  1. ___________________________________________ Yes, I do so, but only in the terminal phase of the snivel. But in this case I did not feel the end of the snivel phase, it felt like that the canopy started to spin already in the snivel phase and when it started to inflate, I already had line twists and was under a spiraling canopy. 2. Hola Chester, Wiä gahts? To verify: The riser covers are not Velcro; I would not FF with Velcro riser covers. But the toggles are connected to the riser with Velcro and the Velcro is used up. That's why the attachment of the toggles is not good. But I would say to connect the toggles to the riser with Velcro is still state of the art (if the Velcro is ok...). My new rig is a Vector 308 (Micron) with a PD126R and I will use it for some more time with my sabre 2 150. Chelas!!! Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  3. Yes, the rig is mine. I bought it used but I have ordered a new rig which has trulok toggles. I will get it end of November. I underestimated the danger of the old Velcro... But never to old to learn... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  4. I had a reserve ride this weekend because one brake was released. The canopy started spinning already during the snivel phase and I ended up with various line twists (and continuing twisting) and a spinning canopy. The thing is that I’m sure that I have stowed both brakes (but I guess that is what everyone would say…). The toggles are connected to the riser with a very old and used Velcro. I think that the brake has unstowed itself during the opening process, probably by leaving the container (Vector 3). I would like to know if anyone had a similar experience. Can it be that a brake gets released by itself? Or do I have to live with the fact that I was foolish enough to stowe only one brake?? Edited for spelling Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  5. Thanks, but I'm not going to downsize in the near future. I bought a new rig, V308, and I'm going to pack my Sabre 2 150 for another 100 jumps or so. I will then put in a Stiletto 135. I don't know yet for how many jumps I will use this canopy but I think at least 300 to 400 jumps. I just wanted to know if I have to buy another rig (bigger one) if I want to downsize to a crossfire 119, which is somehow paradox because both canopies are 9 cells and the crossfire 119 has a much smaller surface. 6. Does anybody know if a Crossfire 2 119 fits into a Micron V308 with a PD126R? The V308 is for a Stiletto 135, which has a packing volume of 315 cu.in. The packing volume of the Crossfire 2 is 342 cu.in. (According the specs). This is 8% more than the packing volume of the 135 Stiletto! Can someone explain me this? I don't get this because both canopies are 9 Cell... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  7. Come to Mexico (Cuautla). We don't have a swoop pound but we will get a Otter from Skydive Chicago this weekend until next year. Jump Tickets around USD 25.-- The weather is always nice. The DZ is on 4600 feet (1400m) above sea which will give you a few meters on your swoops... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  8. ___________________________________________________ The fai needs to stop trying to hold these events in quirky little countries(no doubt it officals were motivated by signicant under table deals). ___________________________________________________ Lesson in Geography I agree with you that some things went wrong in this case. But at least they worked hard to save the event and this with success. I don’t know if you are very familiar with geography but for your information: Brazil is that big country in South America. Population is around 175 Million (England 65). Area: 8’547’404 km2 (England 244’101 km2) This only to your comment of quirky little countries. Brazil has a very high standard in Skydiving, eventually you have heard of the Test Dummies, Fly Factory or Luis Cani, to name only three. Boituva is a very well organized dropzone with 2 Caravans and Campinas (Azul do Vento) is only around the corner with a Skyvan. I’m sure this is going to be a great event! 9. I was in Perris this year and got some tunnel coaching from Jon Alaska and Mike Swanson. I don't know about belly flying but if you are looking for freefly coaching, Perris is the place for you. Mike and Jon not only know how to fly, they also know how to teach it! Yes, they shut down the tunnel during the day but this did not matter for me. I did the tunnel in the early morning and in the late evening. This way I was able to jump during the day. And yes, the night live in Perris is very limited, but to be honest, after two tunnel secions and some jumps during the day I did not feel the urge to party all night... 10. I have very few jumps, thats why this post is more of a question and not an answer. I started to land with higher velocity just some 40 jumps ago. My landings are still far from what you can call a swoop. First I started by pulling both front risers after my landing direction was already set. The last 10 jumps or so I'm doing large 180 front riser carves. I try to complete them with an remaining altitude of around 80 to 100 feet. This way I have a lot of time to eventually use my "out". The last 80 feet I pull also my other front riser until I'm about 30 to 50 feet above ground. Then I completely let go the front risers to work the rest only with toggles. I don't know if this is the best way but in my opinion, it's a save way to learn to increase landing velocity because I can slowly change the carving angle of the front riser turn, change the starting altitude of the front riser turn and also change the terminal altitude in which I let go the two front risers. I'm very interested to hear some comments regarding this way to learn to swoop! Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  11. Thanks, I was searching under pull out vs throw out and did not find anything.... Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  12. I'm about to buy a new rig (probably Vector 3). I would like to hear some opinions on what you guys think is better for freeflying: throw-out or pull-out. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  13. I had the same problem with my PC109 and tried to disconnect the hand strap without cutting it. Unfortunately I was not able to do so and finally had to cut it... Maybe there would have been a better way to do it, does anybody know more? Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  14. I sent an email to Rawa 3 weeks ago and he (Radir) confirmed me that he will send the helmet for the PC109 to fit in. But I didn't want to be the first one to order so I bought a new L-Bracket from Bonehead and a HC Skinn (neopreen cover) from WayCool. Will do the job as well... 15. royal lens will have their lens with diameter 25mm ready in 1 or 2 weeks, regarding a email they have sent me. www.royal-lens.com Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  16. I can confirm that it has a manual focus. We also filmed the same scene with a PC105 and a PC109 this weekend and compared the quality on a big TV and could not find any difference. Michi (#1068) hsbc/gba/sba www.swissbaseassociation.ch www.michibase.ch
  17. Sony has a Fish Eye lens in its program: The VCL-SW04 (0.45) The lens is for diameter 37mm, but comes with 2 adapter rings, 25 - 37 and 30 - 37. The price is 119.99 USD Unfortunately you can buy them only in the States and as I'm from Mexico, so they will not ship it to me...
