We had the same thing happen at my house to. the raccoon had its paw just hanging on by a tendon and it had a chunk missing from its neck. I called the local wildlife people and told them the story and they came by with a net and sat on the back porch waiting for it to show up. It did and they put a net around it and gave it a shot to calm it down. To make a long story short it is alive and living in a wildlife rehab place for the rest of its life. Good Luck!
