  1. Hehe. The harness/container is already in production. It's black with two little royal blue wedges in the center. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  2. You can always visit the Smith Lake Ski Rixen & get some wakeboarding in Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  3. Well folks, the people have spoken and #1 is the winner! Woohoo! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  4. The topskins are white because black and white are the most durable colors. I don't want a black topskin b/c that makes the canopy hard as hell to see from above. I'm trying for something colorful for the ribs & bottom skin because they don't get as much sun or wear from packing. I really like them all. That's why I'm having a hard time deciding. I was thinking of omitting #1 because we already have so many blue-ish tandem canopies. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  5. Hey folks, In an attempt to breathe a little life back into the CSS thread, I'm going to start a quick poll. I've attached a few designs for my new tandem canopy & I need some help picking a favourite. Get your votes in quick! Also, Kelly sent out an email about having a little birthday/ trampday gettogether this friday. If you didn't get the message, let me know and I'll foreward it to you. Seeya, Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  6. Don't forget, there is also a tunnel right outside of Asheville in Waynesville. Go to bodyflight.net and click on AAC. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  7. It's also important to note that Radar Detectors are illegal in VA & getting caught with one carries a pretty steep fine. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  8. Hello all! It was a dismal weekend for fun jumpers at the DZ. I don't think I saw more than three fun jumpers on a single load in the King Air. I guess you're all saving your energy for the 4th of July Boogie! The Boogie starts wednesday with the King Air & we'll have the Otter for the weekend. Remember, it only takes 8 jumpers to get the King Air up. Traditionally the 4th of July has been our biggest boogie & I know that a lot of the Raefordites that I talked to two weekends ago will be here to jump with us. If anybody's not going to the Bulls game, there will be two demo jumps into the Wake Forrest Fireworks show on Tuesday the 3rd. Exit times are approx. 7:30 and 8:30 at the Wake Forrest High School football field right off of US1. Seeya! Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  9. Hey man. I'd really like to make this year's Bulls game. I haven't misse d one since I starrted jumping. I think we have the Wake Forrest fireworks show demo on tuesday the third though. I'll find out more this weekend. BTW, Friday is booked solid with tandems. Come on out! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  10. I can't say enough great things about this boogie! It was the first weekend that I've had off all year and I had a BLAST! Thanks to the whole Raeford gang for welcoming us with open arms and making sure nobody went thirsty The film festival was absolutely awesome! I was really amazed by the variety of films. Pretty much every facet of the sport got some coverage, RW, Freefly, BASE, Ground Launch, Military FF, Swooping... HUGE thanks to Kevin and Scott for making it all come together
  11. So far the list of CSS'ers who will be coming down for at least a day is at 16. We're peer pressuring everyone we can into joining in the fun I'll see you guys tomorrow Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  12. A quick update for all those planning on jumping at Raeford this weekend. If you haven't been there before, Raeford only accpepts cash or check. There's an ATM in the bar, but it'll cost ya. I'll be arriving sometime friday and staying in a tent. It looks like it's going to be 95 degrees all weekend, so I'll see if we can grab some shady spots. We should also try to get a decent sized packing tarp as there is no indoor packing. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  13. Wholy crap! 17 films is amazing! Are we going to get to see all of them, or just the top finishers? I can't wait. I'm sure it will bet the highlight of the Boogie! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  14. Hey everybody! It was a pretty busy weekend. Thanks to all who came out! First things first... Congratulations to me! According to Paul, I was supposed to die within the last 6 months. Granted he was wrong about that once and the guy lived for seven months. Please help me to enjoy my continuing existence. Second: Congrats to the Fockers for bringing home gold for CSS yet again @ the CSL meet in Chester on saturday. They rocked the blocks off the dive pool if you know what I'm saying... Third: Renfro had a rough tandem landing on saturday and may have torn his meniscus (sp?) I haven't gotten an update since saturday evening, but if anybody knows anything more, please post it here. Last, the weekend update: Friday ended up being a little slow & we flew 4 King Air loads. Saturday and sunday were busy with tandems, but most of the fun jumpers were either away at the meet or enjoying the hot weather somewhere else. Some of the newly minted A-license holders got to do some pretty cool jumps with the freefly gang & we had an awesome little cookout with carne asada, ham & shirmp to round out the evening. Next weekend is pretty booked up already, but it looks like most of the fun jumpers will be attending the Raeford Military