  1. Try the quarter cask, its the same but a little more so being matured in a cask a qurter of the normal size; can you see where the name comes from? This gives a bigger interaction between the wood and the spirit, yadda yadda. And Laphroaig is officially a medicine (it was allowed into the states legally during prohibition due to is medicinal qualities) Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  2. From the UK but i dare say they can be found elsewhere (and they do ship international);http://www.nippazwithattitude.com/index.html Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  3. Tom Slick Yay (cut to crowd cheering); awesome and I've spent years trying to convince people that I haven't made him up, Sport Billy, Chorlton and the Wheelies ('ullo little ol' lady). Secret Squirrel Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  4. You're not wrong. Myself I'd probably go for 7/6/10 (I like intelligent women) but my 7 only applies when women aren't involved; when women are involved my intelligence drops significantly. How come we're all posting our own intelligence in the upper 30% though? Considering our affinity for jumping from great heights? Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  5. Thats the clever bit (and I use the term loosely...), they don't go high enough and they have the famous AGG (Artificial Gravity Generator; how come NASA haven't got one of them, huh? huh?) They did have a problem letting the contestants look at the projected image of the earth when they got into "space"; they had a moth loose in the studio and were concerned about projecting a 6ft shadow of it across Europe Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  6. http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/S/spacecadets/about/index.html Can't believe that this hasn't been posted yet. It's the latest idea to reward the lowest common denominator on tv. The idea being that if you are so gullible that you fail to see through the gag you walk away with the money. In short Channel 4 have set up a false space mission and trained up some volunteers to go on it (they had volunteered for a reality tv show but without knowing what it would be). Oh, and rewritten several laws of physics to fit. Funniest moments so far; the moving poem read out in Russian when they graduated the 3 week course; all about courage in the face of adversity. But translated quite well as a recipe for toad in the hole....And the mission motto. And the format has been sold Stateside as well. Guess there must be some gullible folks over there as well? 7. got an ak-47 for his best friend business the american way. Now before this has its arse dragged over to SC this is not a socio-political commentary from the righthand side of the pond, I just like the line in the song Hijack over, back to u+your regularly scheduled programming; Star Wars also owes a big debt to Akira Kurosawa, in particular Hidden Fortress (but so do a lot of my favourite films) Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  8. If you like Hendricks look out for Blackwoods Shetland gin, small batch made with whatever local botanicals are kicking around the islands that season (sea pink, mint, etc). Real good drunk tall garnished with fresh mint. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  9. If its a repost, tough. But it won't fit on my Weber... http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/getrecipe.zsp?id=67495 Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  10. that trick has been done before Am I the only one that now pictures him looking through a splintered door (a la Jack Nicholson)? Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  11. Lager tends to be fizzier and lighter. Ales vary from the lighter side of flat to richer, heavier, more bitter types of heavy. I personally prefer Ales, bitters, dark beers in general, finding lager too light, although it does go down well in summer. I guess a good analogy for the difference could be wine, with lagers being the whites and ales running the full gammut of reds from easy drinking syrah to heavy, rich chateau neufs and even port. As for bottles vs cans, I think a lot of it is do to with fashion, although a lot of the premium ales can be found as bottle conditioned. Don't know if you will find it over there but I would recommend Innes And Gunne oak aged ale (made in Scotland and aged in oak barrels, much the same as scotch; theres a likeness in the taste due to this). 12. Some kind of pie filling. Dave; I kinda see the resemblance from your postings, have you ever got a cat down from a tree with small arms fire? Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  13. And no thanks to the Cook Shop, bstrds took my order almost a month ago for my dads present and only thought to tell me at the end of last week that it was not in stock and the maker had stopped production several months ago, so now I have no idea what to get him and have to traipse through town with every other bugger. I hate crowds. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  14. Yeah, its a Gore membrane, more as a wind barrier than a water barrier (different composition of the fabric). Not real waterproof but makes a hell of a difference to the warmth of a fleece when out in the wind. As an alternate to Goretex, have a look at eVent fabric (sorry don't know who's using it over that side of the pond, Craghoppers use it in the UK, Lowe used to use it until they were told by Gore to stop). Its as waterproof but even more breathable. Softshells rock, but only if you're active; they are less waterproof, but more breathable by several orders of magnitude, the theory being that if you're pumping sweat hard the heat/vapour going out negates the water trying to get in (in a hard shell that vapour would be too much for the breathability of Gore, triplepoint, etc so you'ld end up soaked in sweat). 15. Wolf Blass; his yellow label Cab'Sauv is usually very drinkable, as are most of his others. I find it nice to have a couple of glasses first thing in the morning (before I start on the scotch)... . . . . I work nights Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  16. As a smoker I support the idea; never had any problem over in Boston last year at a friends wedding, but then again, I find that if I am out with non-smokers I smoke a lot less anyway. Must be some sort of psychological thing, if I'm around people smoking I tend to smoke more. Other than that I only tend to smoke at work (where a lot of the people I work with smoke, and it gets me out of the office.....) and when I've got a beer (still find it too wet without one) Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  17. Yeah worst music award ceremony ever. Specially that year that Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood presented it Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  18. A sad day for all forms of music and radio in general, known and loved for his eclectic tastes in music, anyone who can champion up and coming punk bands (SLF, Undertones) and continue to play them, interspersed with original 20s vinyl....as well as all manner of electronica, all on the same show deserves respect. Never bothered by being pigeonholed into any genre he also had a cracking show on radio 4 on a saturday morning, Home Truths, little funny stories and phone ins about family life. Radio wont be quite the same without him. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  19. Masters of stone is what your looking for, in particular volume V. He featured in most of them in some way or another but volume V had a tribute to him following his death including setting up some of his biggest jumps, his earlier jumps and an outrageous solo speed ascent in Yosemite (watch him dyno for a hold and miss it first time.....). By the way theres also some base included up on Baffin Island, if memory serves me right. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  20. If you have phones with speed dials programmed, rearrange them. Remap the keyboards on the PCs (sort of set up for autospell so that when they type on one word it autocorrects it to something else). I've seen both done at various times, and they have both been entertaining (probably cos it wasnt done to me) Brings to mind the Speak your Weight machine incident (happened in Australia I believe) where it was leaving messages such as "one at a time", "you fat f@%£er".Gotta have been someone on his last day at work leaving a goodbye gift... Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  21. Drive. Nice empty roads in the middle of nowhere (so as not to endanger anyone else; I try to be thoughtful) and enough speed so as I have to concentrate fully on the car, leaves me no room for sad/bad thoughts about anything else. Until I have to buy more fuel and I remember how much it costs here in the UK. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  22. 1, Book into a health farm for a couple of weeks to detox and get a little bit healthier. In order to; 2, (Father Jack voice) DRINK (Vintage House in London have a nice 1926 Macallan at 26000GBP per bottle.......should go well with a splash of coke) 3, Buy a selection of the biggest baddest cars going and fill the works car park during the night (reserved spaces and all). 4, Pay off the house and the credit card. 5, Spread a bit of the luck around. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  23. Kellogs Just Right, gotta love those fruity bits, and the cereal reminds me of old school Special K (the one that seemed to be made of half rice kripsies). Good any time of the day and I get to kid myself that its a healthy option. Either that or a good curry for breakfast, depending on what I've started to cook for later Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  24. Good advice alround, works as well with emails, and any other form of written comms; sometimes it feels good just to write it down and blow it out of your system, leave it for a while then delete it and start again in a less combative frame of mind. I've avoided getting fired so many times by doing this with emails to my boss.....Just a shame you dont get an chance to edit spoken conversations, but thats another story Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  25. I dont suffer from insanity.... I rather enjoy it Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
