  2. Assisted a friend back in the late 90's to build a beginner board. Building the beginner board was not difficult. Finding the darn board after how many board cut-aways.......First problem was to get upright before pull. The next was, once you spin, well, you spin. (on vertical axis) LOL, don't forget the "stabilising webbed gloves".

  6. Have you tried crew with high performance canopies? Think there would be a serious pressure difference between low aspect 7 cell types, and high speed smaller ones.   8. Iran and ran and ran. Volume per cell or total volume.... Remember you have some tapered/eliptical canopies. Get dimensions from manufacturer, then it should be fairly simple, or get a blown up old canopy. What would be interesting though, is air pressure. That wing gets rock solid in the air....   10. diverdriver, I had simliar youngster pilot go into cloud, nose down, and he froze once we came out diving straight down. Another jumper actually, from the ceiling, pulled the yolk back. If we had seatbelts on, I doubt anybody would have survived the flight. Negative G on a seatblet......Pilot error though, but has relevance to wearing seatbelts, or in this case not. To me, it is up to the pilot to make the call, he/she is in charge or the plane, and also in charge of CG. I would personally prefer a more forward CG then aft, purely cause I like speed, and speed equals more lift. I disagree with some statements, but keep them coming Nette.
  11. Give a newb a new experience. Do a funjump, with a different exit. Guarilla, or carthweel or something. They all want to do those odd jumps, and probably will, but without thinking about the risk, or with another newb. You are definitely getting beer after that. Win win.   12. ABCD mainly from what I have seen, novice to expert. There is a difference between a License, and a Rating. You cannot loose your license, but you can loose your rating You can be grounded though. LOL - even for life.   13. Now, dust devils.... How do you spot those, when there is only clean air inside them Also, just above the receiving side of a hangar, where the air is pushed upwards.....Can make for nice lift, and then that sudden forward surge/drop.
  14. I can't throw mine away......Sentiment Specially not my very 1st rig, thats end of life now. Not even a single jump on the reserve, knots are still "crunchy".   15. Another small tip, specially when in farm like country. Avoid anything thats straight, thats MAN made, probably a nice looking road, but with "invisible" wires etc. If it's an 8way or so off, land close to your team. You never know when you gonna twist that ancle up, or get stuck hanging in a tree. My carry on articles: mobile phone, knife, cash, pullup --> Call someone, fight for your life, pay for a lift home, field packing carries a lot easier through thorny terrain. Like your articles.

  17. So, please let me know yours... When I got divorced, it was a thing of "Cutaway" before it's too late...and yes, there is a reserve. Decision making/risk calculation in an instant. Wonder how many people can successfully do that, specially when driving bike/car. You have one landing, get your approach right. There ain't no second chance. Use that one every day, a good approach gets results quicker. Plan your dive, plan your day. Dive your plan, live your plan. Jump, pack. Don't wait till later, you will just be less willing to do so, same with tedious tasks, just do it already. Gear checks. I stop and check if I have everything required before getting into my vehicle. Safety first. Darn, my son even tells me that nowadays. There is never not enough money to jump. I realized that if I want something, just get it. Somehow you will make a plan to get the cash, even if it is baked beans on toast for a month. Dress for success. That jumpsuit does give you an edge. Same thing when going to work. You are much more respected/listened to when well dressed. Your friends will die, or even you. Come to terms with it. It WILL happen, not just in the sport. Pay first, then jump. better saving for something than paying it off. Lastly....Stay calm, take a deep breath(before jumping), focus on what is at hand.   20. I have seen them work, for both student and pro. Also lost a friend due to unconsciousness in mid air (Thousands of jumps, and all his life in the sport) AAD would have saved him.   23. I get you. But when you do your yearly USPA membership or any country for that matter, you could do a survey which will, in the bigger picture offcourse, give you reasonable information.   25. You are talking about a rig/reserve, not a main. You can sometimes get a full package deal, much cheaper.
