My longest flight: Sao Paulo (Brazil) – New York 12 h New York Airport 3 h New York – Tokio 14 h Toko Airport 3 h Tokio – Shanhai 2 h Shanhai Airport 3 h Shanhai – Hong Kong 2 h The las part (Shanghai – Hong Kong) was a Bonus because my visa was not correct. So I had to fly to Hong Kong, get a new visa and fly back to Shanghai the next day… Total travel Time: 39 hours!!! And the bad thing, this trip was done for a job interview. That's not fair. How do you know who he is? Because you have read the bounce bingo thread?? It's only the Internet! How do you know that he is jumping beyound his skills? Everyone can fuck up a jump. In the video you can see that he droped a shoulder which has caused the ofheading. That was bad but it can happen. He did a good job saving his ass which in the end is all that counts. I wear a seat belt. When I was very young, I thought that it is uncool to not wear one (don’t ask me why…) and I got in a car crash. My girlfriend then was also not wearing her seat belt and hit the front window pretty hard with her head and also had to get stitches on her knee. That was the last time I did not wear it. The guy you see on the picture (Vivis) iniciates the last turn with toggles, it's to hard to do it with front risers. He starts the landing with his rears and transitions to toggles to finish the landing. He stands the landings up. He does this with passangers between 55 to 70 kg. I also met Tom M during my FJC with Tom A in TF. On the first day when Tom A taught us to pack our Rig with tons of tools, he pointed over to a guy who was packing 4 Rigs at the same time and told us that this guy probably has more BASE jumps then anyone we have ever met. Usually when we did our first jump at 9:00 o’clock, Tom already walked out of the canyon the 4th time and always found some time to give us some advice and tips. He is also the inventor of packing with bungee cords which allows packing a rig in winds and also drinking a beer at the same time… Tom, I only knew you little but you where one of the most inspiring BASE Jumpers I have met. Ahh, I can’t listen to this whining. If you want footage of yourself so bad (I not addressing this only to you, I’m only responding to the last post…) ask your mama to video you or wear a helm camera. I did not make it to bridge day and that is why I bought the DVD. I want a DVD that shows me what I have missed. The guys from Triax have some very good reference. I’m glad the video was done by someone who knows how to take pictures and that’s another reason why I bought the video. Enjoy the DVD and tell your friends that you have also been there. First I was thinking in nominating Johnny Utah in the category “Best official sportive achievement” because he holds the BASE world champion title from around 1987 to 2004, but unfortunately these awards are only for the present year and Chad has finally made it and got the title for 2005. But I agree, Johnny is nominated for Best quote. I also want to add 3 new categories; - best low pull (also here you must survive the jump but it’s allowed to get hurt) - best wingsuit pilot - biggest balls For the best low pull I nominate the main man DX (forgive me my friend), see the enclosed picture. For best wingsuit pilots I nominate Loic and Yuri. For best contribution to the sport I nominate Tom A for giving free 7 days FJC, for doing all the internet work and for writing articles (but to be fair, he can afford to do this because he has a lot of free time) I also nominate Mr Nick D, also for doing a lot of writing and informing. For the category biggest balls I nominate Russel. Normally when he is doing a jump, it seems that he is the only one that is not shitting his pants. He can be glad that you don’t have to pay beer for first things in BASE, he has done a lot of test jumping... Contact neneskydive from this forum. He is a Brazilian base jumper. But I think there are not too many possibilities near Ilheus to BASE jump.
