). There is no evidence (based on the timestamp of the reply) that the first attempt ever occurred. I think I am going to uninstall the email app, and just access my email through the web browser. I don't have an internet connection at home except for my Droid. Today I got an email from a potential employer to schedule a phone interview for next week. I received & replied to it thru my mobile phone's email app. Over an hour later I got on a computer at the library & discovered that my reply was nowhere to be found, not in the Inbox or the Sent box. I quickly retyped my reply & sent it out again, then rechecked the app on my phone. The app still showed that I had replied earlier, and the Outbox was empty. WTF?! A war that was started for non-religious reasons doesn't become a religious war just because a political leader gives a speech that has some boilerplate religious slogan in it. I'm sure Hitler threw in a bullshit slogan like , "God is on our side," in a speech or two, but that doesn't transform WWII into a religious conflict. OK, fair enough. The point is that the last four centuries prove that when you take away religious motivations, you still have huge bloody wars and purges and whatnot. Yet some atheists would have you believe that without religion, there would be just peace and harmony. Yep, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot were sooo peaceful. I think if you wanna play that card, you better be prepared to look at the percentage of atheist rulers who started wars compared to religious ones. Are you really sure you want to play that card and up the ante? I'm ready to go all in on that one. Are you? very few wars have been caused by religion. All of the major wars of the last four centuries were started for purely non-religious reasons. A close examination of wars prior to that would still show mostly non-religious wars, and those wars which appeared on the surface to be about religion were actually about something else entirely. For example, many of the Crusades (excluding the first two) were an attempt to get the roving bands of knights out of Europe where they had been roaming around & tearing shit up during the Hundred Years War (which was yet another non-religious war). So almost none of the major wars of recent centuries had a religious basis, and in earlier centuries it was less than half.
