  1. I have been waiting for over a year now to do my first night jump... unfortunatly the opportunity has not been given to me as of yet... any ideas? HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  2. I know someone who wears earplugs in the plane. He takes them out before freefall. For the first 10-15 minutes of the flight he wears them as to decrease the ears exposure tothe turbines noise. During this period he really can't hear much. Isn't this similar to having headphones on the way up. Is there a difference? HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  3. I am 225 and have a hard time mantaining an even fall rate with my friend who weighs 150. I started out by corking a bunch but recently found that spreading my legs apart; like a stradle but without the knees bent. This works very well to slow my fall rate down considerable. It is like flying a totally different position though which I am still learning. I also decided to order a really baggy suit and loose some lbs. Blue Skies!! Dan
  4. if that is a normal co2 cartridge like for an airgun i am sure they sell them at wallmart which is near Arecibo. I cannot tell from the description nor am i an expert in CO2 cartridges... good luck, dan HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  5. is there any way we could start changing usernames and not mess up all of our previous records? i think this would be cool. HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733

  7. i made a similar trip this past summer from Vegas to Florida on 10, stopped at Eloy, El Paso,Marana, Skydive Dallas, Spaceland, and Moss Point. I recomend all of them.. it was tricky though since not all of the DZ's are open during the week so plan ahead and figure it out. Blue Skies, dan HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  8. I think you should just let people post what they want about events, boogies, specials, etc. This is a forum and as long as it has something to do with the topic.. events....it should be allowed on the page... even if it is just friends getting together to jump at X DZ on Y day. just my 2 cents. BLUE SKIES! HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  9. hey guys.. go and make some jumps for me cause that kind of shit never happens where i'm from!!!! jelousy kills!!! HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733

  11. my vote goes to Moss Point. Friendly people, an otter, good food, and friendly people... what else could you ask for? oh yeah... the view is pretty good too.. i have been to 8 different DZ's including Eloy but i liked the atmoshphere at Moss Point more. go hit up Gold Coast Skydivers... it aint even my home DZ. 15. i have had mixed luck.. the first complete rig i tried to buy got to me and i was told it was in excellent condition with no damage whatsoever. the packing data card showed it had all gotten wet, the main had a patch, and the reserve had multiple rides on it. i sent it back and had to pay shipping. I suggest everyone go through their DZ and not send any cash untill you and your rigger inspect the gear. The second time i tried and had a rig sent down it was the real deal and worked perfectly. the moral of the story is dont send any $$$ till you've inspected the goods; otherwise somebody will burn you... 18. I have to say eloy... i drove through the whole state visiting a bunch of DZ's. As long as you dont mind that its huge, got a pool and a whole lot of other stuff.. Marana is small and only had 182's when i went. good luck and blue skies!!! Dan HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733

  22. i have spent around 8-10k US dollars in my firt year, i got my AFF did like 50 jumps with rental gear, bought my own gear for 3500, and i bought the accesories like audiable altimeter, goggles, jump suit, and now have 143 jumps, this does not include my transportation, consideing i have been to 9 DZ's across the states and I am fro Puerto Rico... come on down in Feb. for our boogie,... check out the video on skydivingmovies.com its killer! blue skies, dan HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  23. I had the same incident happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I had stowed my breaks then noticed a lot of twists on the steering lines, so i unstowed them, untwisted the lines and continued packing. i must have forgotten to restow one of them cause on opening i had one toggle all tangled up in the lines, i had to climb up my right riser to get it unstuck.this was atr about 2k i had it untangled by 1.5k but it still wasnt completely clear. a couple of gut tugs on the toggle and i got it working good.. landed it uneventfully... i am glad i didnt have to go to the reserve.... skydiving isnt for everybody... you have to be able to react under pressure as you did my friend and as did i. i hope we can all do it like that or better. blue skies! HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
