    Mental Preparation

For someone who has never BASE jumped you seem to know very little about it.
  2. That is why I post so rarely, I have a hard time finding this forum. Then again, not so hard when you follow the smell of something big and green...
  3. Aah yes, the good old days when we all thought Remi was Karen and the whole wife thing was just a cover.
  4. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BASE-JUMPING-CONTAINER-VELCRO-CLOSEING_W0QQitemZ7222463885QQcategoryZ91561QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem '(NO REFRENCES TAKEN- BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK)' Dude, you need to start thinking more and apply a bit of common sense. Read this article by Ken Miller. Think about what you are selling and how, think of who could be buying that rig and why. Will
  5. I'm not saying remove the post, just the links. In the past the UK board ground to a halt due to sheer volume of click-through traffic from dz.com. It is really not that hard to find, a couple of seconds on Google or a PM does the trick.
  6. Sean, in the past when people have posted links here to the UK board the volume of traffic has affected the UK board. This happened twice already this year. It really is not that hard to find, and those who can't find it can always PM a UK jumper for the address. Will
  7. Why 'should' someone do a newbie school? Make your BASE connections, find a mentor before you start. When I got back from my FJC it was Craig that hooked me up in the UK. Through him I started jumping with Dan and Neil (he is on a long holiday with Ray's mates), then Ian, Gus, Sean and before I knew it my phone's address book was full of BASE contacts. But the fact is if you haven't been in skydiving long enough or haven't made the effort to get to know at least one local BASE jumper in person then you are going to face an uphill struggle. Doing a skydive with a newbie you've only just met is not a big deal, taking a newbie BASE jumping who you have never met before in person is a big deal. This is not an elite group, but dues have been paid (some more than others). If perceived elitism is all it takes to put some people off BASE jumping then good - I'd rather their ego takes a knock than their body. Will
  8. Aah, then you're going to love the new new BM suit called the Phiagra. Apparently it lets you fock for hours.
  9. This is interesting, the suit takes its name "Gibraltar" from the crossing of the strait last year. But look at what those guys are flying now : http://www.proyecto-alas.com/es/galleries_det.php?id=164

    Switzerland

Flying in from the states Zurich would probably be best. If you stay at the Horner meeting other jumpers is easy. Cost mostly depends on how fucked up you get at the club behind the Horner. Try get some slider up/sub terminal tracking jumps in before you go. Also, check with toni before you go, he can give you the score regarding access, any local issues etc. Definitely take out insurance and also sign up with air glacier. I'd really recommend jumping as hard as possible before you go, a bit more experience and currency will really give you a lot more from the trip.
  11. He took the slider off but his steering lines were still routed through the keeper rings, I would've expected more attention to detail from Jeb Corliss...
  12. Hoping for some more good news and wishing him all the best from this side of the pond.
  13. To hide the botched peroxide job that left him looking like gay eurotrash.
  14. Hi Tom B It was an honest question, I was curious and was not trying to discredit him. My fault was not to ask it via PM. Anyway, Sam and I have no problem with giving each other shit in real life.
  15. Wow, you've really been researching this.
  16. Please think twice about what links you post over here. A lot of sites (which work just fine for their smaller user groups) can't cope with the sheer amount of re-directed traffic. Thank you.
  17. Out of curiosity, which of the 4 did you have?
  18. How many of these did you do before you started BASE jumping?

    Running exits

Yeah, but you've never seen Gus run - he looks like an epileptic baby giraffe! (but he jumps harder than most, 3 jumps on a school night last week and he only has 1 rig) Personally I favour the Wile E Coyote method, just keep running until you don't feel the cliff under you anymore. Keeps the spectators even more entertained than kick-starting the motorbike in freefall. People who do that launch thing often look like they're trying to jump off a springboard, they lose most of their forward speed when they plant both feet.
  20. Nice one Felix! Congratulations to Miles and his wife Nikki. Good to see BASE well received in TF.
  21. It took him a week to get there and he had his phone turned off the entire time? As if the Agnos thing wasn't enough publicity for the local jumpers...
  22. Dude, you better think twice. Check out the attachment - he is a bad ass who will pop something in your ass.
  23. Must be another fookin' Johnny Foreigner. Time we towed this island further away from the mainland, closed all the ports and battened down the hatches. If it gets any worse we will become Canada... reddevil1 : in your interests you list ")#Spending most my time in Hospital". If you are getting hurt that often in sports more forgiving than BASE then maybe you should reconsider. If your hospital stays were as a result of something else then please accept my apologies. (but reconsider anyway because likelihood is BASE puts you back in there sooner or later).
  24. Sam is right, that chick definitely didn't sound inbred.
