Thanks a lot Scotty - You and Matt can never get enough credit for the video work you guys do. We all know it is a pain in the ass to drag the mountains of gear from home DZ through airports to new DZ and back. Not to mention the 10s to as much as 100+ hours of pic and video editing. A significant number of death and injuries in recent years have been related to low / agressive turns. While there are some wingsuit pilots that finish off their skydive with a swoop, most are in it for the wingsuit flight itself. In addition, on average the canopies are larger and more forgiving. Agree to the other points made here as well. In addition, the community is small, safety issues are discussed and addressed in realtime, granted not always to everyones satisfaction --- but I do feel there is a take care of each other approach. While yes, I agree once any object leaves the ground (unless it is placed in orbit or leaves our plantary gravity) it will "land". In addition, I am very certain that with enough engineering and money an arresting system and/or vertical to hortizontal forces transitional system (e.g. a slope/ramp) can be employed. But call it what it is. It is NOT what most would consider an unaided or uncontrived free fall to horizontal landing, taking nothing away from Jeb and his attempt.
