  1. in other words you do belong to letskeepitinsideourskinpeople.com cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  2. DO you need to buy one of my very special edition Skyjunky shirts that says nothing but.... got titanium?© or are you hypothetically speaking of metal you never got ;) but what chachi said, nice call...get a real live coach...the computer cant video your landing and debrief you :-P well sometimes I debrief myself and sit in front of my computer, but hey thats another story :-P Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  3. I wish I had video of that frankenstein jump I did over the weekend, but all I got were those 80+ awesome stills instead ;) Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  4. and again kudos marks I cant wait for next summer up here in the north east so I can start doing the ranch canopy piloting league...and yes I will be competing on a non crossbraced canopy against people on crossbraced canopies.... and you knwo what, I will learn something, I will have fun, and I will swoop!!! and that at the end of the day is what makes me tick... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  5. what marks said... and while you are at it get Brian Germain's Book, the Parachute and its Pilot and read it a few times...some of it wont really sink in for a few hundred jumps, but read it, it is worth it.... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  6. all I have to say is that I watched a guy on an f'ing Lighting enter the Ranch Pond Swooping meet this year, a Lightning competing against Velos, VX's, XOAS's etc... so go compete... its about fun and learning and not about winning... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  7. Ditto minus the 1500 skydives...although I have flown belly slots for some hybrids remember aggie dave that freeflying encompasses belly flying as well...I remember John Skinner getting so pissed that no one in the freefly league could fly on their belly and made us all do accordion exits :-P truth be told...outside of the turning points part, I can get there no problem ;) they always choose me at sussex for hanger slots cause they knwo I can get there quick and get the grips and not get sucked into the top... and you want to know what jump I started working on freeflying? Jump 21 Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  8. I put a set of gloves on yesterday and the problem was solved.... and that was when it was on 18" risers that I borrowed (since I borrwed a rig, it just worked out that way) I need to find a set of 24's and see what those are like too.... CHeers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  9. freeflydrew took these of me today thanks drew and happy halloween all Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  10. Aye drew, I will agree with you, but I remember someone telling me that all axis transitions were good to know ;) I use all axis transitions depending on the jump what about over unders ;) for instance dive as follows. flower exit swap hand grips release go to cross hand grips one flier transitions to sit. double spock release over under cartheeel sit flier repeat as desired :-P so in that jump you would use cartwheels and a forward flip transition no? Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  11. I thought only Gi was capable of feet-first atmonauti. So other people have figured it out by now? That shit is crazy indeed. its like a 45 degree stand with arms in algnmend with your body... I remember my friend and I heading to a formation he head down and he looked over at me and bugged out.... on the ground he looked over at me and was like that was sick, you were in a feet first autmonaut position... an accident, but I usee it to this day. its a neat feeling... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  12. I found for me it was the relax and backloop into it.... but then worked on front looping into it... then it was left side... and then right side.... and then once you get it and are comfy, it just becomes getting into it however you need to.... and of course what worked for me doesnt neccesairily apply to anyone else... Edited to say that relaxing and not trying to force the headdown is the best way, fish in the river fish in the river.... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  13. after not following this and about 500 jumps later, I agree.... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  14. I used to have both but I donasold my fullface to a new jumper who needed a helmet http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  15. its so you can make sure that the idiot behind you doesnt get out too early ;) But for real so the you have a good clean nice on heading arched exit, that was the only tip that worked for me, when I was a student, it took me a long time to work out coming down the hill.... and then I gave it up on jump 21 and started working on sitflying ;) Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  16. if I was a little weakling I would say yes maybe I need to pump the iron... but I can pull down the risers, it definately is higher/rips the skin of my fingers every time.... I can do the turns I want to do, but I remember the 149 being much lighter in the pressure Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  17. Yeah John, I will totally let you jump it the next time I am up that way which might be this weekend depending on work on sunday. Vee shall see, the difference between the 149 riser pressure and the 129 riser pressure is immense... talk to you later. Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  18. yay just what we need Cunt-a-lisa Rice in office....oh yeah then we can really call our president a liar...or a back peddler, this woman makes John Kerry look like a surefooted dude who never changed his views on anything... But I have never seen someone so artfully dodge questions about things or say somethign comp0letely different that the reality of what she had already said when brought to question for her lies... Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  19. I went to Velocity from Crossfire and on full glide Velo definitely has higher riser pressure, but it probably benefits a bit more from the braked approach. I never thought Crossfire to have too high riser pressure. It was higher than on some other canopies, but definitely not as high as on xbraced canopies I've jumped. Then again I've only jumped xfire(1/2)119 and (1)109 so can't really comment about 129. Yeah I have flown the 149 as well, and noticed it was lighter on the 149 as well, I am really starting to think this canopy has problems... oh well Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  20. Totally there Cant wait. Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  21. hehe, my buddy just went to a Velo from this canopy and says the riser pressure is lighter ;) Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  22. I have a crossfire2 129 loaded at 1.6ish and the front riser pressure is abominable... cuts open my hands everytime...thats why I am moving to ledges instead of dive loops, I noticed the 149 had lighter riser pressure at about 1.4... thats why I am wondering if the 129 is a bad size for the Xfire2 Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  23. You mean only for an intentional cutaway... This was the original idea, but I am now leaning towareds a demo jump of a reserve as a main - and I am sure that was what my dropzone would recommend when the time comes for me to ask for a test jump of a reserve. It was my understanding that if the reserve has a main bridle attachment point (PD Demo Reserves), I can test jump it as a main parachute. And I would be able to cutaway it normally. Thus, no tertiary needed -- I continue using my existing reserve as the reserve. Please correct me if I am wrong. This just backs up my concern. There are reports that landing a Micro Raven safely is possible, but that there are actual reports by people I know in person (including you, not just you that I met in Lake Wales - you being one of the organizers of Deaf World Record) who mention a friend or somebody having a horror story with a Raven Micro. This goes well beyond "online forum horror stories". It sounds like I may be rolling my dice with a Raven Micro -- even if I am now pre-informed with important information about its narrow flare band at higher wingloadings. I realize it will likely save my life anyway, but it may not keep me injury free in situations where a PD Reserve would. plus why woudl you get rid of a perfectly good main for something that is only sort of guarenteed to open ;) cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  24. underwear....jump tickets....underwear....jump tickets JUMP TICKETS Cheers Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
  25. Don't you think morons would be offended then? If you want people to be politically correct, you should be as well. well then hopefully the morons know that word is used in a colloquial way by many people in the US ;) Dave http://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing.