Appreciation Boogie! The Raefordites regularly close up their DZ and come up to celebrate the 4th of July and Thanksgiving with us, so I'm glad that so many of us will be there to support this boogie. The Raeford fun jumpers got together and decided they needed to organize a big boogie & they've done an awesome job! It should be a really exciting weekend. For more information, check the Raeford Boogie thread in this forum. Seeya, Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  15. Well... at long last my entry into the film festival is in the mail. It should get to you guys by friday. Call me if it doesn't and I'll get one down there ASAP in time for judging. I talked to a guy @ Franklin County airport with an R44 who said that he'd be up for flying jumpers. I'm not sure if he's avaliable on short notice, but contact Todd from www.ncrotorandwing.com if you're interested. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  16. Where did you get the info about air "spilling out where the stabilizers would usually be?" I have about 650 jumps on a JVX (ZP) and I feel that the inputs are anything but mushy, even in the bottom end. The JVX is a very fast & low drag wing. I regularly go significantly faster (measured by viso) under my JVX 80 than under my stock VX 69. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

  18. Mine is coming along. I plan to ship it out next wednesday or before. It won't be an hour long epic or anything, I just have a BUNCH of good footage it's really hard deciding what to leave out! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  19. Hehe... 30 minutes to make a 10 minute film? Did you invent a time machine? So far I've put in 15 hours and I have about 2 minutes of finished video... oi... Are you going to be very picky about the 10 minute time limit. Mine might go over with the full credits slapped on the end. I look foreward to seeing all of the other entries! There are lots of different ways to go about making a skydiving video & I really like to see what others are doing! Seeya, Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  20. Kevin, I'm a little late getting started and I now find myself in the darkest corner of Final Cut Pro hell. I'm hoping to have a rough cut done by this weekend. I was just wondering, how many submissions do you have so far? How many are you expecting. Mine should be in the mail by next wednesday! Seeya, Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  21. AFAIK Raeford Parachute Center and Skydive Carolina have enacted new rules limiting degrees of turns. Maybe someone from either of those dropzones can chime in with the specifics. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  22. It's thursday already... wow! Tomorrow there are about 15 tandems on the books starting at 10am. Hopefully we'll have the King Air and we'll be flying a bunch of loads! I'll see you all there! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  23. I have seen those quick release buckles on roller coasters before. They look very sturdy! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  24. I have an EVS120 with a JVX 80 ZP & it's a pretty good fit. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  25. Thanks for the lead in Beav! Phew... what an awesome weekend! I can't wait until somebody posts all of the pictures from saturday night! The Welcome Back Matt & Allison / Memorial Day Boogie turned out to be one of the most enjoyable skydiving weekends that CSS has seen in a long time. A bunch of folks came out on friday to make some King Air jumps and enjoy the perfect weather. Beav1 made some chicken for dinner and Marion suggested a Dairy Queen run for dessert (They're open until 11 on Fri-Sat, for future reference.) Saturday was busy, with about 17ish loads and lots of jumpers who we haven't seen in a while (Kim, Sherry, Doug, Skillen, Nicole, Ashley...) The party Saturday night was totally awesome thanks to some kickass side dishes, shrimp and cake. Big thanks to everyone who brought food! Extra special thanks to Matt and Allison for hiring the DJ, Pete Luter for serving Free Sno-Cones all night, and Kim Walker for sharing his HUGE bottle of Grey Goose! The dancing and bonfire shennagians were of the highest quality... I won't say any names, but I'm sure we'll be telling the stories and sharing the pictures for months to come. The Tent Village reached a record population with roughly a dozen nylon and aluminum sleeping structures which were neatly arranged into a alley like pattern I slept like a baby in my little yellow Marmot! Sunday and Monday were a bit lower key, but we made some pretty eventful jumps. Greg made his 600th jump extra unstable with his life-size inflatable Chester the Cheetah. Marion redeemed herself by miraculously saving a hybrid exit from certain doom on Beav 2's 100th (& my 1800th) jump. (In case you're new or you've been living under a rock, go to skydivingmovies.com and look up Marion's 500th jump & you'll see what I mean.) By monday evening (somewhere around load 9) most of the jumpers had packed up and gone home & those remaining were exhausted from a long weekend of partying and jumping in the 90 degree heat. I'm sure that I'm overlooking some important stories here and probably forgetting to thank quite a few of the people who helped make this weekend happen, so please feel free to fill in the gaps. I'm pretty tired at this point. Enjoy the pictures and rest up for next weekend! Seeya, Eric Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
